- DirectorChristopher NolanStarsChristian BaleMichael CaineKen WatanabeAfter witnessing his parents' death, Bruce learns the art of fighting to confront injustice. When he returns to Gotham as Batman, he must stop a secret society that intends to destroy the city.Best Superhero origin story I've seen. Has good character motives and handles it's themes very well. 9/10
- DirectorChristopher NolanStarsChristian BaleHeath LedgerAaron EckhartWhen the menace known as the Joker wreaks havoc and chaos on the people of Gotham, Batman must accept one of the greatest psychological and physical tests of his ability to fight injustice. One of my personal favorite movies. The acting is great, and it has so many unforgettable moments. All while introducing and exploring complex themes. Best superhero movie I've seen. 9/10
- DirectorChristopher NolanStarsChristian BaleTom HardyAnne HathawayEight years after the Joker's reign of chaos, Batman is coerced out of exile with the assistance of the mysterious Selina Kyle in order to defend Gotham City from the vicious guerrilla terrorist Bane. Not as good as the other two in the trilogy, but still has great moments. Producing a satisfying conclusion to a great trilogy. 8/10
- DirectorTimothy A. CheyStarsMiles SlomanJerald SokolowskiPaul HughesThis epic movie filmed in North Africa and London follows young shepherd David as he takes on the mighty warrior Goliath against all odds.Legitimately the worst move I have ever seen in my life. Produced with the same quality as a high school project, this movie is worth watching just for how bad everything about it is. The fact that it had a 50 million dollar budget only makes this movies quality even more egregious. 0/10
- DirectorAlfred HitchcockStarsAnthony PerkinsJanet LeighVera MilesA Phoenix secretary embezzles $40,000 from her employer's client, goes on the run and checks into a remote motel run by a young man under the domination of his mother.Horror done right. This movie doesn't rely on cheap-in-the-moment scary jump scares. it builds suspense as the movie plays out. The great directing and acting make this even better. 9/10
- DirectorCatherine HardwickeStarsKristen StewartRobert PattinsonBilly BurkeWhen Bella Swan moves to a small town in the Pacific Northwest, she falls in love with Edward Cullen, a mysterious classmate who reveals himself to be a 108-year-old vampire.Though not as bad as some may say, this film falls flat due to it's poorly written characters that stalls any chance of crafting an interesting narrative. Taking it's goofy premise too seriously also helps create some unintentional funny moments in this movie. 4/10
- DirectorChristopher NolanStarsMatthew McConaugheyAnne HathawayJessica ChastainWhen Earth becomes uninhabitable in the future, a farmer and ex-NASA pilot, Joseph Cooper, is tasked to pilot a spacecraft, along with a team of researchers, to find a new planet for humans. This movie is beautifully made with an intriguing premise, but a confusing ending and cliches in some of it's themes bring down an otherwise great movie. 8/10
- DirectorZack SnyderStarsBen AffleckHenry CavillAmy AdamsBatman is manipulated by Lex Luthor to fear Superman. Superman´s existence is meanwhile dividing the world and he is framed for murder during an international crisis. The heroes clash and force the neutral Wonder Woman to reemerge. This movie is a mess. Character are all unlikable and motives are not fleshed out enough. Cool action sequences can't save this movie's messy, unbelievable plot. 4/10
- DirectorJon WattsStarsTom HollandMichael KeatonRobert Downey Jr.Peter Parker balances his life as an ordinary high school student in Queens with his superhero alter-ego Spider-Man, and finds himself on the trail of a new menace prowling the skies of New York City.Great coming of age story packed into a superhero blockbuster. This movie is primarily driven by Tom Holland's charm and charisma as a lovable, young Spider-Man. 8/10
- DirectorZack SnyderStarsHenry CavillAmy AdamsMichael ShannonAn alien child is evacuated from his dying world and sent to Earth to live among humans. His peace is threatened when other survivors of his home planet invade Earth.I feel like this movie trades action and visuals for character development. The best scenes are flashbacks that seem to rushed so we can get to some more tiresome over-the-top action sequences. Good potential here, but poorly executed. 6/10
