Justice League Cast
by parker-rocks | created - 01 Aug 2012 | updated - 10 Aug 2012 | PublicThis is a list of the actors/actresses who I think would be great in a Justice League live-action movie.
I will not include anyone from the Dark Knight Trilogy as I'm trying to make it a little more realistic. I'm not making a cast for only one movie, rather a cast for a series of Justice League movies (meaning separate films and then a series of Justice League films).
I can't name all A-list actors/actresses because that would be too unrealistic. THIS IS MY PERSONAL OPINION...so don't hate. Still, feel free to give some of your thoughts and opinions.
It's not yet finished, so I'll be updating it every now and then
1. Henry Cavill
Actor | Man of Steel
Henry William Dalgliesh Cavill was born on the Bailiwick of Jersey, a British Crown dependency in the Channel Islands. His mother, Marianne (Dalgliesh), a housewife, was also born on Jersey, and is of Irish, Scottish and English ancestry. Henry's father, Colin Richard Cavill, a stockbroker, is of ...
Superman/Kal-El/Clark Kent
He's already playing Superman in the Man of Steel movie coming out in 2013, so this is a shoe-in. Although he doesn't have the height (Superman is supposed to be 6'4, Cavill is only 6'1), he's got the Superman physique.
2. Kate Beckinsale
Actress | Underworld: Evolution
Kate Beckinsale was born on 26 July 1973 in Hounslow, Middlesex, England, and has resided in London for most of her life. Her mother is Judy Loe, who has appeared in a number of British dramas and sitcoms and continues to work as an actress, predominantly in British television productions. Her ...
Wonder Woman/Princess Diana of Themyscira
She has everything it takes to be a great Wonder Woman. She's decently tall (about 5'8, 6'0 with heels), she has the slim figure, she's extremely hot, and most of all, she can kick some major ass.
3. Matt Bomer
Actor | In Time
Matthew Staton Bomer was born in Webster Groves, Greater St. Louis, Missouri, to Elizabeth Macy (Staton) and John O'Neill Bomer IV, a Dallas Cowboys draft pick. Matt was raised in Spring, Texas, and educated at Klein High School, near Houston. After school, he attended Carnegie Mellon University in...
Batman/Bruce Wayne
I originally said Jonathan Rhys Meyers, but Bomer fits the role much better. Good looks, rocks a suit like a true boss, and with training, he can play Batman. He would be a great replacement for Christian Bale.
4. Ryan Reynolds
Actor | Deadpool 2
Ryan Rodney Reynolds was born on October 23, 1976 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, the youngest of four children. His father, James Chester Reynolds, was a food wholesaler, and his mother, Tamara Lee "Tammy" (Stewart), worked as a retail-store saleswoman. He has Irish and Scottish ancestry. ...
Green Lantern (Hal Jordan)
I know Green Lantern wasn't a great movie, but Ryan Reynolds was one of the bright spots in it. I ridiculed the idea of Reynolds playing Hal at first, but he played the role pretty well. But if not Reynolds, I think Nathan Fillion would be a great choice to play Hal, considering Fillion has voiced him in the animated features and has the looks to go with the voice.
5. Ryan Gosling
Actor | Blue Valentine
Born Ryan Thomas Gosling on November 12, 1980, in London, Ontario, Canada, he is the son of Donna (Wilson), a secretary, and Thomas Ray Gosling, a traveling salesman. Ryan was the second of their two children, with an older sister, Mandi. His ancestry is French-Canadian, as well as English, ...
The Flash (Barry Allen)
After watching Drive and Ides of March, it became easier to take Gosling as a serious actor rather than a teen heartthrob. He can definitely play the role of the wise-cracking Barry Allen.
6. Carl Lumbly
Actor | Men of Honor
Carl Lumbly is an actor respected for his steadfast talent, versatility and class. His prolific career includes over 150 credits in theatre, film, television and voiceover, with extensive critical acclaim for his work.
A familiar face on television, Lumbly's most recent memorable appearance was in ...
Martian Manhunter/J'onn J'onzz
Since he'll have to be all CGI, Lumbly will only be voicing him like he did in the TV series. But he can also play one of his human forms.
7. Armie Hammer
Actor | Call Me by Your Name
Armand Douglas Hammer was born in Los Angeles, California, to Dru Ann (Mobley) and Michael Armand Hammer, a businessman. His great-grandfather, Armand Hammer, was a prominent tycoon and philanthropist who ran the company Occidental Petroleum for many decades. Armie's ancestry includes ...
Aquaman/Arthur Curry
He looks like a pretty good fit for Aquaman to me.
8. Bruce Willis
Actor | Die Hard
Actor and musician Bruce Willis is well known for playing wisecracking or hard-edged characters, often in spectacular action films. Collectively, he has appeared in films that have grossed in excess of $2.5 billion USD.
Walter Bruce Willis was born on March 19, 1955, in Idar-Oberstein, West Germany,...
Lex Luthor
Do I really need an explanation for this one, Willis would be perfect as Luthor. I also think Billy Zane would be another good fit for Luthor.
