- CreatorEric KripkeStarsJared PadaleckiJensen AcklesJim BeaverTwo brothers follow their father's footsteps as hunters, fighting evil supernatural beings of many kinds, including monsters, demons, and gods that roam the earth.Season 2, Episode 1: In My Time of Dying
I chose this episode because of the emotional feel of it. The major theme of the series is sacrifice, and John Winchester starts this chain reaction by selling his soul to save his son. The acting is impeccable, and the audience can feel the love that Sam feels for his brother. Absolutely perfect. - CreatorEric KripkeStarsJared PadaleckiJensen AcklesJim BeaverTwo brothers follow their father's footsteps as hunters, fighting evil supernatural beings of many kinds, including monsters, demons, and gods that roam the earth.Season 3, Episode 16: No Rest for the Wicked
Loved this episode. Funny, creepy, charming, and heartfelt all at once! Jensen Ackles is brilliant in the last few minutes of this episode. "Remember what Dad taught you...remember what I taught you." Very heartfelt performances on all three leads. - CreatorEric KripkeStarsJared PadaleckiJensen AcklesJim BeaverTwo brothers follow their father's footsteps as hunters, fighting evil supernatural beings of many kinds, including monsters, demons, and gods that roam the earth.Season 4, Episode 1: Lazarus Rising
The first ten minutes or so of this episode was phenomenal. The reunions with both Bobby and Sam were some of the highlights of the series for me. And that introduction of Castiel was epic! - CreatorEric KripkeStarsJared PadaleckiJensen AcklesJim BeaverTwo brothers follow their father's footsteps as hunters, fighting evil supernatural beings of many kinds, including monsters, demons, and gods that roam the earth.Season 5, Episode 22: Swan Song
Some may complain, because a car ends up saving the day, but I found the ending of this episode to be brilliant, and very fitting. I never thought I could cry one minute, and laugh the next during a show's climax, but Castiel's "Hey Assbutt!" made me do just that. And those flashbacks at the end are so touching. I almost wish that episode was the series finale, because it would have made Supernatural end on such a fitting note (but glad that it's still going strong :D ) - CreatorEric KripkeStarsJared PadaleckiJensen AcklesJim BeaverTwo brothers follow their father's footsteps as hunters, fighting evil supernatural beings of many kinds, including monsters, demons, and gods that roam the earth.Season 2, Episode 22: All Hell Breaks Loose: Part 2
I know, you are probably seeing a theme here! Anyway, I chose this episode because for a few reasons. One: Dean's monologue to Sam is amazing. Jensen Ackles is underrated as an actor, and this scene proves just how talented he is! Two, the recurring theme of sacrifice, of how Dean would do anything to save his brother, even if it means living in torment for eternity. Well directed, emotional, and practically perfect. - CreatorEric KripkeStarsJared PadaleckiJensen AcklesJim BeaverTwo brothers follow their father's footsteps as hunters, fighting evil supernatural beings of many kinds, including monsters, demons, and gods that roam the earth.Season 2, Episode 20: What Is and What Should Never Be
What would life be like for Dean if he never became a hunter? I loved how this episode examined Dean's seemingly perfect life, and the sacrifices which must be made in order to ensure the happiness of his family. Very well done. - CreatorEric KripkeStarsJared PadaleckiJensen AcklesJim BeaverTwo brothers follow their father's footsteps as hunters, fighting evil supernatural beings of many kinds, including monsters, demons, and gods that roam the earth.Season 1, Episode 9: Home
To be honest, I choose this episode because of the poltergeist activity plot line (which is what got me into the show in the first place) as well as the idea of the boys returning to their childhood home and facing their past. - CreatorEric KripkeStarsJared PadaleckiJensen AcklesJim BeaverTwo brothers follow their father's footsteps as hunters, fighting evil supernatural beings of many kinds, including monsters, demons, and gods that roam the earth.Season 1, Episode 11: Scarecrow
Loved the creepy scarecrow idea, very small town Halloween-esque! I sort of miss these classic ghoul of the week episodes from the first season. - CreatorEric KripkeStarsJared PadaleckiJensen AcklesJim BeaverTwo brothers follow their father's footsteps as hunters, fighting evil supernatural beings of many kinds, including monsters, demons, and gods that roam the earth.Season 3, Episode 8: A Very Supernatural Christmas
I chose this one for the humour, cool story idea, and the brotherly love moments, especially when Dean confides in why he wants to celebrate Christmas, and the final scene in the hotel room. Very touching :) - CreatorEric KripkeStarsJared PadaleckiJensen AcklesJim BeaverTwo brothers follow their father's footsteps as hunters, fighting evil supernatural beings of many kinds, including monsters, demons, and gods that roam the earth.Season 6, Episode 15: The French Mistake
One of the reasons I love this show is because it can make fun of itself, and this episode is no exception. From Jensen's early career as a soap star, to Misha Collin's hilarious portrayal of a douchy version of himself, this episode was proof that the show can take a joke. - CreatorEric KripkeStarsJared PadaleckiJensen AcklesJim BeaverTwo brothers follow their father's footsteps as hunters, fighting evil supernatural beings of many kinds, including monsters, demons, and gods that roam the earth.Season 5, Episode 13: The Song Remains the Same