- DirectorSam RaimiStarsTobey MaguireKirsten DunstWillem DafoeAfter being bitten by a genetically-modified spider, a shy teenager gains spider-like abilities that he uses to fight injustice as a masked superhero and face a vengeful enemy.Although some of the effects and CGI may look a little dated, this movie was pretty revolutionary at the time is a nice heart a feel to it. Tobey Maguire is a likable Peter Parker and easy to root for. 7/10
- DirectorSam RaimiStarsTobey MaguireKirsten DunstAlfred MolinaPeter Parker is beset with troubles in his failing personal life as he battles a former brilliant scientist named Otto Octavius. This was definitely the high point of the original Spider-Man trilogy. Well fleshed out characters and actions make this one of the more memorable superhero blockbusters. Alfred Molina especially turns in a great performance here as Doctor Octopus. 8/10
- DirectorPeyton ReedStarsPaul RuddMichael DouglasCorey StollArmed with a super-suit with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, cat burglar Scott Lang must embrace his inner hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym, pull off a plan that will save the world.Aided by a charming performance from Paul Rudd, Ant-Man stands out from other similar MCU movies with unique CGI sequences and humor. 8/10
- DirectorJames GunnStarsChris PrattVin DieselBradley CooperA group of intergalactic criminals must pull together to stop a fanatical warrior with plans to purge the universe.I found this one to be a bit overrated. The characters are fun and likable enough, but this movie doesn't feel like it brings anything new to the table that we haven't already seen a lot of in other sci-fi/MCU movies. 7/10
- DirectorKevin SorboStarsKevin SorboSam SorboDaniel RoebuckAn atheist goes through a near-death experience in a car accident before converting to Christianity. This one was just terrible. The characters were laughably over the top. The plot was ridiculous. The acting was terrible apart from Kevin Sorbo. The one main CGI sequence was so poorly rendered that I almost burst out laughing the first time I saw it. The only passable part about this movie was the cinematography and lighting. 1.5/10
- DirectorMatt MitchellStarsAudrey BattahChristopher HouldsworthAmy MitchellSome friends enjoy an out-of-town rock concert. After some eerie events at their hotel, the friends abandon their night of rest and decide to drive thru the night back to their hometown several hours away. However, someone or something follows them home. After a seemingly uneventful school day, events unfold that find the lead character alone at the Mall later that evening. As the night closes in, the mall closes, and we find our heroine mysteriously trapped inside. However, she is not alone. It will take her resolute strength and unflinching faith (and a few shocking "miracles" along the way) for her to escape the night. This movie is one of the worst I've ever seen. The christian horror genre is a really funny one that is either doesn't try to be scary or goes too over the top trying to be scary. The acting, story, and cinematography are all horrendous. The plot twist at the end is the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen in a movie. 0.5/10
- DirectorMatt MitchellStarsChristopher HouldsworthAmy MitchellAndrea MoodyContinue the heart-pounding suspense of Pray, as the thrill ride mystery movies into the woods! Pray 2: The Woods is guaranteed to keep its viewers clinging to the edge of their seats.Absolutely horrendous. Stupid plot, with terrible characters with the worst cinematic quality you can get. This movie gets nothing right and everything wrong. 0.5/10
- DirectorMatt MitchellStarsElliana EsquivelAmy MitchellMadeline OrmandAutumn leaves gently rustle in the October breeze as the days shorten, and the nights grow darker. It's been three peaceful years since evil walked the streets in the sleepy town of Smithfield. Laurie Curtis and her family have finally put the nightmare of the mysterious masked villain behind them, and life has returned to normal...until tonight. While a raging storm is heading toward them, Laurie and her husband, Michael, attempt to enjoy a quiet dinner out with friends. At home, their favorite teenage babysitter keeps an eye on their precious children. The growing storm isn't the only thing that threatens the safety of their home tonight. The sinister shape is back! The storm cuts off all access to the infamous Curtis house, and now the race is on to