Kelly. This was not much of a surprise since it was not marketed very well and was in a very weak time of year for most of cable TV. Seems like between the underwhelming ratings from Monday Mornings, the consistent low ratings from Southland, and the drastically low ratings Dallas received for season 2, TNT may want to consider staying out of the winter/spring months. The finale aired April 8th, totaling just 10 episodes.

The series debuted on NBC the week after ER’s series finale (in the same time slot) and had a 7-episode run. Weeks before the second season was set to premiere in fall 2009, NBC abruptly cancelled the series along with plans for all original programming in the 10pm slots during the week (the miserable Jay Leno experiment). TNT picked it up and began airing the series in early 2010. It did well in the ratings, but TNT always waited to announce renewal until after the current season finished. Going into the fifth season, many became suspicious about the shows fate due to three of the leads taking pilot offers for new shows. Unfortunately, only one of the four main characters was left with a satisfying end while another was left very open-ended. The unofficial series finale aired on April 17th, totaling 43 episodes.

The series helped pave the way for the network when they rebranded themselves back in 2009, by catering to more than just science fiction. It was huge ratings, but they have dropped quite a bit over the years. Thankfully, Syfy is allowing the series to end with closure in a 6-episode season expected to debut in 2014. The fourth season is still currently airing.

The series had seen shaky ratings for a while, but there were plans for a short final season or 2-hour wrap up movie. Unfortunately, both of those plans have been scrapped due to budget costs being too high to warrant. The third season is currently coming to a close (June 16th) and fans will likely have no closure. While Burnham does have a built-in fanbase, it was not much of a surprise the series was cancelled. MTV has had one of the single worst track-records for scripted programming on cable, especially in the comedy department. Approximately 10 scripted shows have been cancelled within three years which includes; The Inbetweeners, Underemployed and I Just Want My Pants Back. For some reason, MTV didn’t feel it was necessary to pair this show up with the successful “Awkward” which was airing the same time on another night. The last two episodes are airing back-to-back Saturday, June 29th.

Ratings had been on-the-fence and it took a 10-month hiatus between seasons. When it returned this past January, ratings were lower and the finale saw an all-time series low. The network had decided to put-off the renewals/additional episode orders of “The Lying Game” and “Bunheads” until seeing how the new shows for summer 2013 preformed. Many pretty much knew the series was not coming back due to delays with the renewal of “Glee” delaying a third season of TGP to happen within enough time. The ratings are low, but for Starz, they were more or less average. It was doing better than previously cancelled “Boss”, but slightly less than the already renewed “Da Vinci’s Demons.” The president of the network did say the upcoming finale will “deliver a satisfying conclusion to the series.” However, that is what a few other network presidents have recently said about abruptly cancelled shows (Enlightened, The Borgias), so take that with caution. The unofficial series finale airs Friday, Aug. 9th.

Unfortunately, fans were left with a pretty dire cliffhanger that looks like it will never be resolved.

The series started off with fairly weak ratings, but became a huge hit once the second season began. It has been noted to being the only series to see “Sopranos-type” ratings for a series on HBO. However, while remaining one of the only series with monster ratings (along with Game of Thrones), the numbers have very slowly been declining. Between the ratings, contract negotiations that everyone likely wanted to avoid (the main cast initially signed on for 7 seasons), and [recent] rabid backlash from the viewers; it’s likely the smartest decision to let the show end while it’s still on-top. The 10-episode seventh and final season is expected to air in summer 2014. By the time the show ends, it will have amassed a total of 80 episodes.

It was the first original scripted program for the network, with their other scripted shows all imported from the UK. The series debuted to big ratings and was renewed for a second season. However, ratings began to gradually slip in the first season. For some strange reason, I could not find the ratings for any of season two’s episodes. I can only guess they dropped ever further based on articles claiming it has/had low viewership. The BBC America General Manager stated “After 23 episodes, with Lincoln dead and the nation starting to heal, it seems a fitting moment to conclude this American story.” This actually marks the fourth cable series that was cut short and one of the ‘big wigs’ said it had a proper conclusion, but others have felt differently. The series finale airs Sunday, September 22nd.

Baldwin discussed current events and past experiences with various guests from news programs, politics, and the arts. The show used a multi-camera set-up. The set was fashioned after a New York City diner, and Baldwin conversed with his guests over coffee while sitting in a corner booth. The show began its run while the host was in the midst of a two-year contract with MSNBC's production arm, Universal Television. In an interview with The Daily Beast, Baldwin stated, "I'm going to do it for a year, and then we'll see what happens."On 11/26/13, MSNBC announced the late-night talk show was axed. The cancellation came shortly after Alec Baldwin’s most recent controversial outburst which consisted of several anti-gay slurs. However, the show had horrible ratings and was critically disliked so it may not be too far-fetched in thinking the anti-gay rant was a much-needed excuse for the network to cancel it. Only 5 episodes aired.
