- DirectorFrancis LawrenceStarsJennifer LawrenceJosh HutchersonLiam HemsworthKatniss Everdeen is in District 13 after she shatters the games forever. Under the leadership of President Coin and the advice of her trusted friends, Katniss spreads her wings as she fights to save Peeta and a nation moved by her courage. The Hunger Games series is my all-time favorite book series, and I'm thrilled with how beautiful and close to the book Catching Fire was. That being said, I'm carefully treading water with Mockingjay. It's my favorite of the trilogy, and I really hope they don't mess it up by giving it two movies, even though there's definitely room for improvement.
- DirectorNeil BurgerStarsShailene WoodleyTheo JamesKate WinsletIn a world divided by factions based on virtues, Tris learns she's Divergent and won't fit in. When she discovers a plot to destroy Divergents, Tris and the mysterious Four must find out what makes Divergents dangerous before it's too late.We realized how excited everyone was for this movie when 2014 hit, and I really hope it does well so that we can get Insurgent and Allegiant. I love the Divergent trilogy so much and love who they cast as Tris and Tobias.
- DirectorMark WatersStarsZoey DeutchLucy FryDanila KozlovskiyRose Hathaway is a Dhampir, half human-half vampire, a guardian of the Moroi, peaceful, mortal vampires living discreetly within our world. Her calling is to protect the Moroi from bloodthirsty, immortal Vampires, the Strigoi. This quirky adaptation of one of my favorite book series by Richelle Mead looks pretty good, and I'm definitely going to see it ten plus times so we can get Frostbite and Shadow Kiss, because the latter is my favorite book of the series.
- DirectorJosh BooneStarsShailene WoodleyAnsel ElgortNat WolffHazel and Gus are teenagers who meet at a cancer support group and fall in love. They both share the same acerbic wit and a love of books, especially "An Imperial Affliction", so they embark on a journey to visit an author in Amsterdam. If there's any ways to make someone cry that TFiOS missed out on, please notify me, because I cried almost through the entirety of the book. It's a gratifying journey and I really hope it translates well to the big screen.
- DirectorMarc WebbStarsAndrew GarfieldEmma StoneJamie FoxxWhen New York is put under siege by Oscorp, it is up to Spider-Man to save the city he swore to protect as well as his loved ones.I'm not really a Spider-Man fan, so the first movie took me by surprise by how much I enjoyed it. Now I'm ready for the second one, which promises to be a hit with new faces like Jamie Foxx.
- DirectorPhillip NoyceStarsBrenton ThwaitesJeff BridgesMeryl StreepIn a seemingly perfect community without war, pain, suffering, differences or choices, a young boy is chosen to learn from an elderly man, the true pain and pleasure of the "real" world.I can't believe they're making this into a movie! I read this when I was in the sixth grade! I'm definitely excited for this one, even though it looks like it's going to be pretty far from the book.
- DirectorAnthony RussoJoe RussoStarsChris EvansSamuel L. JacksonScarlett JohanssonAs Steve Rogers struggles to embrace his role in the modern world, he teams up with a fellow Avenger and S.H.I.E.L.D agent, Black Widow, to battle a new threat from history: an assassin known as the Winter Soldier.I'm really excited for this one, partially because Chris Evans is really hot. But partially because I loved the first one and I'm interested to see where they'll take the character of Captain America.
- DirectorJonathan LiebesmanStarsMegan FoxWill ArnettWilliam FichtnerWhen a kingpin threatens New York City, a group of mutated turtle warriors must emerge from the shadows to protect their home. This is one of the few comic-book movies really I'm excited for, besides the two aforementioned. I always loved TMNT when I was a kid. My only complaint is Megan Fox.
- DirectorMichael BayStarsMark WahlbergNicola Peltz BeckhamJack ReynorWhen humanity allies with a bounty hunter in pursuit of Optimus Prime, the Autobots turn to a mechanic and his family for help.My main reason for wanting to see this is Mark Wahlburg. Huge crush. But I think it could be interesting, with the right script.
- DirectorPeter JacksonStarsIan McKellenMartin FreemanRichard ArmitageBilbo and company are forced to engage in a war against an array of combatants and keep the Lonely Mountain from falling into the hands of a rising darkness.I thought the first Hobbit movie was just okay. However, I loved the second one, so I'm pretty interested in seeing how the series ends. I haven't read the book, even though I did read LoTR.