rescue the children and their sitter! Will faith conquer fear once again? From the team that brought you Paranormal and the previous Pray films, comes the latest faith-friendly thriller from Cross Shadow Productions! Once again, CSP delivers the perfect uplifting alternative to the typical secular Hollywood horror movie. Full of heart-pounding suspense and stunning 3D images, nothing will prepare you for the white-knuckle roller coaster ride that awaits you in Pray 3D: The Storm!Third movie in this awful trilogy, and almost nothing has improved. The acting quality is slightly better, but that could only go up. Once again, nothing in this train wreck is done well and it is as laughable as the christian horror genre it belongs in. 0.5/10
- DirectorJon FavreauStarsRobert Downey Jr.Gwyneth PaltrowTerrence HowardAfter being held captive in an Afghan cave, billionaire engineer Tony Stark creates a unique weaponized suit of armor to fight evil.Solid movie, but Robert Downey Jr. totally carries this movie on his back. Without him, this would turn into a B grade action flick. The antagonist amounts to nothing more than the greedy corporate villain who is out to take control of the company, which makes him extremely forgettable. 7/10
- DirectorVictor FlemingKing VidorStarsJudy GarlandFrank MorganRay BolgerYoung Dorothy Gale and her dog Toto are swept away by a tornado from their Kansas farm to the magical Land of Oz, and embark on a quest with three new friends to see the Wizard, who can return her to her home and fulfill the others' wishes.A real classic. Lots of iconic songs and lines make this film quite unforgettable. 9/10
- DirectorAnthony RussoJoe RussoStarsChris EvansSamuel L. JacksonScarlett JohanssonAs Steve Rogers struggles to embrace his role in the modern world, he teams up with a fellow Avenger and S.H.I.E.L.D agent, Black Widow, to battle a new threat from history: an assassin known as the Winter Soldier.More of a spy action thriller than most MCU movies, I found this one to be high on the visuals but low on the story. The characters were decent, but not that great. I felt no reason to care about Steve and Buckey's friendship even after the seeing the first Captain America movie. 6.5/10
- DirectorDarren AronofskyStarsRussell CroweJennifer ConnellyAnthony HopkinsNoah is chosen by God to undertake a momentous mission before an apocalyptic flood cleanses the world. This is an odd one. While boasting solid visuals and interesting source material, this one falls short with a really contrived and poorly thought out third act. Would benefit if you just cut the forced conflict of the third act out of the movie. 5/10
- DirectorMarc WebbStarsAndrew GarfieldEmma StoneRhys IfansAfter Peter Parker is bitten by a genetically altered spider, he gains newfound, spider-like powers and ventures out to save the city from the machinations of a mysterious reptilian foe.A by the book origin story, that focuses too much on Peter's parents, and not enough on more important motivations to become Spider-Man. Sporting a mediocre villain, nice visuals aren't enough to save this one from mediocrity. 6/10
- DirectorMarc WebbStarsAndrew GarfieldEmma StoneJamie FoxxWhen New York is put under siege by Oscorp, it is up to Spider-Man to save the city he swore to protect as well as his loved ones. This sequal ups the light heartedness, and focuses on too many boring sub plots. Over crowded by terribly motivated villains, this film is a misfire. 4/10
- DirectorChris McKayStarsWill ArnettMichael CeraRosario DawsonA cooler-than-ever Bruce Wayne must deal with the usual suspects as they plan to rule Gotham City, while discovering that he has accidentally adopted a teenage orphan who wishes to become his sidekick. This movie is so much better then it should be. There's plenty here for children and adults. This movie serves more as a tribute to the batman character. 8/10
- DirectorChris WeitzStarsKristen StewartRobert PattinsonTaylor LautnerAfter Edward leaves because of an incident involving Bella, Jacob Black becomes her best friend. But what Bella doesn't realize is that Jacob also has a secret that will change their lives suddenly.Bland characters you don't care about return in this sequal and are made even worse by the development of this obviously obsessive and unhealthy relationship. Probably the worst offense of this movie is how boring and drawn out it is. The character development that is given only makes the protagonists more unlikable. Bad acting make the clunky script only worse. 3/10
