Favourite Movies
These are films I enjoyed immensely, and usually they're either flawless, or damn near perfect. I know not everyone will agree with my choices, but it's okay because these are MY personal favourites. Also this list is forever expanding. This list will come with reviews, what I like about these films, and the overall rating, which I will also use a rating scale for. It goes from 0-10, rather than the usual 1-10.
0/10: This film is absolute crap. Please don't see it. Don't waste your money on utter garbage.
1/10: Sort of amusing how terrible it is. Not really all that worth buying it, though.
2/10: Lame and boring, proceed with caution.
3/10: Still lame and boring, does have some redeeming qualities. You may be able to skip to the better parts after sitting through it once.
4/10: Lame and you can skip to better parts after seeing it once. Has more better parts than the movies with a rating of three.
5/10: Not terrible, but not good. Kind of in the middle. Some might enjoy it.
6/10: Good. Still could be better. Full of flaws, but it's enjoyable.
7/10: Better. It's still full of flaws, but it's likeable and if I give a movie this rating, I enjoyed it a whole lot, but it's not one of my favourites.
8/10: Really good. But it has some flaws that are rather noticeable, hence it's not the highest it could be. If a movie is given this warning, it has the potential to be better, and it is one of my favourites.
9/10: Great. But it has some flaws.
10/10: Perfect. No flaws whatsoever.
Some of these movies will be half. The ratings on this one will only be 7.5 to 10.

- DirectorChris ColumbusStarsDaniel RadcliffeRupert GrintEmma WatsonAn orphaned boy enrolls in a school of wizardry, where he learns the truth about himself, his family and the terrible evil that haunts the magical world.I love Harry Potter. I've read books 1-4 and couldn't finish the rest of the series, but the films are amazing. My rating for most of the series: 8/10.
- DirectorChris ColumbusStarsDaniel RadcliffeRupert GrintEmma WatsonHarry Potter lives his second year at Hogwarts with Ron and Hermione when a message on the wall announces that the legendary Chamber of Secrets has been opened. The trio soon realize that, to save the school, it will take a lot of courage.Fun fact: When my nine-year-old brother was younger, like a toddler or younger, he used to be afraid of Dobby.
- DirectorAlfonso CuarónStarsDaniel RadcliffeEmma WatsonRupert GrintHarry Potter, Ron and Hermione return to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry for their third year of study, where they delve into the mystery surrounding an escaped prisoner who poses a dangerous threat to the young wizard.
- DirectorMike NewellStarsDaniel RadcliffeEmma WatsonRupert GrintHarry Potter finds himself competing in a hazardous tournament between rival schools of magic, but he is distracted by recurring nightmares.
- DirectorDavid YatesStarsDaniel RadcliffeEmma WatsonRupert GrintWith their warning about Lord Voldemort's return scoffed at, Harry and Dumbledore are targeted by the Wizard authorities as an authoritarian bureaucrat slowly seizes power at Hogwarts.
- DirectorDavid YatesStarsDaniel RadcliffeEmma WatsonRupert GrintAs Harry Potter begins his sixth year at Hogwarts, he discovers an old book marked as "the property of the Half-Blood Prince" and begins to learn more about Lord Voldemort's dark past.Went to see this in 2009 with my family and we were wearing out Hogwarts robes.
- DirectorDavid YatesStarsDaniel RadcliffeEmma WatsonRupert GrintAs Harry, Ron and Hermione race against time and evil to destroy the Horcruxes, they uncover the existence of the three most powerful objects in the wizarding world: the Deathly Hallows.
- DirectorDavid YatesStarsDaniel RadcliffeEmma WatsonRupert GrintHarry, Ron, and Hermione search for Voldemort's remaining Horcruxes in their effort to destroy the Dark Lord as the final battle rages on at Hogwarts.Saw this in theaters also. I miss the movies. I've also been meaning to read the rest of the books. My rating: 9/10.
- DirectorJoss WhedonStarsRobert Downey Jr.Chris EvansScarlett JohanssonEarth's mightiest heroes must come together and learn to fight as a team if they are going to stop the mischievous Loki and his alien army from enslaving humanity.Saw this for the first time several weeks ago, maybe a month ago, and loved it. My favourite Avengers are Thor, Black Widow, and Hawkeye. And my favourite character in general is Loki. My rating: 8/10.
- DirectorMark AndrewsBrenda ChapmanSteve PurcellStarsKelly MacdonaldBilly ConnollyEmma ThompsonDetermined to make her own path in life, Princess Merida defies a custom that brings chaos to her kingdom. Granted one wish, Merida must rely on her bravery and her archery skills to undo a beastly curse.Proof that not all new Disney movies or family movies in general are not all total crap. It's refreshing to see that Merida doesn't get a love interest and not only that, but is not interested in romance at all and just wants to be a BAMF. Also noted-Merida not only has a living mother, but she's also biological and she's not an evil bitch like in other movies. Merida and her mother have a normal, healthy mother-daughter relationship-they fight and don't always see eye-to-eye, but in the end, they love each other. Also the animation is wonderful and flawless. My rating: 10/10.
