- Two strangers meet at a coffee shop for what seems like a blind date. But as the conversation progresses, it becomes clear that this couple, who have never seen each other face to face and who met on the Internet, have actually formed a suicide pact. Problems arise when the couple realizes that they may have finally found something worth living for. Comprised of three continuous takes-one take for each act-and shot over the course of two days, Commit is witty and disturbing, as well as an inspirational achievement in independent filmmaking.
- Stand-up comedian Nicole Blaine blurs the lines between her jokes on stage and her reality at home. Seamlessly blending her stand up special with footage of her actual family - the butt of her jokes, Nicole creates an intimate, truthful, and searing comedy special unlike any you've ever seen. Nicole Blaine's unique look at life and motherhood has made her (according to L.A. Weekly) "a remarkable performer with brains, beauty and rich comic delivery." Her honest (and crass) observations showcase her (according to Backstage West) "humor, passion, dazzling charm and a naturalness that many performers, or even civilians, would kill for." Life's a Bit is a stand-up comedy special with a heart that isn't scared to explore the truth about parenting, marriage, and a woman's struggle to stay relevant in a world dominated by boys.
- Quincy Jones was an aspiring L.A. stand-up comic, working the requisite barista job while at one point meeting a goal of doing 1,000 gigs in one year. He was diagnosed with terminal cancer in 2015. He's undergoing chemotherapy and has a year to live, say doctors. A pair of comic friends (Nicole Blaine and her husband, Burning The Light director Mickey Blaine), knowing that Jones' final wish was to have his own hour-long stand-up special, set up a Kickstarter to raise the estimated $5,000 budget. After the story was picked up by Ellen DeGeneres on her talk show, they raised 10 times that amount. DeGeneres helped Jones' special, Burning The Light, secure a spot on HBO. The widely seen clip of him getting the news is here, in case you want a good cry.
- Deconstructs the discrepancies between a small time politician's politically correct sound bites and his politically incorrect lifestyle.