- DirectorDavid SladeStarsKristen StewartRobert PattinsonTaylor LautnerAs a string of mysterious killings grips Seattle, Bella, whose high school graduation is fast approaching, is forced to choose between her love for vampire Edward and her friendship with werewolf Jacob. This movie does not improve upon the flaws of the previous ones in any way, and instead focuses on a terrible love triangle that we have yet to be given any reason to care about. The one improvement in this installment is pacing and structure, however these are not enough to save this movie from it's other flaws like bad plot line and bad acting. 3/10
- DirectorBill CondonStarsKristen StewartRobert PattinsonTaylor LautnerThe Quileutes close in on expecting parents Edward and Bella, whose unborn child poses a threat to the Wolf Pack and the towns people of Forks.Even more boring then the previous installments, this movie continues the flaws of the previous movies like lack of character development and character depth, and continues an uninteresting narrative that only die-hards of the franchise will likely enjoy. 3/10
- DirectorBill CondonStarsKristen StewartRobert PattinsonTaylor LautnerAfter the birth of Renesmee/Nessie, the Cullens gather other vampire clans in order to protect the child from a false allegation that puts the family in front of the Volturi. The climax of the saga is probably one of the most one-sided movies I've seen - there is obviously not enough story here to justify breaking this into two parts. This movie plays it safe and tries to take risks with an ending twist that falls mostly flat due to the said unwillingness to take chances. 3/10
- DirectorTim BurtonStarsMichael KeatonJack NicholsonKim BasingerThe Dark Knight of Gotham City begins his war on crime with his first major enemy being Jack Napier, a criminal who becomes the clownishly homicidal Joker.A more dark, eerie spectatcle compared to the predecessors, this movie works because of Jack Nicholson fun, yet sometimes dark/violent performance as the Joker. 7/10
- DirectorJoss WhedonStarsRobert Downey Jr.Chris EvansScarlett JohanssonEarth's mightiest heroes must come together and learn to fight as a team if they are going to stop the mischievous Loki and his alien army from enslaving humanity.A fun team up that connected the varying characters in the MCU for the first time. Solid action movie and a serious crowd pleaser, this movie succeeds at what it set out to do. 7.5/10
- DirectorChristopher NolanStarsLeonardo DiCaprioJoseph Gordon-LevittElliot PageA thief who steals corporate secrets through the use of dream-sharing technology is given the inverse task of planting an idea into the mind of a C.E.O., but his tragic past may doom the project and his team to disaster. This movie has an interesting premise. Although this movie tends to dump a lot of exposition on you, most of it may be necessary to understand what it going on. Overall, this movie is meticulously crafted and works well making an enjoyable experience with some pretty cool scenes and ideas. 9/10
- DirectorSteven SpielbergStarsHarrison FordSean ConneryAlison DoodyIn 1938, after his father goes missing while pursuing the Holy Grail, Indiana Jones finds himself up against the Nazis again to stop them from obtaining its powers.A good fun, adventure flick. With some fun, lovable characters. This movie gets everything you want in an Indiana Jones movie right. 8/10
- DirectorBryan SingerStarsPatrick StewartHugh JackmanIan McKellenIn a world where mutants (evolved super-powered humans) exist and are discriminated against, two groups form for an inevitable clash: the supremacist Brotherhood, and the pacifist X-Men.Decent superhero flick, especially for the time. One of the weaknesses of having to balance so many characters is they don't get much development, but the casting and performances are good. CGI looks dated, but that is true for pretty much anything made in 2000. 7/10
- DirectorSam RaimiStarsTobey MaguireKirsten DunstTopher GraceA strange black entity from another world bonds with Peter Parker and causes inner turmoil as he contends with new villains, temptations, and revenge. The biggest flaw in this movie is quite simple: it tries to do way to much and as a result, handles everything in a subpar manner. Too many villains, to many subplots, and not enough time to give them all the development they deserve. 6/10
