1. Doctor Who (2005–2022)

TV-PG | 45 min | Adventure, Drama, Sci-Fi

The further adventures in time and space of the alien adventurer known as the Doctor and his companions from planet Earth.

Stars: Jodie Whittaker, Peter Capaldi, Pearl Mackie, Matt Smith

Votes: 246,260

The first four seasons (plus specials) under Russell T. Davies might just be the greatest tv show ever. Afterwards, the show lost quite a bit (including David Tennant), but also gained new appeals (namely the Ponds). These days it's more hit and miss, but when it wants to, and with Murray Gold doing his magic, "Doctor Who" can fly the TARDIS to places the vast majority of shows may never reach. And as questionable as Steven Moffat may be as showrunner, his episodes under Davies' helm rival those of Joss Whedon in the latter's own shows.

2. Angel (1999–2004)

TV-14 | 44 min | Action, Drama, Fantasy

The vampire Angel, cursed with a soul, moves to Los Angeles and aids people with supernatural-related problems while questing for his own redemption.

Stars: David Boreanaz, Charisma Carpenter, Alexis Denisof, J. August Richards

Votes: 75,690

There might have been about three not-that-great episodes during its five year run, but for most of the time, "Angel" was as phantastic as tv can ever be, delivering alltimers like "A Hole in the World" and outstanding characters like...pretty much the entire main cast.

3. Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997–2003)

TV-14 | 44 min | Action, Drama, Fantasy

A young woman, destined to slay vampires, demons and other infernal creatures, deals with her life fighting evil, with the help of her friends.

Stars: Sarah Michelle Gellar, Nicholas Brendon, Alyson Hannigan, Anthony Head

Votes: 159,538

Other shows may have done the mythology thing tighter, but as far as episodic quality goes, they all bow down before this one. "Restless". "The Body". "Once More, With Feeling". And not to mention..."Passion". It simply doesn't get any better.

4. Firefly (2002–2003)

TV-14 | 45 min | Adventure, Drama, Sci-Fi

Five hundred years in the future, a renegade crew aboard a small spacecraft tries to survive as they travel the unknown parts of the galaxy and evade warring factions as well as authority agents out to get them.

Stars: Nathan Fillion, Gina Torres, Alan Tudyk, Morena Baccarin

Votes: 281,457

Its cancellation was nothing less than a capital offence. Great characters, great relationships (River+Simon!), great stories, great...loss. "Objects in Space" deserves all the praise in the world.

5. The A-Team (1983–1987)

Stars: Dominic Purcell, Wentworth Miller, Amaury Nolasco, Robert Knepper

Votes: 578,664

Pretty much a waste of my time.

Sydney Bristow is an international spy recruited out of college, trained for espionage and self-defense.

Stars: Jennifer Garner, Ron Rifkin, Carl Lumbly, Kevin Weisman

Votes: 54,703

Incredible show for the first four seasons. Should have ended there (and easily could've), but didn't. If your final season is so bad, that not even Amy Acker can save it, you *really* screwed things up. Still, considering that no one talks about it anymore, "Alias" seems a bit underrated to me.

Votes: 54,175

An F.B.I. agent is forced to work with an institutionalized scientist and his son in order to rationalize a brewing storm of unexplained phenomena.

Stars: Anna Torv, Joshua Jackson, John Noble, Jasika Nicole

Votes: 257,294

Like many shows associated with J.J. Abrams, "Fringe" couldn't deliver in the end. Until then, though, there were some fun times to be had.

15. Dollhouse (2009–2010)

Stars: John Hurt, Colin Morgan, Bradley James, Richard Wilson

Votes: 87,171

It was fun, with two great main characters, whom I will miss. but the potential was never quite fully tapped.

17. Smallville (2001–2017)

A young Clark Kent struggles to find his place in the world as he learns to harness his alien powers for good and deals with the typical troubles of teenage life in Smallville, Kansas.

Stars: Tom Welling, Michael Rosenbaum, Allison Mack, Kristin Kreuk

Votes: 137,913

"Smallville" peaked early, during Season 3, and never quite reached the heights that Genre has to offer. There've been worse shows, but there have also been countless better ones.

Stars: Stephen Collins, Catherine Hicks, Jessica Biel, Beverley Mitchell

Votes: 26,978

The first five and a half seasons were enjoyable during my youth. However, what followed should go down as perhaps the worst thing in television history.

20. Charmed (1998–2006)

TV-14 | 42 min | Drama, Fantasy, Mystery

Three Halliwell sisters discover that they are descendants of a line of good female witches and are destined to fight against the forces of evil, using their combined power of witchcraft known as the "Power of Three".

Stars: Holly Marie Combs, Alyssa Milano, Brian Krause, Rose McGowan

Votes: 91,456

A blatant "Buffy"/"Angel"-Ripoff during its later years, "Charmed" startet as decent Fantasy. With the cast change after Season 3 it got too light for my taste and lost much of its appeal. Season 6 was worth the while, though.
