Christopher Nolan the first. I dont know how many times I've seen the Dark Knight everyone wanted to watch it again and again and again. Why? Because it becomes not a bit boring even after the 20th time and thats something that just a handful of movies can do, still thrill me after the 100th time I'll never get tired of a good old magictrick.

I think for the most part everything has been said about this one. The Shining is my most favorite Kubrick Film. I had to choose between Shining, A Clockwork Orange and maybe Full Metal Jacket but the Shining had one thing the others didnt have, Jack Nicholson and he is the perfect cast for an insane murderer in a horrormovie because I think he practically IS an insane murderer. I cant describe it, Jacks performance doesnt feel at all like an performance, its no comparison to Silence of the Lambs which is a very good movie but when I was introduced to Hannibal Lecter I saw Anthony Hopkins playing a canibal, in the shining I freaking saw Jack Torrance getting completly insane. What a shame Stephen King himself hates this movie.

James Camerons best movie, and my most favorite mix of action, sci-fi and actually a lot of heart. Often when I talk about Terminator 2 everyone just says: "yeah great action", but for me it's so much more than that, everytime *SPOILER* The Terminator turns to John at the end and says: "I know now why you cry" *END OF SPOILER* I get a little shock all over my body, I love it

21. Avatar (2009)

PG-13 | 162 min | Action, Adventure, Fantasy

83 Metascore

A paraplegic Marine dispatched to the moon Pandora on a unique mission becomes torn between following his orders and protecting the world he feels is his home.

Director: James Cameron | Stars: Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, Michelle Rodriguez

Votes: 1,386,003 | Gross: $760.51M

Avatar is more then a movie. I love it not because everyone else does but i think for the same reasons. This is a movie that doesnt have 3D as a cheap gimmick to get 2€ more out of my pocket it has 3D as a storytelling element. AND YES the story of avatar isnt the most brilliant never before seen story in history but if you seriously came out of the cinema thinking to yourself: wow that was a stupid movie then I'm realy sorry for you because you missed an experience. A journey to another world for more then two hours I freaking left earth and enjoyed Pandora, the Navi and their life. Avatar is so much more then a nice looking movie with a cheap story its an adventure that tells story and atmosphere through its visuals and if you hate that I can't help you.
