Replacing: Britney Spears

When looking for someone to replace Britney in judging the show, a pop icon is what we need. Why not get someone who is familiar with the industry very well and has remained to be successful in pop music since the 1980s? This is a no-brainer.

1. Lady Gaga

Soundtrack | A Star Is Born

Lady Gaga, born Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, is an American songwriter, singer, actress, philanthropist, dancer and fashion designer.

Gaga was born on March 28, 1986 in Manhattan, New York City, to Cynthia Louise (Bissett), a philanthropist and business executive, and Joseph Anthony ...

Replacing: Britney Spears

GaGa is obviously the top choice to replace Spears. She is the only current name in the pop world who can really challenge the fame of Britney Spears and her following. Face it, she knows all about putting on a flashy performance and displaying elements of the X-Factor.

2. Kelly Clarkson

Soundtrack | The Kelly Clarkson Show

Kelly Brianne Clarkson was born on April 24, 1982 in Fort Worth, Texas and raised in Burleson, Texas to Jeanne Ann Taylor (née Rose), an English teacher & Stephen Michael Clarkson, an engineer. She was the first winner of the series American Idol in 2002. Kelly is also a strong believer in God.

Replacing: Britney Spears

Clarkson is a huge celebrity right now and has experience on these shows to begin with. She can help find a popstar with the right "X-Factor" persona easily.

3. Shania Twain

Soundtrack | I Heart Huckabees

Shania Twain was born as Eilleen Regina Edwards in 1965 in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, one of three daughters of Clarence and Sharon (Morrison) Edwards (sister Jill is two years older and Carrie-Ann three years younger). When she was age six, her mother remarried Jerry Twain, a full-blooded Ojibwa ...

Replacing: Britney Spears

Shania Twain is a phenomenal singer and artist who could really use her years of experience in the industry to mentor these people to become the best that they can be.

4. Céline Dion

Soundtrack | Titanic

Hailing from the small town of Charlemagne, Québec, Céline Dion has become one of the all-time greatest singers. Céline was born in 1968, the youngest of 14 children. Early in childhood, she sang with her siblings in a small club owned by her parents. From these early experiences, Céline gained the...

Replacing: Britney Spears

Celine Dion is an international superstar. Her music is loved and adored by fans of all ages and just having her name connected with the show would instantly draw fans.

5. Carrie Underwood

Actress | Soul Surfer

Carrie Underwood was born on March 10, 1983 in Muskogee, Oklahoma, USA. She is a music artist and actress, known for Soul Surfer (2011), The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader (2010) and American Idol (2002). She has been married to Mike Fisher since July 10, 2010. They have two ...

Replacing: Britney Spears

Carrie Underwood is modern with ties to both pop and country. In addition, she has experience performing on a reality-singing show and winning. Her know-how could be diverse and prove helpful to mentees.

6. Cher

Actress | Moonstruck

The beat goes on ... and on ... and as strong as ever for this superstar entertainer who has well surpassed the half-century mark while improbably transforming herself from an artificial, glossy "flashionplate" singer into a serious, Oscar-worthy, dramatic actress ... and back again! With more ups ...

Replacing: Britney Spears

Cher is sort of the god mother of pop music. If the show were to bring in any one older more experienced singer, Cher would be the one to bring in. Her expertise surpasses almost all of the other names on this list.

7. Madonna

Soundtrack | A League of Their Own

The remarkable, hyper-ambitious Material Girl who never stops re-inventing herself, Madonna has sold over three hundred million records and CDs to adoring fans worldwide. Her film career, however, is another story. Her performances have consistently drawn scathing or laughable reviews from film ...

Replacing: Britney Spears

It would be nice to get Madonna on board with the show. She is famous and has been famous since the 1980s. She is knowledgeable in the industry and has been involved with it for many years. In addition, I feel that she has a great personality for television.

