- Christel (82) is an art teacher from Wolfenbüttel (Germany), who belongs to an old noble family from this small town. John (83) is an engineer who came as a student form Kerala (India). Despite significant cultural and personal differences, Christel and John have remained together for more than 56 years. At the entrance to their home, is a drawing of two pigeons with the couples initials inscribed. Inside, their home is a museum, a monument to their life together. This huge house is full of bric-à-brac, furniture, paintings, family photos, and books. John has no interest for birds, but he is always there to protect her from people who are complaining when she is feeding pigeons on the street. Christel hates alcohol, but she is listening a story about his favorite liqueur. Their everyday life is full with games, teasing and small arguments. Until one day he packs his suitcase and flies away to India. Life is weaving love and loneliness in this story about loyalty, freedom and fragility of human heart.