- DirectorRidley ScottStarsChristian BaleJoel EdgertonBen KingsleyThe defiant leader Moses rises up against Egyptian Pharaoh Ramses II, setting six hundred thousand slaves on a monumental journey of escape from Egypt and its terrifying cycle of deadly plagues. This is sloppy movie. This movie seems to sacrifice all story for just plot points. Almost no character development makes me apathetic to what happens to the characters. Nice visuals can't save this messy movie. 3/10
- DirectorSteven SpielbergStarsRoy ScheiderRobert ShawRichard DreyfussWhen a killer shark unleashes chaos on a beach community off Cape Cod, it's up to a local sheriff, a marine biologist, and an old seafarer to hunt the beast down.Great horror/thriller movie. Interesting characters and well crafted suspense make this movie very memorable and enjoyable. 8/10
- DirectorFrancis Ford CoppolaStarsMarlon BrandoAl PacinoJames CaanThe aging patriarch of an organized crime dynasty transfers control of his clandestine empire to his reluctant son.Fantastic movie. Everything about this movie is great: the acting, the story, the characters, the cinematography. All of this comes together under Coppola's great directing. One of the best movies ever made and a personal favorite of mine. 10/10
- DirectorFrancis Ford CoppolaStarsAl PacinoRobert De NiroRobert DuvallThe early life and career of Vito Corleone in 1920s New York City is portrayed, while his son, Michael, expands and tightens his grip on the family crime syndicate.Another fantastic movie and an even better sequel. This movie continues the story of the great characters from the previous movie and continue to develop them in interesting ways. Very memorable film that is not afraid to end on a sad note. 9.5/10
- DirectorDuane McCoyStarsErin RobinsonMelissa FarleyDaniel SpaldingThe end has come, and a New World Order has arisen. Demi and Christen find themselves living in the apocalyptic era, foretold in the Holy Bible. Now three years already, since the inception of the New World Order. This movie is just terrible. The production team obviously did not have the means to create what the script called for. The acting, directing, and production quality is bad. However, they did have more guts with their ending then most Christian film makers so I will give them credit for that. 2/10
- DirectorMichael RitchieStarsWalter MatthauTatum O'NealVic MorrowAn aging, down-on-his-luck ex-minor leaguer coaches a team of misfits in an ultra-competitive California little league. If you've ever played Little League baseball, this movie will be a treat. This movie is a charming look at a terrible Little League baseball team and is full of relatable characters and plot points. 7/10
- DirectorBryan SingerStarsPatrick StewartIan McKellenHugh JackmanThe X-Men send Wolverine to the past in a desperate effort to change history and prevent an event that results in doom for both humans and mutants. One of the better marvel movies out there. Much darker then the other X-Men movies, it excels with good casting and well developed characters. Cinematography also stands out and helps make the movie better. 8/10
- DirectorGuillermo del ToroStarsIdris ElbaCharlie HunnamRinko KikuchiAs a war between humankind and monstrous sea creatures wages on, a former pilot and a trainee are paired up to drive a seemingly obsolete special weapon in a desperate effort to save the world from the apocalypse. The story and characters of this movie are mediocre at best. The visuals, however, are the main draw to this movie, which admittedly are impressive. The visuals will make this movie entertaining, but from a film standpoint this is not a very good movie 6/10
- DirectorRupert SandersStarsKristen StewartChris HemsworthCharlize TheronIn a twist to the fairy tale, the Huntsman ordered to take Snow White into the woods to be killed winds up becoming her protector and mentor in a quest to vanquish the Evil Queen. This movie was decent, but it's greatest weakness is it's protagonist. She is never really developed - instead we get a bunch of exposition dumps about her. The huntsman ended up getting most of the development and as a result was a much better character. The visuals were good, but visuals do not make a movie good in this viewers opinion. I couldn't help but think they tried to mimic other better fantasy movies like Lord of the Rings. 6/10