9. Michael Clarke Duncan
Actor | The Green Mile
Michael Clarke Duncan was born on December 10, 1957 in Chicago, Illinois. Raised on Chicago's South Side by his single mother, Jean, a house cleaner, Duncan grew up resisting drugs and alcohol, instead concentrating on school. He wanted to play football in high school, but his mother wouldn't let ...
Darkseid
Darkseid will be an all-CGI character, so Duncan would only be voicing. He can also voice Kilowog like he did in Green Lantern or even Gorilla Grodd in a Flash movie.
10. Corey Burton
Actor | Atlantis: The Lost Empire
Corey Burton is an American voice actor with Asperger's. He is known for voicing Mole in Atlantis: The Lost Empire and Atlantis: Milo's Return, Captain Hook in Return to Neverland and Kingdom Hearts, Count Dooku in various Star Wars media whenever Christopher Lee is unavailable, Hugo Strange in ...
Brainiac
Another voice-only role. He has done the voice of Brainiac a lot, so it would make sense.
11. Mark Strong
Actor | 1917
British actor Mark Strong, who played Jim Prideaux in the 2011 remake of Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy (2011), is often cast as cold, calculating villains. But before he became a famous actor, he intended to pursue a career in law.
Strong was born Marco Giuseppe Salussolia in London, England, to an ...
Sinestro
He played the role of Sinestro very well in Green Lantern so I would expect him to reprise the role. Strong could also play a pretty good Lex Luthor if he wasn't going to play Sinestro.
12. Johnny Depp
Actor | Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl
John Christopher "Johnny" Depp II was born on June 9, 1963 in Owensboro, Kentucky, to Betty Sue Palmer (née Wells), a waitress, and John Christopher Depp, a civil engineer. He was raised in Florida. He dropped out of school when he was 15, and fronted a series of music-garage bands, including one ...
The Joker
It will be almost impossible to follow up Heath Ledger's iconic performance. But Depp can play almost any role, especially when that guy is a crazy lunatic. Just a reminder, the fans originally wanted him to play the Joker in The Dark Knight.
13. Michael Shannon
Actor | Take Shelter
Michael Corbett Shannon was born and raised in Lexington, Kentucky, the son of Geraldine Hine, a lawyer, and Donald Sutherlin Shannon, an accounting professor at DePaul University. His grandfather was entomologist Raymond Corbett Shannon.
Shannon began his professional stage career in Chicago. His ...
General Zod
He's playing Zod in Man of Steel for those of you who may or may not know. From the stills that I have seen from Man of Steel, he looks pretty good as Zod.
14. Brandon Routh
Actor | Superman Returns
Brandon James Routh (pronounced like "south") was born in Des Moines, Iowa, and grew up in nearby Norwalk. He is the son of Catherine (Lear), a teacher, and Ronald Routh, a carpenter. He has English, Scottish, and German ancestry. Brandon attended the University of Iowa and starred in many ...
Captain Marvel
The way he played Superman in Superman Returns wasn't bad, but the cheesy Chris Reeves-like performance would fit Captain Marvel more than Superman in today's day and age. But Captain Marvel will most likely not have his own movie and will be introduced in one of the Superman movies.
15. Thomas Horn
Actor | Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close
Thomas Horn won on "Jeopardy!" during Kids Week with an earning of 31,000 after wagering 12,000 during Final Jeopardy. His acting career kicked off when he was cast in the feature film Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, which was based on the 2005 novel by Jonathan S. Foer. This drama received a ...
Billy Batson
We can't have Captain Marvel without Billy Batson. Horn has some similarities to Routh (or maybe it's just me) so I think that would work out alright.
16. Charlie Hunnam
Actor | Sons of Anarchy
Charles Matthew Hunnam was born on April 10, 1980 in Newcastle, England, to Jane (Bell), a business owner, and William Hunnam, a scrap metal merchant. At 18 years of age, he made a guest appearance in popular TV series Byker Grove (1989).
He gained fame in Britain thanks to his television role as ...
Green Arrow/Olive Queen
I think he could pull this off easily. Again, I don't think Green Arrow and Black Canary will have their own movie, rather be introduced (most likely) in one of the future Batman movies
17. Yvonne Strahovski
Actress | Stateless
Yvonne Jaqueline Strzechowski was born and raised in Australia. Her parents were Polish immigrants. She attended the Santa Sabina College for her high school education. She then went on to study Performance at the University of Western Sydney's School of Contemporary Arts, graduating in 2003. ...
Black Canary/Dinah Lance
Blonde hair, pretty attractive, and can kick ass, lock her in for that role. I was initially going to say Diana Agron because she had the looks, but she's not an action-movie type of actress.
18. Bryan Cranston
Actor | Breaking Bad
Bryan Lee Cranston was born on March 7, 1956 in Hollywood, California, to Audrey Peggy Sell, a radio actress, and Joe Cranston, an actor and former amateur boxer. His maternal grandparents were German, and his father was of Irish, German, and Austrian-Jewish ancestry. He was raised in the Canoga ...