8. Beyoncé

Soundtrack | Dreamgirls

Beyoncé Giselle Knowles was born on September 4, 1981 in Houston, Texas. Her mom, Tina Knowles designs their glittering costumes & her dad, Mathew Knowles manages Destiny's Child. Solange, her sister (they're 4 years apart) has released her debut album. She dances with her big sister during DC-3 ...

Replacing: Britney Spears

Beyonce is a singer who is equally as talented and well-known as Britney. In addition, this could help to further boost her career and help with Destiny's Child's comeback. Oh by the way, did I mention that she has experience working in a group and could therefore be perfect at mentoring the "Groups" category, which is historically one of the most difficult.

9. Kesha

Soundtrack | On the Basis of Sex

Ke$ha was born on March 1, 1987, in Los Angeles, California. Her big break came from cameo on rapper Flo Rida's 2009 No. 1 hit "Flo Rida Feat. Ke$ha: Right Round (2009)." Soon after, she landed a record contact with RCA and released her first single, Ke$ha: TiK ToK (2009). The party anthem ...

Replacing: Britney Spears

One way to add a little more variety to the show? Bring in another hot young pop star to interact with Simon and Demi Lovato on the judging panel. Who better than the wild and wildly popular pop party star, Kesha?

10. Jessie J

Soundtrack | Ice Age: Collision Course

Jessie J (Jessica Ellen Cornish) was born in Redbridge, London on March 27, 1988. She went to Colins Performing Arts School as a child and when she was 11 she was cast in Andrew Lloyd Weber's musica "Whistle Down the Wind". When she was 17 she joined a girl group and soon after was signed as a solo...

Replacing: Britney Spears

Jessie J is a well known and current pop artist. Adding her name to the list of judges would draw in younger fans even further.

11. Katy Perry

Actress | The Smurfs

Katy Perry was born Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson on October 25, 1984 in Santa Barbara, California to Mary Christine Hudson (née Perry) & Maurice Keith Hudson. She has a big sister named Angela & a little brother named David, and has English, Portuguese, German, Irish, and Scottish ancestry. Her ...

Replacing: Britney Spears

Let's face it, whether you like her music or not, Katy Perry is one of the most popular female pop artists in current music. In addition, like Gaga, she has a huge fanbase which would help draw in viewers to the show. She has showed through her guest-judging experiences on "American Idol" that she isn't afraid to be the tough judge, or to disagree with Simon.

12. Rihanna

Actress | Battleship

Rihanna was born Robyn Rihanna Fenty on February 20, 1988 in Bridgetown, St. Michael, Barbados to Monica Braithwaite, an accountant & Ronald Fenty, a warehouse supervisor. Her mother is Afro-Guyanese and her father is of Afro-Barbadian and British Isles ancestry. Rihanna lived the life of a normal ...

Replacing: Britney Spears

Rihanna is a huge pop sensation right now, which is exactly what Cowell is looking for on this show. She is current and has a pull in the current music scene.

13. Ye

Soundtrack | The Great Gatsby

Kanye Omari West (born June 8, 1977) is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, record producer, entrepreneur and fashion designer. His musical career has been marked by dramatic changes in styles, incorporating an eclectic range of influences including soul, baroque pop, electro, indie rock, ...

Replacing: LA Reid

Kanye West is one of the most notorious names in the music industry today. He is popular and has experience in rap music, which could be helpful with guiding that style of singers.

14. Justin Timberlake

Soundtrack | Trolls

Justin Randall Timberlake was born on January 31, 1981, in Memphis, Tennessee, to Lynn (Bomar) and Randall Timberlake, whose own father was a Baptist minister. At the age of 11, he appeared on the show Star Search (1983), and even though he didn't win, it didn't dampen his ambitions. He also ...

Replacing: LA Reid

So when replacing LA Reid, why not use a well-known name in the music world who is known to have a lot of personality? I really feel that bringing Justin Timberlake to the panel would bring a whole new sense of humor and entertainment to the show.

