1. Eric Bana

Actor | Dirty John

Eric Bana was born Eric Banadinovic on August 9, 1968, in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. He is the younger of two brothers. His father, named Ivan Banadinovic, came from Zagreb, Croatia, and worked as a manager for Caterpillar Inc. His mother, named Eleanor Banadinovic, came from a German family ...

Bruce Wayne/The Batman: A billionaire industrialist playboy, Bruce Wayne witnessed his parents being brutally murdered in front of him as a child. Since that fateful night, he has been driven to bring justice to Gotham City, so he creates the secret identity of Batman to instill hope in the people.

Movies such as Munich (2005) are prime examples of how good an actor Eric Bana is. He had a chance to play a superhero in Ang Lee's Hulk from 2003, and even though his performance was good, it was wasted on such a crappy movie.

Bana's certainly got that play boyish look and that may just be because he resembles Christian Bale a whole lot, but he's also good at going darker and would be make a great Batman, in my eyes atleast.

2. Logan Lerman

Actor | The Perks of Being a Wallflower

One of today's leading talents across both independent and mainstream film, Logan Lerman is an immensely talented actor who takes on challenging roles and brings dynamic characters to life on screen.

Logan was born in Beverly Hills, to a Jewish family. His parents are Lisa (Goldman), who worked as ...

Dick Grayson/Robin/Nightwing?: Dick Grayson was the youngest member of a family of acrobats known as the Flying Graysons. Dick's idyllic life was shattered when mobster Tony Zucco sabotaged their act and his family fell to their deaths. Dick was taken in by Bruce, who adopted him and decided to train him as his crime-fighting partner Robin.

Yet another fan favourite, I have to say I'm not too familiar with Lerman's work but from what I've seen he's definitely talented, and he also just kind of naturally fits into the role.

3. Emma Stone

Actress | La La Land

Emily Jean "Emma" Stone was born on November 6, 1988 in Scottsdale, Arizona to Krista Jean Stone (née Yeager), a homemaker & Jeffrey Charles "Jeff" Stone, a contracting company founder and CEO. She is of Swedish, German & British Isles descent. Stone began acting as a child as a member of the ...

Barbara Gordon/Batgirl/Oracle?: Barbara Gordon is the only daughter of police commissioner James Gordon, Batman's only ally in Gotham. After Batman saves her life, Barbara becomes obsessed with him, eventually deducing his secret identity and creating the identity of Batgirl for herself.

Emma Stone is no stranger to comic book (or atleast comic book-esque) films, she is very beautiful, has red hair and is a great actress. She'd make a perfect Batgirl, able to pull off the shy and quiet Barbara Gordon (that I'd imagine for this film) as well as the sassy and all round kick ass Batgirl.

4. Geoffrey Rush

Actor | The King's Speech

Geoffrey Roy Rush was born on July 6, 1951, in Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia, to Merle (Bischof), a department store sales assistant, and Roy Baden Rush, an accountant for the Royal Australian Air Force. His mother was of German descent and his father had English, Irish, and Scottish ancestry. ...

Alfred Pennyworth: Alfred Pennyworth is the English butler of Bruce Wayne, and before that he served Bruce's parents. After their murder, Alfred raised Bruce like he was his own son, until one day Bruce left to travel the world. When he returned to Gotham several years later, he informed Alfred of his plan to become the Batman, and Alfred continued to serve as his loyal and faithful assistant.

Rush is just a great actor all round and has already worked with Bana on Munich. He also lent his voice to the awful 2009 Ryan Reynolds Green Lantern movie, and like Bana, he once again felt wasted but it certainly showed that he's great at the kind of mentor aspect of Alfred. He just sort of fits the role well. So does John Hurt, a popular fan choice, but I wanted my list to be a little more original.

5. Bryan Cranston

Actor | Breaking Bad

Bryan Lee Cranston was born on March 7, 1956 in Hollywood, California, to Audrey Peggy Sell, a radio actress, and Joe Cranston, an actor and former amateur boxer. His maternal grandparents were German, and his father was of Irish, German, and Austrian-Jewish ancestry. He was raised in the Canoga ...

