And it does get bonus points for being first. But really, it wasn't a whole lot different to me than "Sleepless in Seattle" or "French Kiss".
- DirectorEthan CoenJoel CoenStarsTommy Lee JonesJavier BardemJosh BrolinViolence and mayhem ensue after a hunter stumbles upon the aftermath of a drug deal gone wrong and over two million dollars in cash near the Rio Grande.A fine film. - DirectorVincente MinnelliStarsGene KellyLeslie CaronOscar LevantThree friends struggle to find work in Paris. Things become more complicated when two of them fall in love with the same woman. This movie was boring. And THEN they had a 20 minute wordless dance sequence unconnected from the plot.
- DirectorPaul HaggisStarsDon CheadleSandra BullockThandiwe NewtonLos Angeles citizens with vastly separate lives collide in interweaving stories of race, loss and redemption. Is it just me or was this like 6 or 7 Lifetime Channel Movies of the Week just spliced together?
- DirectorRidley ScottStarsRussell CroweJoaquin PhoenixConnie NielsenA former Roman General sets out to exact vengeance against the corrupt emperor who murdered his family and sent him into slavery.I cannot say enough about how much I hated this film. I thought the special effects were terrible. I thought the lightning scene cuts were annoying. I found myself rooting against Maximus at the end. They created a bad guy without ever explaining why he was so bad -- and then had him commit incestuous rape just so you knew he was evil. I didn't even think this was an average film. I would have expected it to get bad reviews. The fact that it won oscars and won Best Picture floors me. I thought this film was atrocious.
