Finally finished season 3. Only since moving out of home have I been able to appreciate its majesty, and despite the flaws, AND THEY ARE NUMEROUS, such as the ludicrous plot contrivance of throwing two unrelated characters together to talk and join forces, and the cheesy gratuitous sex, and the way they are becoming less and less uncompromising and true to the book, in order to be Blockbuster. Arya is perfect; Sansa is exactly as annoying as in the book; Tyrion is even better somehow; Cersei is less beautiful but more charismatic; Ser Jamie is a demigod; Roose Bolton is breathed into, as is the Bolton Bastard; Theon's sister is my spirit guide; The Hound is to die for; Robb is satisfyingly colorless; Catelyn Stark is magnificent and heart-rending; Jon is puffier than he should be but engagingly intense; Ygritte is a triumph, a fascinating creetur unlike her infuriating literary counterpart; Lord Tywin is sex, just like in the book; Stannis, Shae, Jorah, so many are just so much better on the screen.
The Red Wedding had me convulsing. I actually moaned with the horror of it. One of the most horrific and tragic things I've ever seen.
