Van Damme's best movie. This is John Woo's debut movie in Hollywood. It's raw, brutal and beautiful. A must have for every action fan. Every action scene is thought-through, with countless signature Woo trademarks. The play, lights, camerawork and directing all fit together very well, accompanied by Graeme Revell's tunes it's a one-of-a-kind action fest. If you haven't seen it for a while or at all I'd recommend it to any Guns 'n Bullets fan.

One of Bruce's best. The perfect assassin. A chameleon who can become anyone, anywhere, and has a backup for the backup plan. A thrill ride from beginning to end. What makes Jackal special is Bruce playing an antagonist, and he plays it cold, calculated and seemingly without error.

Beautiful cinematography, wonderfully woven plot. Action is used sparingly and looks great. Characters breathe, and the conflict grows; meanwhile the music immersing us into Ethan Hunt's adventure.

Val Kilmer is a real badass here. Although progression isn't as dynamic, not an action movie per se, but intense thriller with guns at the least.

This proves Mark Wahlberg could be the new action hero. The action has a lot of realism and thought behind it. Anton Fuqua's direction and Shooter's script really set the definition of a 'cool' action movie.

Votes: 223,212
Rodriguez puts all his skills to the test and to me it seems this project has a lot of his passion. The script is interesting with lots of entertainment value. Not your average zombie flick. Great character development. The humor isn't the clean type but it perfectly goes with Rodriguez's style me-thinks.

Votes: 1,583,512 | Gross: $120.54M
Tarantino's answer to Planet Terror. Original setting for a movie like this and execution, even though not factual, remains entertaining. Favourite character: Hans Landa

Director: Phillip Noyce | Stars: Angelina Jolie, Liev Schreiber, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Daniel Olbrychski
Votes: 330,055 | Gross: $118.31M
There's more than meets the eye with Evelyn Salt. She's a force to be reckoned with. The movie is a straightforward action flick at first sight with lots of stunts, guns and bullets but underneath it all hides an interesting take on the whole 'Manchurian Candidate' theory. Highly entertaining.

An assassin hides out in Italy for one last assignment.
Director: Anton Corbijn | Stars: George Clooney, Paolo Bonacelli, Violante Placido, Irina Björklund
Votes: 102,076 | Gross: $35.61M
Not a fast-paced action movie, but a clever take on the 'hitman' genre. Highly skilled George Clooney excercises his wits and precision to survive. Held my interest until the very end.

Denzel and Oldman as usual without disappointment. Unusual cinematography - bleek colors giving us the feeling of the apocolypse surpassed. The movie was intriguing, intense and inspiring.

Director: Martin Campbell | Stars: Mel Gibson, Ray Winstone, Danny Huston, Bojana Novakovic
Votes: 99,016 | Gross: $43.31M
It's not a fairy tale. There is no knight in shining armor. This is gritty, this is violent - and there is nothing to lose because life as he knew it was over. Not epic but entertaining and there's a plot here so better not be too relaxed.

Even though Mr. Besson (he's still writing, along with pen-pal Robert Mark Kamen) is not under the director's helm - I was not disappointed. The movie exceeded all my expectations. It packs a serious punch and should entertain any Guns 'n Bullets fan. If the action genre is on the verge of extinction - it's movies like this one that can bring it back.
31. Hanna (2011)

Director: Joe Wright | Stars: Saoirse Ronan, Cate Blanchett, Eric Bana, Vicky Krieps
Votes: 206,838 | Gross: $40.26M
I went in expecting a blockbuster action movie. This isn't what this is. Hanna does not follow the usual formula. In fact, what helped was letting expectations go and try not to predict - this made the experience immensely fun and captivating. The picture is beautiful, the fight scenes stylish and fresh. The music, composed by The Chemical Brothers, might not be for everyone, but so is this movie. It's just... different - like Hanna.
