- A documentary crew films heavy metal band Bad News as they have trouble starting their van, pick up a schoolgirl groupie, and meet up with rock journalist Sally at a motorway service station where they argue about the cost of sausage and chips.

Angie discovers that their neighbours, estate agent Roy and his wife Jane, high court judge Charles and his bickering wife Carol, Bilbo a conceptual artist and his partner Diana, were all members of a wife-swapping circle who usually met at Ron and Helen's house. Luccio, who later reveals himself to be a police inspector, is curious as to how Ron and Helen died, so lines up all the suspects.
