- DirectorQuentin TarantinoStarsUma ThurmanDavid CarradineDaryl HannahAfter awakening from a four-year coma, a former assassin wreaks vengeance on the team of assassins who betrayed her.10/10: Quentin Tarantino, genius, god-child, blesses us with his sweet succor. The movie will leave you thirsting for more, and for those who don't have the sequal on hand, tense nights lying awake at night suffering from withdrawel symptons await.
Kill Bill makes every other action movie seem like a pale shadow. Heart wrenching suspence, action scenes to die for, passion and excitement, if you haven't seen it then you have not lived! - DirectorJames CameronStarsArnold SchwarzeneggerLinda HamiltonEdward FurlongA cyborg, identical to the one who failed to kill Sarah Connor, must now protect her ten year old son John from an even more advanced and powerful cyborg.9/10: Ahead of its time, Terminator 2 was the mammoth sequel that surpassed the original. The gemstone of Arnold's career, who couldn't like this emotive, suspensive, action packed thrill ride?
- DirectorJohn WooStarsTom CruiseDougray ScottThandiwe NewtonIMF agent Ethan Hunt is sent to Sydney to find and destroy a genetically modified disease called "Chimera".4/10: Predictable and ridiculous, Tom Cruise makes his presence felt. With more mask pulling off than in a scooby doo series, Mission Impossible 2 is painful to watch, unless drunk.
John Woo proves that he still has what it takes to make bad movies. - DirectorJohn WooStarsJean-Claude Van DammeLance HenriksenYancy ButlerA woman hires a drifter as her guide through New Orleans in search of her missing father. In the process, they discover a deadly game of cat and mouse behind his disappearance.2/10: Van Damme has done a lot of crap in his time, as has John Woo - now...picture in your mind them joining forces like some megatron robot team, and you have: 'Hard Target.'
Van Damme invented the book on cliche, John Woo autographed it, Van Dammme reprinted it and the two of them then took notes from it, to make a movie so shallow you couldn't store a nano-liter of cohesive plot into the dish that is the script.
If Japenese samurai have the decency to commit Sepuku when they have dishonoured their clan, then Van Damme should have the decency to construct a time machine to prevent his own birth. - DirectorFred Olen RayStarsDon WilsonBarbara SteeleAlexander KeithA CIA operative is tasked with finding and apprehending five members of a terrorist organisation, but they keep getting killed before he can bring them in.1/10: Like the explosions in Nagasaki and Hiroshima,'The Prophet' leaves behind a giant hole. This blight against humanity, this soul draining horror, is simply one in the crowd of diseased offspring born from the loins of their starring actor Don 'The Dragon' Wilson.
A bad-action-movie pimp, Don is uncaring that his bitches are ugly diseased skanks. He keeps putting them out there, day in, day out. Why? Is he blind? Perhaps...or perhaps he simply likes it this way - likes hearing people scream.
'The Prophet' teaches us one thing - there is no God. - DirectorJoel SchumacherStarsArnold SchwarzeneggerGeorge ClooneyChris O'DonnellBatman and Robin try to keep their relationship together even as they must stop Mr. Freeze and Poison Ivy from freezing Gotham City.3/10: At some point in the movie you start wishing that the real batman would come along and clean house. This embarassment to Schwarzenegger's career, and to the batman genre overall, was the one that broke the camel's back for many fans, who realised that the batman they had come to love was now some kindof McDonald's toy, exploited and cheapened until the last dregs of money could be extracted.
- DirectorJohn McTiernanStarsBruce WillisAlan RickmanBonnie BedeliaA New York City police officer tries to save his estranged wife and several others taken hostage by terrorists during a Christmas party at the Nakatomi Plaza in Los Angeles.8/10: The quintessential action movie, embodying the genre in its purest form, Die Hard is the template from which others derive. Bruce Willis dishes it up in his drawling touch guy attitude yet marriage-on-the-rocks cop. A memorable movie that you can rewatch every new year, Die Hard is de bomb.
- DirectorJames WongStarsJet LiCarla GuginoDelroy LindoA rogue Multiverse agent goes on a manhunt for alternate versions of himself, getting stronger with each kill. Only the last version of himself, an LASD cop, can stop his crusade before he becomes "The One".6/10: Some nice action and some fast moves from Jet Li, The One is impressive on occasion. However, with plot holes bigger than a mac truck, The One can leave a bitter taste in the mouth for those of us who demand intelligent justification.
- DirectorStuart BairdStarsKurt RussellHalle BerrySteven SeagalWhen terrorists seize control of an airliner, an intelligence analyst accompanies a commando unit for a midair boarding operation.7/10: Back when it was okay to make a movie about terrorists taking over airplanes, this movie got made. Dramatic, well characterised, and blessed with having Steven Seagal die off early in the show, Executive Decision is a good Saturday night watch in anyone's language(except Arab).
- DirectorRenny HarlinStarsSylvester StalloneJohn LithgowMichael RookerA botched mid-air heist results in suitcases full of cash being searched for by various groups throughout the Rocky Mountains.5/10: Not without its charm, Cliffhanger had intensity intermixed with ridiculousness. A stirling acting job, but poor character depth, leaves Cliffhanger like an undead koala, sortof interesting to watch, but ugly on the inside.
