The Longest Yard (1974)
While you're sure to enjoy the star-studded cast of the 2005 remake, there's much to love about the 1974 original starring Burt Reynolds as quarterback-turned-convict Paul Crewe. In prison, he is cajoled by a football-loving warden to help round up a team of inmates to take on the prison guards. Of course, there's a catch: Crewe, who has his team finally believing in themselves, learns he can win early release if he throws the game. Like the 2005 version, this movie features appearances by NFL pros, including the likes of Hall of Fame linebacker Ray Nitschke.