- DirectorQuentin TarantinoStarsJohn TravoltaUma ThurmanSamuel L. JacksonThe lives of two mob hitmen, a boxer, a gangster and his wife, and a pair of diner bandits intertwine in four tales of violence and redemption.Perfect movie is perfect. Tarantino is a frickin genius. My rating: 10/10.
- DirectorChristopher NolanStarsChristian BaleHeath LedgerAaron EckhartWhen the menace known as the Joker wreaks havoc and chaos on the people of Gotham, Batman must accept one of the greatest psychological and physical tests of his ability to fight injustice.Does have its boring moments, but unlike TDKR, it doesn't feel like it's four or five hours long. It's very good. Heath Ledger was a very talented actor and he was very good as the Joker. My rating: 8/10.
- DirectorDavid FincherStarsBrad PittEdward NortonMeat LoafAn insomniac office worker and a devil-may-care soap maker form an underground fight club that evolves into much more. This movie was very good, a definite mind twist. I was weirdly exhausted after watching it. My rating: 8/10.
- DirectorRobert ZemeckisStarsTom HanksRobin WrightGary SiniseThe history of the United States from the 1950s to the '70s unfolds from the perspective of an Alabama man with an IQ of 75, who yearns to be reunited with his childhood sweetheart.A classic. Does anyone not love it? My rating: 10/10.

- 19641h 35mPG8.3 (520K)97MetascoreDirectorStanley KubrickStarsPeter SellersGeorge C. ScottSterling HaydenAn unhinged American general orders a bombing attack on the Soviet Union, triggering a path to nuclear holocaust that a war room full of politicians and generals frantically tries to stop.Boring at times, but good. Funny, too. A classic, a Kubrick masterpiece. My rating: 8.5/10.
- DirectorRobert ZemeckisStarsMichael J. FoxChristopher LloydLea ThompsonMarty McFly, a 17-year-old high school student, is accidentally sent 30 years into the past in a time-traveling DeLorean invented by his close friend, the maverick scientist Doc Brown.Perfectly wonderful and amazing. A classic. My rating: 10/10.
- DirectorLee UnkrichStarsTom HanksTim AllenJoan CusackThe toys are mistakenly delivered to a day-care center instead of the attic right before Andy leaves for college, and it's up to Woody to convince the other toys that they weren't abandoned and to return home. This one lived up to the last two movies' legacy and my very high expectations. For those of you who have yet to see it and want to: prepare to cry. My rating: 10/10.
- DirectorAndrew StantonStarsBen BurttElissa KnightJeff GarlinIn the distant future, a small waste-collecting robot inadvertently embarks on a space journey that will ultimately decide the fate of mankind.Very good, wonderful, touching film. My rating: 10/10.
- DirectorStanley KubrickStarsMalcolm McDowellPatrick MageeMichael BatesIn the future, a sadistic gang leader is imprisoned and volunteers for a conduct-aversion experiment, but it doesn't go as planned. One of Kubrick's bests ever. I met my friends through this movie, so that's a small part of why I love this movie. Not to mention the good message and the visuals and the music. My rating: 10/10.
- DirectorDarren AronofskyStarsEllen BurstynJared LetoJennifer ConnellyThe drug-induced utopias of four Coney Island people are shattered when their addictions run deep..An amazing movie. Very anti-drug usage, it shows the effects of using drugs not just for Harry (Jared Leto) and Marion (Jennifer Connelly), but Harry's mom Sara (Ellen Burstyn). Something you cannot unsee. Very powerful, it can be quite disturbing at times. For example, Marion goes ass to ass on a double headed dildo for heroin. And then later Harry develops a black spot on his arm where he shoots up that becomes painful and so agonising, he later needs to have his arm amputated. My rating: 10/10.
- DirectorRoger AllersRob MinkoffStarsMatthew BroderickJeremy IronsJames Earl JonesLion prince Simba and his father are targeted by his bitter uncle, who wants to ascend the throne himself.Classic movie. I loved Jeremy Irons as Scar. The songs are amazing, especially "Be Prepared." My rating: 10/10.
- DirectorStanley KubrickStarsMatthew ModineR. Lee ErmeyVincent D'OnofrioA pragmatic U.S. Marine observes the dehumanizing effects the Vietnam War has on his fellow recruits from their brutal boot camp training to the bloody street fighting in Hue.I love this movie. I'm not big into war movies, but this one was amazing. I loved the first have with Drill Sergeant Hartman being a hardass (bit of an understatement) and the beginning of the secong half, when Pvt. Joker and his buddy are in Vietnam and they talk to a Vietnamese prostitute. (Me so horny, me love you long time) My rating: 8.5/10.
- DirectorTerry GilliamTerry JonesStarsGraham ChapmanJohn CleeseEric IdleKing Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table embark on a surreal, low-budget search for the Holy Grail, encountering many, very silly obstacles.I cannot fathom why anyone would not love Monty Python, especially this gem they made. This movie is literally perfect. It is the exact definition of the word flawlessness. Hard to believe that something that was so low budget could turn out to be such perfection.
