Actors I hate

by mymovies125 | created - 22 Nov 2011 | updated - 29 Nov 2014 | Public

They seem insecure on-screen. They can't connect well to their roles. They seem numb, nervous, sometimes stoic, expressionless and detached---a sign of not connecting well with their character.

1. Channing Tatum

Actor | 21 Jump Street

Channing Tatum was born in a small town, Cullman, Alabama, 50 miles north of Birmingham. He is the son of Kay (Faust), an airline worker, and Glenn Matthew Tatum, who worked in construction. Growing up, he was full of energy and somewhat troublesome, so his parents decided to enroll him in ...

same as above. seems insecure and doesn't come off as believable. also, doesnt put herself into the role well enough. it's like there's a barrier there that prevents her from expressing as much as she should.

5. Christina Ricci

Actress | Casper

Precocious, outspoken child-teen starlet of the 1990s, Christina Ricci was born on February 12, 1980 in Santa Monica, California, the youngest of four children of Sarah (Murdoch), a realtor, and Ralph Ricci, a lawyer and therapist. She is of Italian (from her paternal grandfather), Irish, and ...

I love christina ricci in the addams family! she's just amazing there. but when she got older her acting just took a turn for the worse. she repeatedly chooses bad movies. I haven't seen her in one good movie since addams family...sad

6. Zooey Deschanel

Actress | New Girl

Zooey Deschanel was born in 1980 into a showbiz family. Her father, Caleb Deschanel, is an Academy Award-nominated cinematographer (perhaps most notably for The Passion of the Christ (2004)) and her mother, Mary Jo Deschanel (née Weir), is an actress who appeared in Twin Peaks (1990). Her paternal ...

Ummm....cold and bitchy and detached. She plays the same role in all her movies......the detached girl who could care less. She played the same role in Yes Man with jim carrey and 500 Days of Summer. They were in love with her, but she wasn't. Why is she good at that role? Being detached onscreen is easy.........she is good at that. But she's not good at immersing herself in a role...therefore not a good actress.

7. Amanda Seyfried

Actress | Les Misérables

Amanda Seyfried was born and raised in Allentown, Pennsylvania, to Ann (Sander), an occupational therapist, and Jack Seyfried, a pharmacist. She is of German, and some English and Scottish, ancestry. She began modeling when she was eleven, and acted in high school productions as well as taking ...

She plays slutty roles in movies.....she seems cold and detached.....in her romantic movies she is just terrible....she can't fake passion if her life depended on it. She seems bitchy and annoying.

8. Leonardo DiCaprio

Actor | Inception

Few actors in the world have had a career quite as diverse as Leonardo DiCaprio's. DiCaprio has gone from relatively humble beginnings, as a supporting cast member of the sitcom Growing Pains (1985) and low budget horror movies, such as Critters 3 (1991), to a major teenage heartthrob in the 1990s,...

Um, well.......let's just say, aside from Titanic, Basketball Diaries, catch me if you can, and Gangs of New York, all the rest of dicaprio's movies are terrible. Like really terrible. Revolutionary Road? The Beach? What's Eating Gilbert Grape?

I feel that he seems numb when he's acting. He has a lot of roles where he has to be numb. The Departed (a numb, detached from his surroundings cop who is undercover and can't let anybody know), Shutter Island (a numb escapee/prisoner), The Beach (a numb teenager), What's Eating Gilbert Grape (imo he was good at playing an autistic child b/c he is good at coming off numb onscreen), Basketball Diaries (numb teenager again), Catch me if you can (smartass, numb, young), Revolutionary Road (numb and tired of his sedentary life)

The only two movies where he's actually passionate is gangs of new york and titanic especially.

9. Meryl Streep

Actress | Out of Africa

Considered by many critics to be the greatest living actress, Meryl Streep has been nominated for the Academy Award an astonishing 21 times, and has won it three times. Meryl was born Mary Louise Streep in 1949 in Summit, New Jersey, to Mary Wolf (Wilkinson), a commercial artist, and Harry William ...

She overacts in every role. She is always overdramatic. If she plays angry, she's VERY stern and angry. If she's happy, she's OVERJOYED. I just feel that she is not at all as versatile as everyone claims. Sorry but she does not amuse me onscreen and in every role it seems like she just carries this nervous energy like she has to be "perfect".

I do have to give her props for obviously taking her acting very seriously...though I feel too seriously. She does take centerstage naturally in most movies she's in. However, I feel she is not enjoyable to watch onscreen....she's just too serious for my taste.