- DirectorMark Steven JohnsonStarsNicolas CageEva MendesSam ElliottWhen motorcycle rider Johnny Blaze sells his soul to the Devil to save his father's life, he is transformed into the Ghost Rider, the Devil's own bounty hunter, and is sent to hunt down sinners. This movie was pretty bad. The story was mostly and silly while the movie expected you to take it mostly seriously. There were a lot of unintentional funny moments in this movie. The CGI looked very cheap and fake, only adding to the silliness effect. While (mostly) entertaining, this movie has way to many problems to be good. 4/10
- DirectorAlfred HitchcockStarsRod TaylorTippi HedrenJessica TandyA wealthy San Francisco socialite pursues a potential boyfriend to a small Northern California town that slowly takes a turn for the bizarre when birds of all kinds suddenly begin to attack people. This film was quite creepy. Great direction from Alfred Hitchcock made the build up towards the ending very good. The end of the movie was very haunting. Pretty good acting and writing. 8/10
- DirectorFrank DarabontStarsTim RobbinsMorgan FreemanBob GuntonOver the course of several years, two convicts form a friendship, seeking consolation and, eventually, redemption through basic compassion. This movie is full of cliches yet somehow feels very fresh and not cheesy at all. The ending scene as well as the escape scene in the rain made me want to stand up and cheer. Very good performances and careful direction make this a great movie. 9/10
- DirectorOrson WellesStarsOrson WellesJoseph CottenDorothy ComingoreFollowing the death of publishing tycoon Charles Foster Kane, reporters scramble to uncover the meaning of his final utterance: 'Rosebud.'Probably one of, if not the best films ever made. Great story, great writing, great performance from Orson Welles, and great and innovative cinematography. This movie was so far ahead of it's time. The ending gives me chills every time. 10/10
- DirectorVictor FlemingGeorge CukorSam WoodStarsClark GableVivien LeighThomas MitchellA sheltered and manipulative Southern belle and a roguish profiteer face off in a turbulent romance as the society around them crumbles with the end of slavery and is rebuilt during the Civil War and Reconstruction periods.Another great classic film. The scale and scope of this movie is still impressive today. The length makes you feel like you've really been through a lot with the protagonist. Very good acting brings this story to life very well. 9/10
- DirectorShane BlackStarsRobert Downey Jr.Guy PearceGwyneth PaltrowWhen Tony Stark's world is torn apart by a formidable terrorist called the Mandarin, he starts an odyssey of rebuilding and retribution.Yet another MCU movie on this list. This one was alright, although by the third time around Robert Downey Jr. isn't quite as fun to watch as the first time. Annoying and confusing antagonists also hinder this from becoming a great action flick, although there is still plenty of entertainment value here. 7/10
- DirectorSteven SpielbergStarsHarrison FordCate BlanchettShia LaBeoufIndiana Jones becomes entangled in a Soviet plot to uncover the secret behind mysterious artifacts known as the Crystal Skulls.I don't think this movie deserves all the hate it receives. It's not very different from any of the other Indiana Jones flicks. Although by the fourth time around the same basic formula makes this movie slightly uninteresting. 7/10
- DirectorTaika WaititiStarsChris HemsworthTom HiddlestonCate BlanchettImprisoned on the planet Sakaar, Thor must race against time to return to Asgard and stop Ragnarök, the destruction of his world, at the hands of the powerful and ruthless villain Hela. One of the best MCU movies I've seen. This movie is genuinely funny and undermines a lot of expectations. Who would of thought that taking Thor through the comedic route would yield such good results. 8/10
- DirectorGuy HamiltonStarsSean ConneryGert FröbeHonor BlackmanWhile investigating a gold magnate's smuggling, James Bond uncovers a plot to contaminate the Fort Knox gold reserve. One of the best spy flicks around. Plenty of now iconic moments in this one. Sean Connery plays James Bond very well in this film. Lots of expected fun and action in this one. 8/10
- DirectorMark NeveldineBrian TaylorStarsNicolas CageCiarán HindsIdris ElbaJohnny Blaze, tortured by the Ghost Rider's curse, gets a chance of redemption through protecting the Devil's son, whose father is pursuing him. This movie is just plain awful. The cinematography is shaky and weird, the CGI somehow managed to get worse then the first one, and literally no time must have been put into writing the script. The characters have almost no development whatsoever. It even has less funny and entertaining moments then the last one. 2/10
