The process of working on the case will either bring the brothers closer together, or drive a wedge further between, the result possibly tied to what ultimately happens to Kenzie.

Eric takes care of them and leaves with her. She reveals that she was part of a criminal organization and that an FBI agent who infiltrated the organization got close to her. He then tells her that he suspects that someone in the FBI is working for the organization so hr gives her Shelley's id so that she could go underground. That's when he's killed. Eric tells Albrecht what she told him and thinks that one of the FBI agents who came could be the one. So he tries to find out who and tries to get to Eric so he can get the girl into protective custody.
- Eric's dead girlfriend Shelly is now a restless spirit. She's able to communicate with Eric as their old loft serves as a link between them. She asks him to help an innocent man convicted of murder. Albrecht makes a deal with Eric.