15. Eminem

Soundtrack | 8 Mile

Eminem was born Marshall Bruce Mathers III in St. Joseph, Missouri, to Deborah R. (Nelson) and Marshall Bruce Mathers, Jr., who were in a band together, Daddy Warbucks. He is of English, as well as some German, Scottish, and Swiss-German, ancestry. Marshall spent his early childhood being shoved ...

Replacing: LA Reid

Rap is becoming more powerful by the day, with most current pop songs incorporating rap elements in some way. Eminem is one of the most popular rappers of our time. In addition, he has a fire that I'm sure would be brought to the judging table.

16. Bruce Springsteen

Soundtrack | Blinded by the Light

Bruce Frederick Joseph Springsteen was born September 23, 1949 in Long Branch, New Jersey, USA. His father, Douglas Frederick Springsteen, worked as a bus driver, and was of Irish and Dutch ancestry. His mother, Adele Ann (Zerilli), worked as a legal secretary, and was of Italian descent. He has an...

Replacing: LA Reid

Bruce Springsteen was one of my hopes to replace Simon Cowell when he left Idol several years ago. Now that there is a vacant male judging seat on "X-Factor", I feel that Springsteen would be a good hit. He is huge internationally, like Celine Dion and would be a fantastic mentor to any young star.

17. Paul McCartney

Soundtrack | Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band

Sir Paul McCartney is a key figure in contemporary culture as a singer, composer, poet, writer, artist, humanitarian, entrepreneur, and holder of more than 3 thousand copyrights. He is in the "Guinness Book of World Records" for most records sold, most #1s (shared), most covered song, "Yesterday," ...

Replacing: LA Reid

If you could get Sir Paul McCartney to judge on the show it would be a huge hit. He has talent that surpasses many others on these lists. In addition, he is a former member of the most famous group of artists of all time. Who would be better at mentoring a difficult category like "Groups" than a former Beatle?

18. Ben Folds

Soundtrack | Godzilla

Ben Folds is widely regarded as one of the major music influencers of our generation.

He's created an enormous body of genre-bending music that includes pop albums with Ben Folds Five, multiple solo albums, and collaborative records with artists from Sara Bareilles and Regina Spektor, to William ...

Replacing: LA Reid

Ben Folds is a musical genius, and is actually very highly recommended by Simon Cowell himself. In addition, Folds has past experience as a judge on television.

19. Flo Rida

Soundtrack | Tropic Thunder

Tramar Lacel Dillard, known professionally as Flo Rida, is an American rapper, singer, songwriter and composer from Carol City, Florida. His 2008 breakout single "Low" was number one for 10 weeks in the United States and broke the record for digital download sales at the time of its release. Flo ...

Replacing: LA Reid

Flo Rida is one of the most talented pop/rap artists in America today. His talent is impressive and could help to guide young acts.

20. Snoop Dogg

Actor | Training Day

Snoop Dogg is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, producer, media personality, entrepreneur, and actor.

His music career began in 1992 when he was discovered by Dr. Dre and featured on Dre's solo debut, "Deep Cover", and then on Dre's solo debut album, The Chronic. He has since sold over 23 ...

Replacing: LA Reid

Adding Snoop Lion to the panel would be extremely controversial due to his behaviors and attitudes. However, adding Howard Stern to "America's Got Talent" was a controversial decision for the same reason, but Cowell took the chance and it worked out well for him. Snoop Lion would be a great addition with years of experience in rap and now reggae.

21. David Guetta

Soundtrack | Fast & Furious 7

David Guetta was born on November 7, 1967 in Paris, France. He is a music artist and composer, known for Furious 7 (2015), Furious 6 (2013) and Wild Tales (2014). He was previously married to Cathy Guetta.

Replacing: LA Reid

Guetta is one of the most well-known and successful music producers in the world of current American pop. His resume basically speaks for itself. In addition, he is used to mentoring people to become great performers.

22. Randy Jackson

Soundtrack | The Truth About Cats & Dogs

Randy Jackson was born on June 23, 1956 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, USA. He is a producer and actor, known for The Truth About Cats & Dogs (1996), Cool Runnings (1993) and American Idol (2002). He was previously married to Erika Jackson and Elizabeth.