Commissioner James Gordon
When he sported the crop duster 'stache and the glasses in Breaking Bad, I thought he looked exactly like Gordon. He even voiced Gordon in the animated film Batman: Year One.
19. Amy Adams
Actress | Arrival
Amy Lou Adams was born in Vicenza, Veneto, Italy, to American parents, Kathryn (Hicken) and Richard Kent Adams, a U.S. serviceman who was stationed at Caserma Ederle in Italy at the time. She was raised in a Mormon family of seven children in Castle Rock, Colorado, and has English, as well as ...
Lois Lane
Although I don't like her as Lois Lane, she's already playing (a red-headed) Lois in Man of Steel, so this is another shoe-in. Don't get me wrong I think Amy Adams is very attractive and a good actress, I just don't think she's the type to play Lois.
20. Russell Crowe
Actor | Les Misérables
Russell Ira Crowe was born in Wellington, New Zealand, to Jocelyn Yvonne (Wemyss) and John Alexander Crowe, both of whom catered movie sets. His maternal grandfather, Stanley Wemyss, was a cinematographer. Crowe's recent ancestry includes Welsh (where his paternal grandfather was born, in Wrexham),...
Jor-El
Another shoe-in, from what I've seen so far from Man of Steel, I think he won't be bad as Jor-El.
21. Laura Vandervoort
Actress | The Handmaid's Tale
Born in Toronto, Canada, Laura Vandervoort is a versatile actress who not only crosses over genres, but also transforms from character to character embracing the essence of every role she plays. Best known for her roles on the television shows "Smallville" as Supergirl, and "V," Laura has built an ...
Supergirl/Kara Zor-El
She played Kara in Smallville and she looked great doing so.
22. Kelsey Grammer
Actor | Cheers
A six-time Emmy Award winner, Kelsey Grammer was born in Saint Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, to Sally (Cranmer), a singer, and Frank Allen Grammer, Jr., a musician and restaurateur, who were from the mainland. He was raised in New Jersey and Florida. Grammer was drawn to the works of William ...
Perry White
Yeah I know Laurence Fishburne is playing Perry in Man of Steel, but Kelsey Grammer would be a better fit in my opinion.
23. Christopher Plummer
Actor | Beginners
Legendary actor Christopher Plummer, perhaps Canada's greatest thespian, delivered outstanding performances as Sherlock Holmes in Murder by Decree (1979), the chilling villain in The Silent Partner (1978), the iconoclastic Mike Wallace in The Insider (1999), the empathetic psychiatrist in A ...
Alfred Pennyworth
Michael Caine played the role magnificently in the Dark Knight Trilogy, but I think Chris Plummer can do it just as well.
24. Serinda Swan
Actress | Coroner
Serinda Swan can be seen as the female lead in the second season of Amazon's hit show Reacher.
While her considerable appeal and presence have landed her roles in tent-poles like Disney's Tron and Fox's Percy Jackson franchise, it's Serinda's intelligence, good humor and athleticism that garnered ...
Zatanna
She played the role in Smallville. Plus, she's hot and she can rock a top hat and skimpy magician outfit.
25. Daniel Day-Lewis
Actor | There Will Be Blood
Born in London, England, Daniel Michael Blake Day-Lewis is the second child of Cecil Day-Lewis, Poet Laureate of the U.K., and his second wife, actress Jill Balcon. His maternal grandfather was Sir Michael Balcon, an important figure in the history of British cinema and head of the famous Ealing ...
Ra's Al Ghul
He's an amazing actor and the role will just be natural to him.
26. Stana Katic
Actress | Castle
Stana Katic recently starred in the TV series, Absentia, streaming on Amazon. It's a thriller-drama produced by Sony Pictures Television. Upon debut it was one of Amazon's top-ten most popular programs.
Stana's feature film work includes, CBGB, Big Sur, The Spirit, Feast of Love, The Double and Bond...
Talia Al Ghul
She voiced Talia in the Arkham City video game, and she has the looks and ass-kicking ability to fit the role
27. Edward Norton
Actor | Fight Club
American actor, filmmaker and activist Edward Harrison Norton was born on August 18, 1969, in Boston, Massachusetts, and was raised in Columbia, Maryland.
His mother, Lydia Robinson "Robin" (Rouse), was a foundation executive and teacher of English, and a daughter of famed real estate developer ...
Two-Face
I just have a feeling he could be a great Harvey Dent/Two-Face.
28. Logan Lerman
Actor | The Perks of Being a Wallflower
One of today's leading talents across both independent and mainstream film, Logan Lerman is an immensely talented actor who takes on challenging roles and brings dynamic characters to life on screen.
Logan was born in Beverly Hills, to a Jewish family. His parents are Lisa (Goldman), who worked as ...
Jimmy Olsen
He's not a ginger like Jimmy is, but if we can have a redhead Lois, why not a Jimmy with dark hair. I think he can play a pretty good Jimmy...JIMMEH!!!!
