Aided by resourceful paparazzi Don Konkey, a mentally unbalanced schizophrenic, Lucy zeroes in on struggling actor Holt McLaren, who needs favorable publicity and whose rising-star girlfriend, Julia Mallory, is well-connected to some dirt when Holt leaks info about Julia's superstar actress friend, Kira Klay's pregnancy, but later regrets it. While stemming off her demanding employer, Dirt's publisher Brett Barrow, Lucy is also very lonely and hides her unhappiness and loneliness behind aggression and a mean-spirited attitude. Meanwhile, Don zeros his attention of basketball superstar Prince Tyreese who's having an affair with a local prostitute, while Don suffers from periodic hallucinations from his mental disorder and caring for his sick pet cat. Holt also learns about some dirt that Lucy and Don have on Julia involving a porno tape in order to keep him in line as their source of information.

Meanwhile, Don is haunted by visions of Marquis who wants Don to ignore his latest photo assignment against Julia and concentrate on something else. Also, Leo returns after a six-week stay at a spiritual retreat with a silent girlfriend where Lucy updates him on her latest situation.
- Don meets an ambitious, but naive, fellow paparazzi, named Marqui Jackson, whom tags along to help him with his latest assignment in photographing a local starlet, and both end up at the mercy of a former street gang leader-turned-paparazzi, named Ozzy Romero, who employs his former gang members to make Don and Marqui turn away from the story. Meanwhile, Julia finds it difficult to find work after leaving rehab and becomes picky about her choices of TV appearances. Willa begins to give Brent the cold shoulder over their continuing office romance when she wants to stop, and he will not take 'no' for an answer. Also, Lucy's unseen stalker escalates of his harassment of her by sending out revealing Internet images of her.

Elsewhere, Holt moves out of Julia's house while she finally learns about his romantic involvement with Lucy leading the unbalanced Julia to take matters into her own hands. Also, Lucy's stalker is finally revealed.

Also, Don and Lucy try to find dirt on starlet Sharlee Cates who may have some connections to the drug world.

Elsewhere, Holt continues to go on with life without both Julia and Lucy.