Commissioner James Gordon: James Gordon was, for a time, the only honest cop in Gotham City. He refused to let injustice prevail and he fought on, rising through the ranks from a lowly sergeant to becoming the commissioner. Although he at first questions Batman's vigilante antics, he soon comes to see that they are both fighting for the same side, and become the closest of allies, being one of the few people Batman could call a friend.

So much for the originality! Cranston is a fan favourite to play Gordon, having also voiced him in the Batman: Year One animated movie. Cranston not only has the voice, but the right look as well. He's a terrific actor and would make for an equally terrific Gordon.

6. Clive Owen

Actor | Children of Men

British actor Clive Owen is one of a handful of stars who, though he is best known for his art house films, can handle more mainstream films with equal measures of grace and skill. Owen is typically cast as characters whose primary traits are a balance of physical strength, intellect, conflicting ...

Detective Harvey Bullock

7. Mila Kunis

Actress | Black Swan

Milena Markovna "Mila" Kunis is a Ukrainian-American actress born to a Jewish family in Chernivtsi, Ukraine.

Her mother, Elvira, is a physics teacher, her father, Mark Kunis, is a mechanical engineer, and she has an older brother named Michael. Her family moved to Los Angeles, California, in 1991. ...

Renee Montoya

8. Maggie Q

Actress | Divergent

Margaret Denise Quigley was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, to a father of Polish and Irish descent (originally based in New York) and a Vietnamese mother. Her parents met during the Vietnam War. Maggie has two older half-siblings from her mother's previous marriage, and two older sisters. The family ...

Ellen Yin

9. Yasiin Bey

Soundtrack | The Italian Job

Regarded as one of hip-hop's most introspective and insightful artists, Mos Def has shaped a career that transcends music genres and artistic medium. Taking a cue from the Afrocentric stylings of the Native Tongues crew, which included De La Soul, Jungle Brothers, A Tribe Called Quest and Andres ...

Crispus Allen

10. Christina Hendricks

Actress | Ginger & Rosa

Christina Rene Hendricks was born in Knoxville, Tennessee, and grew up in Twin Falls, Idaho. Her father, Robert, originally from England, worked for the U.S. Forest Service, while her mother, Jackie Sue (Raymond), was a psychologist. At the age of 13 her father transferred to the Forest Service ...

Vicki Vale

Not only is she absolutely gorgeous, but she can act too. She'd be perfect for Vicki Vale, Batman's love interest who would probably die tragically as a way to bring Batman to his darkest point, as well as make way for Catwoman later on. Hendricks is a fantastic actress and a stunning woman, so there's no doubt that she could absolutely pull this off.

11. Billy Dee Williams

Actor | Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back

Billy Dee Williams was born William December Williams on April 6, 1937 in New York City. Billy Dee has notched up an impressive array of film and television appearances over the past 50+ years. He is easily best known to international film audiences as the roguish Lando Calrissian in the last two ...

Lucius Fox

Williams appeared in the small role of Harvey Dent in Tim Burton's 1989 film, but when Two-Face appeared as a villain in 1995, he was played by Tommy Lee Jones.

Williams is a terrificly charismatic actor and would do wonders as Fox, giving a great follow-up to Morgan Freeman.

12. Crispin Glover

Actor | What Is It?

While he's never been a typical leading man, Crispin Glover has distinguished himself as one of the most intriguing personalities in the movie business. His unusual characters and personal projects have inspired a cult-like following that has dubbed him both madman and genius.

The son of actress and...

The Joker

Again, I went with a popular choice because it's hard to find anybody who fits the role better. I know that technically Heath Ledger didn't fit the role at all and totally knocked it out of the park, but I'm not good at that sort of casting. I'd probably choose someone horrible to play the Joker, like Channing Tatum. OK, maybe not that bad, but you get the idea.

Glover's a great actor and, as I said, fits the Joker bill extremely well.

13. Amanda Seyfried

Actress | Les Misérables

Amanda Seyfried was born and raised in Allentown, Pennsylvania, to Ann (Sander), an occupational therapist, and Jack Seyfried, a pharmacist. She is of German, and some English and Scottish, ancestry. She began modeling when she was eleven, and acted in high school productions as well as taking ...