10. Steve Martin

Writer | Roxanne

Steve Martin was born on August 14, 1945 in Waco, Texas, USA as Stephen Glenn Martin to Mary Lee (née Stewart; 1913-2002) and Glenn Vernon Martin (1914-1997), a real estate salesman and aspiring actor. He was raised in Inglewood and Garden Grove in California. In 1960, he got a job at the Magic ...

This man is not funny at all. His face nowadays looks like it's made of rubber from having so much plastic surgery done. I'm sorry but even when younger he was just obnoxious and annoying. It's a wonder how anyone ever found him funny?

11. Ryan Gosling

His voice sounds nervous and quivery......his accent bothers me. he doesn't have a normal fluctuation in his tone like normal people have. It's just monotone and somewhat high-pitched. It's because he's not confident enough so his voice doesn't have a regular tone and expression in it.

13. Owen Wilson

Actor | The Royal Tenenbaums

Self-proclaimed troublemaker Owen Cunningham Wilson was born in Dallas, to Irish-American parents originally from Massachusetts. He grew up in Texas with his mother, Laura (Cunningham), a photographer; his father, Robert Andrew Wilson, an ad exec; and his brothers, Andrew Wilson (the eldest) and ...

14. Josh Peck

He can't properly express emotions in his roles. There are times when YES he expresses a lot and it blows me away...for example...in Cruel Intentions when he was falling in love.

He plays this meek shy soft spoken guy in every role. Why be an actor if you are going to play that in every role? It's perfectly fine to be that way in normal life...but, don't carry that into your roles. You have to be a versatile actor.

She lived in Zambia until political unrest caused her family to move back to the UK, where she lived in ...

Always plays a bitchy woman who tells it like it is. Okay we get it Thandie. You don't take no crap. Lol. But as an actress, you have to be versatile. If you just play Yourself, then that is not acting.

20. Courteney Cox

I just think she seems vapid and not completely there. Her acting is boring. She just seems like she has an emotional guard up, like a wall.

She always plays extremely bitchy roles. Again, like Courteney, she has a wall up.

22. Ray Liotta

Actor | Narc

Intense was the word for Ray Liotta. He specialized in psychopathic characters who hide behind a cultivated charm. Even in his nice-guy roles in Field of Dreams (1989) and Operation Dumbo Drop (1995), you get the impression that something is smoldering inside of him. He was born in Newark, New ...

24. Vince Vaughn

Producer | The Break-Up

Vincent Anthony Vaughn was born on March 28, 1970, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA, and was raised in Lake Forest, Illinois. Always plays the dumb guy. Big, Castaway, The Green Mile, Forrest Gump.....always plays a semi-autistic person........that is the way he naturally comes off.

I feel he is VERY good at expression sad emotions....such as in castaway and big. But, other than that.......and other than being in really good movies for the most part, I don't see much reason for the public acclaim about this man.

27. Kevin Spacey

Actor | L.A. Confidential

No.... He seems nervous...stoic. His face isn't expressive. He is good at coming off as "in control" and pretend-confident. His movies are REALLY good....great action movies.

However, I just don't feel he is flexible and would be able to act in anything other than action.

29. John Cusack

Actor | Grosse Pointe Blank

John Cusack is, like most of his characters, an unconventional hero. Wary of fame and repelled by formulaic Hollywood fare, he has built a successful career playing underdogs and odd men out--all the while avoiding the media spotlight. John was born in Evanston, Illinois, to an Irish-American ...

I don't feel he is that bad. He is probably the best one on this list. I just feel he comes off as king of dumb in all his roles. Not dumb, but like he isn't fully present when on screen.

30. Jodie Foster

Stoic, reserved, cold. These qualities don't make for a good actress who can immerse herself in her roles and play different people.

31. Helen Hunt

Actress | As Good as It Gets

Helen Hunt began studying acting at the age of eight with her father, respected director and acting coach Gordon Hunt. A year later she made her professional debut and afterwards worked steadily in films, theatre and television.

Tries to be funny, but isn't. Tries to seem happy and chattery...doesn't work. I don't feel she carries movies well...she kind of just fades in the background.

Compare her to someone like Sandra Bullock, Julia Roberts, Kathy Bates, Angelina Jolie, Julia Stiles, AnnaSophia Robb, Amy Adams, or even Rosie O'Donell who TAKE away the screen when they come on and can carry a movie all by themselves..

32. Michael Douglas

How is he a good actor? All he did was act calm cool and collected in every role. To me that's not a versatile actor. In fact, acting calm and cool is pretty easy to do if you're a calm person like him.
