- In 1930, the publishing house Cankarjeva zalozba announced that the war novel Doberdob by Prezihov Voranc will be published. It describes the tragic stories of the soldiers that fought in the Doberdò plateau where according to historians many Slovenian soldiers battling during World War I bled to death. Writer Prezihov Voranc, with a real name Lovro Kuhar, who was 22 at the time, also fought in there. The novel was only published in 1940. During the ten years after its publication was first announced the writer rewrote it three times because the manuscript vanished in strange circumstances several times. While Prezihov Voranc was writing the novel he was also politically active. He was one of the first communists in Slovenia. In 1937 he even became secretary of the Central Committee, which means he was ranked second in the hierarchy of the Yugoslav Communist Party. He was an agent of the Comintern, a traveler who spoke five languages, and he was in touch with several prominent politicians of the period. At the same time he remained personally modest, he kept believing in common man and held values that were less and less consistent with ever so rigorous communist' ideology. The novel Doberdob was written in the period when Voranc was mainly living underground due to his active life in politics. The novel is regarded to be the only Slovenian autobiographic novel with World War I topic.

- In the middle of a hot summer, a homeless woman is murdered in the centre of Ljubljana. At least as much as her death is troubled by the fact that the murder took place in a park right next to the General Police Administration. In addition to Taras's and Tina's relationship, resentment is being drawn from the events at Lake Bohinj over Taras' treatment of the spoiled son of an influential man, so the head of Drvaric assigns the management of the case to Tini instead of Taras. The start of the investigation is not the most promising, as none of the occupants of the park detected anything unusual, even though the windows look out of all the apartments. Yet a criminal investigation reveals that one of them wasn't the most honest.
- Marjetka is living ten years with Maks, who is a painter, and an uncompromising conceptual artist. At first, it seemed different: Max was witty, charming, talented and promising, so he hired Marjetka to reach fame and success. And when Marjetka a few days after her 30th birthday, full of doubts about this way of life, which is not to her liking, she realizes that Maks is not only an irreversible bohemian, but also a slacker and sarcastic, she decides to change her life. And this is very radical. Rather than leave it to him.

- 2009, Slovenia, European Union. For 30 years, Alija, the miner, has been one of the many Bosnian immigrant workers. Due to the crisis, miners are losing jobs. Alija is sent to check an abandoned mine. His task is to quickly make sure the mine is empty before management sells the company. But in the mine, Alija finds hidden proof of executions after WWII. He is told to stop digging and report the mine empty. He decides to continue, although he is risking his job. Alija discovers thousands of executed people. He informs the police. He found women among the dead. Some of them were civilians, missing persons, just like his sister that was lost in the 1995 genocide in Bosnia. Alija is convinced the victims need to be brought out, identified and buried. But there is no interest in doing that. The mine is proclaimed a WWII military grave and walled in. The dead will stay without a burial. Alija loses his job and struggles to preserve his dignity. He is sure he was doing the right thing, in spite of the unemployment his family is now faced with. Based on a true story.