I enjoyed this Winchester family reunion. It may have had a few weak moments (the awkward reunion between Sam and Mary was an example for me), but I thought the actor who played young John was solid, especially when Michael possessed him; and that scene when Dean finally admits that he and Sam are her children, begging her to not enter that nursery... well done. - CreatorEric KripkeStarsJared PadaleckiJensen AcklesJim BeaverTwo brothers follow their father's footsteps as hunters, fighting evil supernatural beings of many kinds, including monsters, demons, and gods that roam the earth.Season 4, Episode 9: I Know What You Did Last Summer
Most of my favorite episodes are Dean centered (can you tell I'm a Dean fan?) but I loved how this episode showed how messed up Sam was following Dean's death, and the measures he took to first try to resurrect him, and then to avenge him, like John did Mary's death. I also enjoyed the Anna character, and found her to be charming. Later on, she and Dean had great chemistry. Great acting on Jared Padalecki's part. - CreatorEric KripkeStarsJared PadaleckiJensen AcklesJim BeaverTwo brothers follow their father's footsteps as hunters, fighting evil supernatural beings of many kinds, including monsters, demons, and gods that roam the earth.Season 5, Episode 8: Changing Channels
Supernatural as a sitcom? Loved this episode, and how it makes fun of pretty much everything pop culture (CSI, Grey's Anatomy, and the dreaded reality show). Good for a laugh, but with some serious moments too. All in all a solid episode. - CreatorEric KripkeStarsJared PadaleckiJensen AcklesJim BeaverTwo brothers follow their father's footsteps as hunters, fighting evil supernatural beings of many kinds, including monsters, demons, and gods that roam the earth.Season 3, Episode 11: Mystery Spot
This episode is on my top twenty because it was touching, hilarious, and just plain fun. Jared's reactions when he realizes he has to watch is brother die over and over again are touching, especially at the end of the episode. You could tell the actors, especially Jensen, were having fun with this one! - CreatorEric KripkeStarsJared PadaleckiJensen AcklesJim BeaverTwo brothers follow their father's footsteps as hunters, fighting evil supernatural beings of many kinds, including monsters, demons, and gods that roam the earth.Season 4, Episode 6: Yellow Fever
Another favorite for no reason other than it made me laugh. Jensen's girly screams are hilarious, and that added touch when he lip synchs to Eye of the Tiger after the credits rolls was a cute added bonus :) - CreatorEric KripkeStarsJared PadaleckiJensen AcklesJim BeaverTwo brothers follow their father's footsteps as hunters, fighting evil supernatural beings of many kinds, including monsters, demons, and gods that roam the earth.Season 4, Episode 16: On the Head of a Pin
This episode demonstrates what happens when the main characters go "rogue" if you will. From Sam's addiction to demon blood to Castiel's decision to follow Uriel, and (of course) Dean's act of torturing Alistair, the three brilliantly verge from the safe, and the results are impressive. - CreatorEric KripkeStarsJared PadaleckiJensen AcklesJim BeaverTwo brothers follow their father's footsteps as hunters, fighting evil supernatural beings of many kinds, including monsters, demons, and gods that roam the earth.Season 6, Episode 1: Exile on Main St.
Really enjoyed this episode for a few reasons: one, I enjoyed seeing Dean's domestic life, even though you can tell that he is grieving for Sam daily; two, the anticipation of reuniting with Sam, and three, the concept that Sammy is different. Jared's best performances are when he is evil, or in this case, soulless. Very well done. - CreatorEric KripkeStarsJared PadaleckiJensen AcklesJim BeaverTwo brothers follow their father's footsteps as hunters, fighting evil supernatural beings of many kinds, including monsters, demons, and gods that roam the earth.Season 7, Episode 1: Meet the New Boss
Castiel as God - need I say more? Great episode to kick off season 7 - CreatorEric KripkeStarsJared PadaleckiJensen AcklesJim BeaverTwo brothers follow their father's footsteps as hunters, fighting evil supernatural beings of many kinds, including monsters, demons, and gods that roam the earth.Season 7, Episode 10: Death's Door
A brilliant send off for a beloved character. The first tear jerker since season four, in my opinion. Brilliant acting on the part of Jim Beaver, especially that final scene when Sam and Dean fade before his eyes. Plus, seeing Dean's emotional breakdown is heartbreaking. Again, kudos to Jensen Ackles. - CreatorEric KripkeStarsJared PadaleckiJensen AcklesJim BeaverTwo brothers follow their father's footsteps as hunters, fighting evil supernatural beings of many kinds, including monsters, demons, and gods that roam the earth.Season 1, Episode 15: The Benders
Loved this episode because it was another demonstration of brotherly love, and that Dean will do anything to save his brother. It is true that he is doing his "job" of protecting his little brother, but you can tell that even if John hadn't asked him to take care of Sammy, Dean would have not hesitated. Beautiful performances. Plus, it was nice to see the bad guys as just humans, instead of the paranormal.