Dr. Harleen Quinzel/Harley Quinn

Amanda is another beautiful yet totally insane up and coming star, which fits the Harley Quinn role nicely. I can easily picture her as both the reserved Harleen Quinzel and the feisty, unpredictable Harley Quinn.

14. Olivia Wilde

Actress | Tron: Legacy

Actress and activist Olivia Wilde is a modern day renaissance woman, starring in many acclaimed film productions, while simultaneously giving back to the community.

She was born on March 10, 1984 in New York City. Her parents are Leslie Cockburn (née Leslie Corkill Redlich) and Andrew Cockburn. Her ...

Selina Kyle/Catwoman

Another talent beauty, Wilde would be great as the saucy but sinister Catwoman. Plus, she'd look great in a skin-tight black leather catsuit, regardless of whether on to she turned in a decent performance (although I doubt that she would not).

15. Michael C. Hall

Actor | Dexter

Michael C. Hall was born in Raleigh, North Carolina, to Janice (Styons), a guidance counselor, and William Carlyle Hall, who worked for IBM. Michael is a graduate of NYU's Master of Fine Arts program in acting. He is known for the titular character "Dexter" in Dexter (2006) and as mortician "David ...

Edward Nygma/The Riddler

Michael C. Hall is a wonderful actor and is great as Dexter on, well, Dexter. Although the Riddler, when stripped to basics, doesn't seem too Dexter, I have no problem seeing Hall in this role, nor do I have a problem seeing him nailing it.

16. Philip Seymour Hoffman

Actor | The Master

Film and stage actor and theater director Philip Seymour Hoffman was born in the Rochester, New York, suburb of Fairport to Marilyn (Loucks), a lawyer and judge, and Gordon Stowell Hoffman, a Xerox employee, and was mostly of German, Irish, English and Dutch ancestry. After becoming involved in ...

Oswald Cobblepot/The Penguin

Yet more fan service, Hoffman is great at playing creepy villains (a personal favourite of mine being MI:III) as well as looking perfect for the part. Not much more to say here. Phillip Seymour Hoffman as the Penguin. It speaks for itself.

17. Lou Ferrigno

Actor | The Incredible Hulk

An internationally famous and well respected bodybuilder / actor, Lou Ferrigno first appeared on TV screens in 1977 as the musclebound title character of The Incredible Hulk (1978), the alter ego of meek scientist David Banner. Ferrigno was born in Brooklyn, New York, in 1951 and as a child ...

Bane

Ferrigno is best known for playing the Hulk (a part also played by Eric Bana) so Bane would be no problem to him. Maybe I'd have his voice dubbed over, but I'd say he could pull it off. I also can't think of anyone to do the voice right now.

18. Scarlett Johansson

Actress | Lost in Translation

Scarlett Ingrid Johansson was born on November 22, 1984 in Manhattan, New York City, New York. Her mother, Melanie Sloan is from a Jewish family from the Bronx and her father, Karsten Johansson is a Danish-born architect from Copenhagen. She has a sister, Vanessa Johansson, who is also an actress, ...

Pamela Isley/Poison Ivy

Beautiful, seductive, deadly. These attributes best describe Poison Ivy, and Johansson ticks every one of these boxes and then some.

19. Patrick Stewart

Actor | Logan

Sir Patrick Stewart was born in Mirfield, Yorkshire, England, to Gladys (Barrowclough), a textile worker and weaver, and Alfred Stewart, who was in the army. He was a member of various local drama groups from about age 12. He left school at age 15 to work as a junior reporter on a local paper; he ...

Mr. Freeze

Like many others on this list, Patrick Stewart is no stranger to comic book movies. Stewart has a fantastic voice, mixed up with some freaky Darth Vader robotics would really make for a menacing and memorable performance. Not to mention he actually looks a bit like the Freeze I'm imagining.

