- StarsBen BrowderClaudia BlackAnthony SimcoeWhen the evil Scarran Empire initiates a great war, the Peacekeeper Alliance has only one hope: to reunite human astronaut John Crichton, once absorbed by the Peacekeeper galaxy through a wormhole.OK, this one is sort of cheating. The show was prematurely canceled and this TV movie served as the finale. It aired about a year and a half after the series was canceled but it fits in perfectly. It starts only a matter of hours after the series ended. When I think of how Farscape ended, this always comes to mind first. And it was great! Amazing! Epic! #1!
- DirectorRobert C. CooperStarsBen BrowderAmanda TappingChristopher JudgeGeneral Landry accompanies SG-1 on a mission to collect the knowledge of the Asgard. When the Ori show up, however, Sam is forced to evacuate the crew. Landry and SG-1 stay aboard, but are stuck helpless in a time dilation field for decades. They had enough time to plan a finale, but not enough time to tie everything up, so they gave us this. It was a very character driven, emotional finale. I loved it! They knew the Stargate franchise was popular enough for them to give us the 2 direct-to-DVD movies we got later that tied up each of the main villains. But they didnt resolve either of the two major ships, because they were planning many more direct-to-DVD movie. But after they aired the third franchise series, Stargate Universe, which was terrible and bombed and was canceled, it effectively destroyed the franchise and there will be no more direct-to-DVD movies. D'X
- 1995–199645m8.7 (191)TV EpisodeDirectorThomas J. WrightStarsMorgan WeisserKristen ClokeRodney RowlandA Chig ambassador could be the key to peace, an end to the war, and home for the Earth forces. The head of Aerotech is requested by the amassador to be at the peace talks, but, when he arrives, he knows more than it appears. This was abruptly canceled and I believe it is the only finale I added to this list that was a cliffhanger. But it was a great finale nonetheless. The best of the series and epic and emotional. A final battle, and a character death. One of the best deaths ever (not that death is good, but there is a right way to do it), he went out in a blaze of glory!
- DirectorAllan KroekerStarsKate MulgrewRobert BeltranRoxann DawsonHaving long since made it home, an aged Admiral Janeway breaks Starfleet directives and temporal laws to take a last stab at an old enemy and shorten Voyager's journey home. This was one exciting finale! They destroyed the Borg and got home in one shot! Love it! When the Voyager pops out of that explosion I just want to jump up and cheer!
- DirectorMark BeesleyStarsCraig HornerBridget ReganBruce SpenceIn the second season finale, Richard's last desperate attempt to save the world of the living brings him face-to-face with his greatest enemy, while Kahlan may be forced to kill the man she loves.I dont know but I would assume that the finale was changed from how the book ended since they managed to tie everything up. It had all the things that I loved about Legend of the Seeker, just more of it. And they managed to get Richard and Kahlan together in the end. I cried. :P
- 2005–200821mTV-Y79.9 (17K)TV EpisodeDirectorJoaquim Dos SantosStarsZach Tyler EisenMae WhitmanJack De SenaAang's moment of truth arrives. Can he defeat Ozai, the Phoenix King? Will he be forced to take a human life? All the characters face their greatest challenges.Sozin's Comet was 4 parts and was aired as one, so it was one major epic television event. It was huge, and amazing!
- DirectorJustin MolotnikovStarsColin MorganJohn HurtRupert YoungWith Arthur's forces outnumbered, Merlin arrives in his guise as the aged sorcerer to defeat Morgana's army with magic. Arthur kills Mordred but is wounded and rescued by Merlin, who reveals that he is a wizard. Arthur is initially hostile but, advised by Gaius, allows Merlin to take him to the healing lake of Avalon. On the journey, Arthur comes to appreciate everything Merlin has ever done for him and eyes him with a new respect, even softening in his attitude to magic, but Morgana is pursuing them. Can they make it to Avalon ahead of her?I had been hoping for the entire series that the writers would find a loophole and give us a different ending than the legend. But they did not. It was sad, but powerful, and beautiful, and epic.
- DirectorJeffrey BellStarsDavid BoreanazJames MarstersJ. August RichardsIn the series finale, Angel reveals that his questionable moral behavior has been part of a bigger plan: to destroy The Circle of the Black Thorn and show the Senior Partners that the power of good can still make a difference. Wesley struggles with helping Illyria adapt to the world, scolding her for her attempts to take on Fred's form. As Gunn continues his quest of self-discovery, Lorne becomes more aware of the lack of happiness in the world. Harmony attempts to seduce Marcus Hamilton for information, Lindsey makes an important decision regarding his alliance, and Eve continues to deal with being mortal. As Spike comes closer to understanding the nature of heroism, Angel pays a visit to the one person he truly loves. On Angel's bidding, the gang goes out and spends each day as if it were their last...Even though the Angel finale was planned, it feels like a cliffhanger, and it really bugs me that I dont get to see the rest of the battle. But it is still one of the best Angel episodes. Totally awesome, and again, I cried. XP
- DirectorJoss WhedonStarsSarah Michelle GellarNicholas BrendonEmma Caulfield FordAfter killing Caleb, Buffy conceives a plan to defeat the First once and for all. Willow invokes a magic spell that alters the ancient Slayer spell and gives Buffy the allies she needs to fight the Uber-Vamp army. An epic battle ensues and several good friends are lost. At the end, Buffy faces a completely new problem -- one she's glad to have.Like Angel, everything comes to a head and its totally awesome. A battle of epic proportions! But with more closure than Angel.
- DirectorJohn MayburyStarsRay StevensonKevin McKiddPolly WalkerWith the defeat of the Egyptian fleet at Actium, Mark Antony and Cleopatra retreat to their palace and await their fate. Believing that Cleopatra has taken her life, Mark Antony decides follow her into the afterlife. She has other plans however and is quite prepared to negotiate with Octavian if there is any possibility her life and those of her children will be spared. Cleopatra asks Vorenus to take her son Caesarian to safety and Octavian sends Pullo after them. The old friends are soon together again but are waylaid by bandits. With Vorenus severely wounded, Pullo takes him back to Rome for what he hopes will be a happy reunion with his children.Every episode of Rome is awesome, and the final scene left me with a great sense of closure. (Not the Titus part, but the Octavian part)
- DirectorMatt NixStarsJeffrey DonovanGabrielle AnwarCoby BellMichael must win back the trust of everyone he betrayed as James becomes obsessed with ending his life. This episode was excellent! It was full of action, brought the team back together, a huge sacrifice from one of the characters, and an amazing HEA ending for Michael.
- DirectorKazuki AkaneStarsHaruka KudôFujiko TakimotoKazuya NakaiThis is one epically messed up show and the finale is no different. One huge battle!
- DirectorYasuhiro KurodaToshifumi TakizawaStarsR. Bruce ElliottChristopher SabatSean TeagueThe fight against the Capital continues, with both sides suffering major losses. Saving the village now will take more costly sacrifices. What will happen to the survivors who must bury their fallen friends?I think all anime probably ends the same. :P Or all the action ones at least. Just a huge battle episode.
- DirectorDavid TrainerStarsMila KunisDanny MastersonLaura PreponIt is New Year's Eve and is the last day of the '70s. Kitty is having second thoughts about selling the house and moving to Florida, even though Red thinks she is happy they are moving. Donna has just broken up with Randy and is moving to college. Jackie realizes she loves Fez. Bob decides that he's moving to Florida and open a bait shop. Eric says he's coming home from Africa. This episode was less funny and more about the relationships. But it was good and a really proper finale.
