Foreign films seen in the USSR

These were some rare films, which were allowed by Soviet censors. Censorship was not only political (e.g. criticism of the USA, but not of the USSR), but also aesthetic (e.g. an interesting plot, good acting) and moral (e.g. absence of nudity). Fortunately, almost all Western films shown in the USSR were of good quality, they sparked an interest in the Soviet audience in all things Western and can be recommended to viewing also today.