- DirectorMarc ForsterStarsEwan McGregorHayley AtwellBronte CarmichaelA working-class family man, Christopher Robin, encounters his childhood friend Winnie-the-Pooh, who helps him to rediscover the joys of life.If you have any history interacting with the source material, them this movie will be very touching. Although this movie was pretty predictable, it told the story it set out to tell about as good as you can. 8/10
- DirectorGeorge MillerStarsTom HardyCharlize TheronNicholas HoultIn a post-apocalyptic wasteland, a woman rebels against a tyrannical ruler in search for her homeland with the aid of a group of female prisoners, a psychotic worshiper and a drifter named Max.I found this movie mostly overrated. Although the movie looked gorgeous and had some amazingly choreographed action and chase sequences, the story and characters fell flat due to little development. Although this movie did some things really well, this crucial weakness drags the entire thing down for me. 6/10
- DirectorMel GibsonStarsMel GibsonSophie MarceauPatrick McGoohanScottish warrior William Wallace leads his countrymen in a rebellion to free his homeland from the tyranny of King Edward I of England. This movie had some great emotional moments. The fighting and battles were also handled well. However, sometimes this movie got a bit melodramatic and a slightly over the top evil king Edward drags down and otherwise great emotional drama. 7/10
- DirectorRichard LowryStarsBlair BestenJacqueline BudaDagmar EdwardsWhen an apocalyptic event strikes, a group of people caught on the outside of civilization must take a perilous journey to find refuge. This "movie" was hilariously bad. Awful CGI they had no business attempting in the first place contributes a lot of laughs. The characters have no development or personality, and the acting was rubbish. 1/10
- DirectorJohn FordStarsHenry FondaJane DarwellJohn CarradineAn Oklahoma family, driven off their farm by the poverty and hopelessness of the Dust Bowl, joins the westward migration to California, suffering the misfortunes of the homeless in the Great Depression. This movie was pretty good, and had a good look at the Great Depression. The acting and characters were good, and the b/w cinematography looked good too. It did start slowly and dragged at a few places, though, which is probably it's biggest flaw. 8/10
- DirectorMartin ScorseseStarsRobert De NiroCathy MoriartyJoe PesciThe life of boxer Jake LaMotta, whose violence and temper that led him to the top in the ring destroyed his life outside of it.This movie was a mixed bag to me. The b/w cinematography was some of the best I've seen and the boxing scenes were beautifully shot. The acting was great, but the movie tended to drag a lot. The characters were pretty good, but could be slightly improved and could have been more interesting. Overall, there was a lot to like, but i found this movie slightly overrated. 7/10
- DirectorBrad BirdStarsCraig T. NelsonSamuel L. JacksonHolly HunterWhile trying to lead a quiet suburban life, a family of undercover superheroes are forced into action to save the world.Fun superhero flick that all ages can enjoy. The characters are interesting and funny making this an enjoyable experience. 8/10
- DirectorJoss WhedonStarsRobert Downey Jr.Chris EvansMark RuffaloWhen Tony Stark and Bruce Banner try to jump-start a dormant peacekeeping program called Ultron, things go horribly wrong and it's up to Earth's mightiest heroes to stop the villainous Ultron from enacting his terrible plan.Decent follow up to the previous Avengers movie. The plot and character arcs are far too similar to the first one. The CGI and special effects are top notch as you would expect from a marvel movie like this. Ultron makes a somewhat different villain, although his motivations are boring and cliche. 7.5/10
- DirectorJeff MorrisonStarsJulie ClarkRandy ClarkMichaila ClarkTensions mount as a nuclear bomb is detonated on U. S. soil. The people in a small city in Arizona are forced to confront their hopes, fears and faith as the world teeters on the brink of mass destruction. One of the worst atrocities I've ever witnessed. This church home video can hardly be called a film. The movie never introduced are did anything with it's endless loads of card board cut out characters. Most of the plot happens off screen in an embarrassing way due to the non existent budget. The acting were just lifeless readings of dialogue in the script. This movie is the worst in every single way imaginable. 0/10