20. Michael Fassbender

Actor | Shame

Michael Fassbender is an Irish actor who was born in Heidelberg, Germany, to a German father, Josef, and an Irish mother, Adele (originally from Larne, County Antrim, in Northern Ireland). Michael was raised in the town of Killarney, Co. Kerry, in south-west Ireland, where his family moved to when ...

Harvey "Two-Face" Dent: Harvey Dent was the District Attorney who was going to change Gotham for the better. Or at least that was the plan until he crossed ruthless mob boss Sal Maroni. Hoping to prove a point, Maroni threw acid at Harvey's face, leaving him permanently scarred, both physically and mentally. After seeing the damage that had been done, Harvey lost the battle with his inner demons and fully embraced the rageing, vengeful personality of Two-Face.

Fassbender has bee hailed by many as an amazing actor and I'm not ready to disagree. He'd be great as playing Batman's friend and ally, Harvey Dent, before some horrible accident horribly burns half of his face and turns into an intense, raving psychotic.

21. Arnold Vosloo

Actor | The Mummy

Arnold Vosloo was born in Pretoria, South Africa, to stage actor parents, Johanna Petronella Vorster and Johannes J. Daniel Vosloo. He is an Afrikaaner (of mostly Dutch, as well as German, Swiss-German, Danish, and French, descent).

Vosloo quickly established a fine reputation as an actor in his ...

Ra's al Ghul: The Middle Eastern leader of the League of Shadows, a secretive gang of ninja assassins, Ra's al Ghul's name translates to "The Demon's Head." Although his plots often involve the murder of countless innocents, he always believes that he is in it for the greater good.

For Ra's I always imagine someone who is able to orchestrate mass genocide all while claiming it's honourable and for the greater good. For that I would pick Vosloo.

22. Olga Kurylenko

Actress | Oblivion

Olga Kurylenko is a Ukrainian-French actress and model, went from sharing a cramped flat with her aunt, uncle, grandparents and cousin to starring as a Bond girl opposite Daniel Craig.

She was born Olga Konstantinovna Kurylenko on November 14, 1979, in Berdyansk, Ukraine, Soviet Union. Her mother, ...

Talia al Ghul: Ra's beautiful and seductive daughter Talia al Ghul falls helplessly in love with Batman, trapping her in the crossfire between he and her father.

First of all browny points for being a Bond girl, but beyond that she really is great at playing badass femme fatales and has the right look for Talia.

23. Guy Pearce

Actor | Memento

Guy Edward Pearce was born October 5, 1967 in Cambridgeshire, England, UK to Margaret Anne and Stuart Graham Pearce. His father was born in Auckland, New Zealand, to English and Scottish parents, while Guy's mother is English. Pearce and his family initially traveled to Australia for two years, ...

Fox, was a consultant for an oil company, who raised longhorn cattle and horses and grew barley for Coors beer. He has Italian (from his maternal grandfather), ...

Victor Zsasz

I've seen Fox cast in a few Batman roles, but never Zsasz. I thought of this based on his performance in Alex Cross as a psychotic killer.

28. Jim Caviezel

James Patrick Caviezel was born on September 26, 1968 in Mount Vernon, Washington. He was one of five children born to Margaret (Lavery), a former stage actress, and James Caviezel, a chiropractor. The Caviezels are a closely knit Catholic family. He is of Irish (mother) and Swiss-Romansh and ...

Joe Chill

This guy is just bad news. You know when you see the Waynes step into that alley and Dourif comes around the corner that they are *beep*

31. Michael Keaton

Actor | Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance)

Quirky, inventive and handsome American actor Michael Keaton first achieved major fame with his door-busting performance as fast-talking ideas man Bill Blazejowski, alongside a nerdish morgue attendant (Henry Winkler), in Night Shift (1982). He played further comedic roles in Mr. Mom (1983), Johnny...

Mayor Hamilton Hill

Like Billy Dee Williams, I think it would be a great homage to the original Tim Burton films to have Keaton back, and I think he'd be great as Hill.

32. Imogen Poots

Actress | Vivarium

British actress Imogen Poots was born in Hammersmith, London, England, the daughter of English-born Fiona (Goodall), a journalist, and Trevor Poots, a Northern Ireland-born television producer.
