- DirectorAlfonso CuarónStarsSandra BullockGeorge ClooneyEd HarrisDr Ryan Stone, an engineer on her first time on a space mission, and Matt Kowalski, an astronaut on his final expedition, have to survive in space after they are hit by debris while spacewalking.Gravity Is The Most Powerful Film Of The Year and it might be one of the best of the decade. Gravity's claustrophobic performence from Sandra Bullock is scary but yet so riveting with all her emotions. Its a very harsh film on people who can't take powerful story and performences, but this movie will always be remembered as Cuaron's technical achievment and a masterpiece that will never be forgotton.
- DirectorNeill BlomkampStarsMatt DamonJodie FosterSharlto CopleyIn the year 2154, the very wealthy live on a man-made space station while the rest of the population resides on a ruined Earth. A man takes on a mission that could bring equality to the polarized worlds.Elysium is one of the best Sci Fi Epics of all time in my opinion and will be studied in film schools in the next few years. It deals with social class issues and is a frightening tale of life and death. Copley's performence is one of the best of the year. Its a outstanding visual film.
- DirectorChris BuckJennifer LeeStarsKristen BellIdina MenzelJonathan GroffFearless optimist Anna teams up with rugged mountain man Kristoff and his loyal reindeer Sven in an epic journey to find Anna's sister Elsa, whose icy powers have trapped the kingdom of Arendelle in eternal winter.Frozen is a very nostalgic film reminiscent of Disney's best animated films. It will sure to become a classic for its amazing songs, great plotting, loveable characters, excellent animation and dazziling visuals.
- DirectorSaschka UnseldStarsSarah JaffeAmidst the rain in a singing city, two umbrellas - one blue, one not - fall eternally in love. This movie made me think more about how I look at animation in general. They put faces on everything which is very fascinating. The Love Story is put into this short film about a Umbrella who wants to be with another umbrella. The film reminds me of the love story to Up which lasted for a few minutes. Its Pixar's best short film to date.
- DirectorKim Jee-woonStarsArnold SchwarzeneggerForest WhitakerJohnny KnoxvilleThe leader of a drug cartel busts out of a courthouse and speeds to the Mexican border, where the only thing in his path is a sheriff and his inexperienced staff.I think this movie is going to be recognized soon as a Action Classic. Arnold is back and better then ever. He still has it as he kicks some more bad guy ass with Johnny Knoxville. Its just huge fun and is a must see because of its strong action sequences and awesome performences.
- DirectorTodd PhillipsStarsBradley CooperZach GalifianakisEd HelmsWhen one of their own is kidnapped by an angry gangster, the Wolf Pack must track down Mr. Chow, who has escaped from prison and is on the run.How can I not forget this one? Hangover Part III is the amazing dark conclusion to a great trilogy of films. Its hilarious. Its sadistic. Its a fantastic film and everyone in the theatre was laughing. This is such a funny film and I loved it.
- DirectorJon TurteltaubStarsRobert De NiroMichael DouglasMorgan FreemanBilly, Paddy, Archie and Sam have been best friends since childhood. When Billy proposes to his much-younger girlfriend, they go to Vegas to relive their glory days. However, the decades have changed Sin City and tested their friendship.Last Vegas's great message is all about friendship and forgiveness. The film may not be that funny, but it shows that the characters have so much chemistry together thanks to the performences of our four main actors. I think this will become a comedy classic soon.
De Niro should be nominated for an oscar. I know its not going to happen but it should. - DirectorPeter JacksonStarsIan McKellenMartin FreemanRichard ArmitageThe dwarves, along with Bilbo Baggins and Gandalf the Grey, continue their quest to reclaim the Lonely Mountain, their homeland, from the dragon Smaug.I shouldn't leave this film out of the list. After All, its a fantastic mid chapter in a great series of films. The effects are magical, Benedict Cumberbatch is excellent as Smaug. The pacing is consistant. This is such a great film.
- DirectorLee DanielsStarsForest WhitakerOprah WinfreyJohn CusackAs Cecil Gaines serves eight presidents during his tenure as a butler at the White House, the civil rights movement, Vietnam, and other major events affect this man's life, family, and American society. This film is a very inspiring story about The White House's Butler Cecil Gaines. A Huge History lesson fitted into 2 1/2 Hours. It is sure to be nominated for Best Picture. I cried at the end it was that good.
- DirectorJ.J. AbramsStarsChris PineZachary QuintoZoe SaldanaAfter the crew of the Enterprise find an unstoppable force of terror from within their own organization, Captain Kirk leads a manhunt to a war-zone world to capture a one-man weapon of mass destruction.Another Great Action Film with some excellent performences from Quinto and Cumberbatch. It is a exciting roller coaster ride from beginning to end.
