- In July 2017, the Canadian Horse Defence Coalition visited three Japanese equine feedlots where horses imported live from Canada are slaughtered for the Japanese market.

In this slaughterhouse, horses are given improper stunning, and therefore they regain consciousness so they suffer for a longer time before they get shot in the head.
