Top 5 worst films of 2012
This is a list of the top 5 worst films I saw in 2012. I'm pretty knowledgeable about film and I know my taste, so I don't typically see a lot of bad films. That being said, there were a few bad ones this year. Sometimes it's a film I'm watching with other people, other times a movie happens to be on TV and there's nothing else on and some films are just guilty pleasures.

AndersonStarsMilla JovovichSienna GuilloryMichelle RodriguezAlice fights alongside a resistance movement to regain her freedom from an Umbrella Corporation testing facility.I love the Resident Evil video games and I can't stop myself from watching the Resident Evil movies, which is weird because the films are nothing like the video games.
It's too bad too because the games are great and have a great mood and feel to them.
The newest installment to this franchise that just won't die is an absolute turd fest. The biggest problem with the Resident Evil films now is that there's no suspense. Alice is an unstoppable killing machine. She also happens to be a clone, so if she dies, can't we just get another one?
She's never in peril, so who cares. The acting is wooden, the action is boring, the editing is a mess, the story is muddled and almost nonexistent. I could go on, but this doesn't deserve to take up anymore internet space. It's my own fault because I keep getting sucked into this franchise. - DirectorLen WisemanStarsColin FarrellBokeem WoodbineBryan CranstonA factory worker, Douglas Quaid, begins to suspect that he is a spy after visiting Rekall - a company that provides its clients with implanted fake memories of a life they would like to have led - goes wrong and he finds himself on the run.Wow! I knew it was a bad idea to remake one of the most classic sci-fi films of all time, but I didn't think it was that bad of an idea.
Total Recall is a shell of its former self. The story bares little to no resemblance to the original. They would have been better off just calling it something else or just making a sequel.
Even a Kate Beckinsale/Jessica Beil fight scene couldn't save this movie.
Fortunately, most people stayed away. I'm kind of surprised though, films like this usually do big business with audiences today. - DirectorDavid MackenzieStarsEwan McGregorEva GreenLauren TempanyA chef and a scientist fall in love as an epidemic begins to rob people of their sensory perceptions.Oh my god, what a pretentious pile of puss. The story sounded really interesting, but Perfect Sense just doesn't pull it off.
It's just a half-baked romance film that ends up turning out to be unintentionally funny at times.
Perfect Sense is just so boring and really highlights the most annoying trend in Indy films today, and that is the the ability to move the story forward as little as possible. We get it, you're an Indy film. NOW DO SOMETHING! - DirectorJulie Anne RobinsonStarsKatherine HeiglJason O'MaraDaniel SunjataUnemployed and newly-divorced Stephanie Plum lands a job at her cousin's bail-bond business, where her first assignment puts her on the trail of a wanted local cop from her romantic past.Where to start? My mom and my sister love the books One for the Money is based on, I haven't read them but I'm pretty sure they failed to do them justice.
I think Katherine Heigl is trying to make the most amount of awful films before she retires. Maybe it's some kind of bet.
Anyway, money is just wall-to-wall cliches. With silly characters that seem like they are from another planet.
Also, Heigl has one of the most annoying accents in film this year. Just a mess. - DirectorDan BradleyStarsChris HemsworthIsabel LucasJosh HutchersonA group of teenagers look to save their town from an invasion of North Korean soldiers.I grew up loving the original Red Dawn. I probably was watching it way before I should have been and it's one of my earliest memories of a film from my childhood.
Needless to say, I was really looking forward to Red Dawn. Like with Total Recall, there really isn't a whole lot in common with the original besides character names and basic story.
The biggest problem with this Red Dawn is that it's just not timely enough. By taking the film out of the 80's setting you are changing what made the original so great. America was highly paranoid about Cuba and Russia invading and the original really captured that.
Also, making the main character an ex-marine cheapens the impact of having civilians fight off the enemy.
Josh Peck is really annoying as the younger brother and the romance story added in comes off as unnecessary and juvenile.
The other problem is the ending. The changes they made take away the impact of the original. The original was always about the relationship between two brothers and the end is really touching. That's gone from the remake. I could go on forever about this one.