Replacing: LA Reid

Yes, he is currently a judge on Idol but what if he wanted to try out another show instead? X-Factor has already tried working with Paula Abdul on their show. Randy could be a valuable mentor as a Grammy-Award winning music producer. He is likely well-known by fans of the X-Factor, many of whom are also fans of "American Idol" and he has a repertoire with Simon. The mentoring process would also give Randy an opportunity to get more involved with contestants.

23. Darius Rucker

Soundtrack | Message in a Bottle

Darius Rucker was born on May 13, 1966 in Charleston, South Carolina, USA. He is a music artist and actor, known for Message in a Bottle (1999), Monte Carlo (2011) and Ted (2012). He has been married to Beth Leonard since December 9, 2000. They have two children.

Replacing: LA Reid

Come on, the guy is the lead singer to "Hootie and the Blowfish". Rucker is a legend and would be welcomed with open arms on the panel if offered I believe. The only thing he has working against him is that he may not be known by the younger audiences.

24. Marilyn Manson

Soundtrack | Detroit Rock City

Marilyn Manson was born Brian Hugh Warner on January 5, 1969 in Canton, Ohio, to Barbara Jo (Wyer) and Hugh Angus Warner. He has German and English ancestry. During his childhood, one of his neighbors molested him several times until the young Brian broke down one day and told his mother what ...

Replacing: LA Reid

Marilyn Manson would add diversity to the show and it would pull in some of his own fan-base. It would create a multi-talented judging panel unlike anything we've seen on this show before.

25. Nicole Polizzi

Actress | The Three Stooges

Nicole Polizzi was born on November 23, 1987 in Santiago, Chile. She is a producer and writer, known for The Three Stooges (2012), Movie 43 (2013) and Supernatural (2005). She has been married to Jionni LaValle since November 29, 2014. They have three children.

Replacing: Khloe Kardashian

As much as I'd hate to say it, Snooki is probably the most marketable replacement to Kardashian. She is well-known to people and likes to be in the spotlight. As a new mother, she may also be looking for a new job that doesn't require her partying like a maniac all the time as well.

26. Rosie O'Donnell

Actress | A League of Their Own

Rosie O'Donnell was born into an Irish-American family in Commack, Long Island. She is the third of five children born to Roseann Teresa (Murtha) and Edward Joseph O'Donnell, an electrical engineer for the defense industry. Her mother died when she was 10. She said that she watched TV nearly 24 ...

Replacing: Khloe Kardashian

Rosie O'Donnell is an outspoken personality. In addition, she has had many experiences as a host and her career could likely benefit from being in the spotlight again.

27. Wanda Sykes

Actress | Monster-in-Law

Wanda Sykes has been called one of the funniest stand-up comics by her peers and ranks among Entertainment Weekly's 25 Funniest People in America. Her smart-witted stand-up has sent her career in many different areas.

She was previously seen in Comedy Central's Wanda Does It (2004), where she tried ...

Replacing: Khloe Kardashian

Much like Rosie O'Donnell, she is known for being outspoken and forward. As a stand-up comic she has experience leading a show. Her chemistry with Lopez, not unlike Rosie's would also be fantastic to see.

28. Jerry Springer

Actor | Domino

Jerry Springer was born on February 13, 1944 in Highgate, London, England, UK. He was a producer and writer, known for Domino (2005), Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me (1999) and Ringmaster (1998). He was married to Margaret 'Micki' JoAnn Velten. He died on April 27, 2023 in Evanston, Illinois,...

Replacing: Khloe Kardashian

It could be nice to have two male hosts on "X-Factor", especially when one of those male hosts is Jerry Springer. Springer has hosted his own show for decades now and has also served as the host of "America's Got Talent" in the past and was very successful.

29. Perez Hilton

Actor | Meet the Blacks

A trained actor, Mario Lavandeira graduated from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts with honors and a degree in drama. He has appeared in many TV shows - most notably Glee; starred in various films - his favorite: the horror classic Most Likely To Die, and headlined two off-Broadway musicals, NEWSical ...