- DirectorFrancis Ford CoppolaStarsAl PacinoDiane KeatonAndy GarciaFollows Michael Corleone, now in his 60s, as he seeks to free his family from crime and find a suitable successor to his empire. This movie was pretty good, but definitely far inferior to the previous two. The acting was pretty good, the best coming from Al Pacino. The plot was a little bit weird, but ended the story in a pretty good way. 8/10
- DirectorBrad BirdStarsTom CruiseJeremy RennerSimon PeggThe IMF is shut down when it's implicated in the bombing of the Kremlin, causing Ethan Hunt and his new team to go rogue to clear their organization's name.Pretty good spy flick. Had some fun gadgets and pretty cool chase scenes. The ending seemed to like a silly way to fix the problem just created when they tried to surprise the audience. Acting and characters were fine, but nothing to write home about. 7/10
- DirectorSam MendesStarsDaniel CraigJavier BardemNaomie HarrisJames Bond's loyalty to M is tested when her past comes back to haunt her. When MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost. This movie presents a nice, scaled down, back to basics approach, especially in the final act. The plot is not as cliche as most spy movies, and Craig does a fine job portraying Bond. 8/10
- DirectorAva DuVernayStarsDavid OyelowoCarmen EjogoOprah WinfreyA chronicle of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s campaign to secure equal voting rights via an epic march from Selma to Montgomery, Alabama, in 1965.Gripping performances and touching moments highlight this film. The drama is well crafted and has some unexpected moments. Cinematography is good and has some nice uses of dark lighting to portray the mood of the film. 8.5/10
- DirectorAnthony C. FerranteStarsIan ZieringTara ReidJohn HeardWhen a freak hurricane swamps Los Angeles, nature's deadliest killer rules sea, land, and air as thousands of sharks terrorize the waterlogged populace. This movie is absolute garbage, but its mockery of qualities in good cinema makes this a mindlessly entertaining flick, as long as you suspend all belief in reality. 1.5/10
- DirectorJames CameronStarsArnold SchwarzeneggerLinda HamiltonMichael BiehnA human soldier is sent from 2029 to 1984 to stop an almost indestructible cyborg killing machine, sent from the same year, which has been programmed to execute a young woman whose unborn son is the key to humanity's future salvation. This is a great sci-fi movie. The sinister environment and sense of danger is felt throughout the movie. The acting, writing, and cinematography are all good. Very iconic movie and the somewhat electronic score is a very nice touch to the movie. 8.5/10.
- DirectorPaul W.S. AndersonStarsKit HaringtonEmily BrowningKiefer SutherlandA slave-turned-gladiator finds himself in a race against time to save his true love, who has been betrothed to a corrupt Roman Senator. As Mount Vesuvius erupts, he must fight to save his beloved as Pompeii crumbles around him.Bad movie all around. The short run time prevents any development of the characters we're supposed to care and grieve for when the chaos begins. The FX are good, but weak script in characters prevent them from serving the movie in any significant way. 4/10
- DirectorMichael CurtizStarsHumphrey BogartIngrid BergmanPaul HenreidA cynical expatriate American cafe owner struggles to decide whether or not to help his former lover and her fugitive husband escape the Nazis in French Morocco.Great, suspenseful movie that works in pretty much every way. The characters are great, the cinematography is good, and script is very strong. This film deserves to be considered one of the greatest ever made. 9.5/10
- DirectorAlfonso CuarónStarsSandra BullockGeorge ClooneyEd HarrisDr Ryan Stone, an engineer on her first time on a space mission, and Matt Kowalski, an astronaut on his final expedition, have to survive in space after they are hit by debris while spacewalking. One of the most beautiful movies I've ever seen. The cinematography is breathtakingly gorgeous as well as the CGI and FX. Very unorthodox movie, that works well showing the beauty and terror of space. The acting is very strong only adding to aura of this film. 9/10