Replacing: Khloe Kardashian

Perez Hilton is an interesting and sassy character and it would be delightful to have him beside Lopez interacting with contestants. The only downside to this would be that he might steal the show away from Lopez.

30. Ricki Lake

Actress | Serial Mom

Ricki Lake was born in Hastings-on-Hudson, New York, surprisingly as a blond. She has one sister, who is one year younger than she, named Jennifer. Her father, Barry, is a pharmacist, and her mother, Jill, is a homemaker. The two currently reside in Las Vegas, Nevada. Ricki attended Hastings ...

Replacing: Khloe Kardashian

Ricki Lake was a very successful talk-show host in the 1990s. I feel like she would find some great enjoyment in hosting this show alongside Lopez and it could bring some attention back to her career.

31. Sharon Osbourne

Actress | It's a Boy Girl Thing

Sharon Osbourne was born on October 9, 1952 in Brixton, London, England, UK. She is a producer and actress, known for It's a Boy Girl Thing (2006), Austin Powers in Goldmember (2002) and Garfield: A Tail of Two Kitties (2006). She has been married to Ozzy Osbourne since July 4, 1982. They have ...

Replacing: Khloe Kardashian

Osbourne is both the best replacement, and one of the most unlikely. She has had experience on reality television and the music industry and has developed a repertoire with Simon Cowell. Unfortunately, due to her feud with NBC and her premature exit from "America's Got Talent" (thus breaking her contract with them), she is not allowed to judge any television shows for seven more years.

In addition, her current professional relationship with Cowell is still unknown. Simon Cowell was the producer of "America's Got Talent" and her employer. And while her argument was with NBC executives strictly, Cowell may be unwilling to bring her in as a host due to this recent news.

32. Whoopi Goldberg

Actress | Ghost

Whoopi Goldberg was born Caryn Elaine Johnson in the Chelsea section of Manhattan on November 13, 1955. Her mother, Emma (Harris), was a teacher and a nurse, and her father, Robert James Johnson, Jr., was a clergyman. Whoopi's recent ancestors were from Georgia, Florida, and Virginia. She worked in...

Replacing: Khloe Kardashian

Whoopi is loud, outspoken, and hilarious. She would be a great personality alongside Lopez running the show.

33. Roseanne Barr

Producer | Roseanne

Firebrand Roseanne Barr has long been one of America's funniest and most controversial comedians.

She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Helen (Davis), a cashier and bookkeeper, and Jerome Hershel "Jerry" Barr, a salesman. Her family was Jewish, and had moved to the U.S. from Russia, Lithuania, ...

Replacing: Khloe Kardashian

Roseanne Barr is a woman with a lot of personality and a lot to say. I feel that she would get involved with contestants in a larger way than most hosts would and provide humor and comic-relief to the show, which always boosts ratings.

34. Ann Curry

Actress | 30 Rock

Ann Curry was born on November 19, 1956 in Agana, Guam. She is an actress and producer, known for 30 Rock (2006), Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (1999) and Dateline NBC (1992). She has been married to Brian Wilson Ross since October 21, 1989. They have two children.

Replacing: Khloe Kardashian

It would be excellent to see Ann Curry hosting alongside Lopez. She is a talented speaker and is great at running social events as a host, as we have seen in the past. I feel like she could have a lot of fun hosting the X Factor.

35. Conan O'Brien

Actor | The Lego Batman Movie

Conan O'Brien grew up in a large Irish Catholic family in Massachusetts. At an early age, he developed a love of comedy and goofing off. This carried on when he entered prestigious Harvard University, acting out many pranks in his time, as well as becoming the president of the Harvard humor ...

Replacing: Khloe Kardashian

If we are going to bring in a male host of the show, why not bring in one of the funniest hosts in the entertainment world. This would be Conan O'Brien, whose humor would bring a new element to the show.
