- DirectorRichard ThorpeStarsJoan CrawfordFred MacMurrayConrad VeidtOxford Professor Richard Myles and his new bride Frances are off on a European honeymoon. It isn't the typical honeymoon: they are on a spying mission for British Intelligence on the eve of World War II.Joan Crawford and Fred MacMurray go on their Honeymoon to Germany, having agreed to be spies for England - during WWII. It is just fun and entertaining to see them involved in mystery, disguises, Nazi villians, and there moments of humor and romance too.
- DirectorGeorge CukorStarsSpencer TracyKatharine HepburnJudy HollidayDomestic and professional tensions mount when a husband and wife work as opposing lawyers in a case involving a woman who shot her husband. With such a great cast - it is bound to be a hit - Katharine Hepburn, Spencer Tracy, Judy Holliday, Tom Ewell, David Wayne, and Jean Hagen. There is a delightful theme song that runs throughout the movie (Farewell Amanda) that was written just for "Adam's Rib" by COLE PORTER.
- DirectorBilly RayStarsChris CooperRyan PhillippeDennis HaysbertFBI upstart Eric O'Neill enters into a power game with his boss, Robert Hanssen, an agent who was put on trial for selling secrets to the Soviet Union.A real story about catching a spy. Good acting suspenseful drama starring Ryan Phillippe and Chris Cooper
- DirectorEthan CoenJoel CoenStarsBrad PittFrances McDormandGeorge ClooneyA disk containing mysterious information from a CIA agent ends up in the hands of two unscrupulous and daft gym employees who attempt to sell it.One of my favorite comedies - It is always a delight and I watch it frequently. What a Great Cast... well written and I think it's perfect because it always ake me laugh
- DirectorJoshua LoganStarsMarilyn MonroeDon MurrayArthur O'ConnellA naive but stubborn cowboy falls in love with a saloon singer and tries to take her away against her will to get married and live on his ranch in Montana. When I was 15 (1956) I saw this and fell in love with Marilyn Monroe. I saw it 3 times at the local theatre (small town in Ohio) and later when it came to the drive in theatre I walked to the theatre, paid , and sat outside by the concession stand - I did not have driver's license yet. I now own all the DVDs of MM's movies but this my favorite still. She was really portraying a character outside of herself.
- DirectorBen AffleckStarsBen AffleckBryan CranstonJohn GoodmanActing under the cover of a Hollywood producer scouting a location for a science fiction film, a CIA agent launches a dangerous operation to rescue six Americans in Tehran during the U.S. hostage crisis in Iran in 1979.Exciting "real" event, well done. I like Biographies and movies about things that really happened. I think this was very well done because it tells an involved plot in an interesting (entertaining) way.
- DirectorSam NewfieldStarsRory CalhounAudrey LongVirginia GreyHow a plane crash in the jungle affects the survivors after they are rescued. This is a B jungle movie that I saw on TV when I was about 10 years old and certain things in it impressed me at that time and left a lasting impression. I saw it around 1950, and all my life I was hoping to see it again. I found it on a 'cheap' dvd of it when I was 70 and love watching it through my child-like eyes/memory again. Even as a child I knew who Virginia Grey was and she was one of my favorites. I liked Jungle movies too so that's + - but it's not a great classic - just jobs for Virginia and for young Rory Calhoun. It has a plane crash, a cat (female) fight, quicksand, and a killer Gorilla. Good stuff for a 10 year old boy (that's me ...still at heart)

- DirectorMartin BrestStarsEddie MurphyJudge ReinholdJohn AshtonA freewheeling Detroit cop pursuing a murder investigation finds himself dealing with the very different culture of Beverly Hills. Some of my favorites are not so much because of the story or characters but because I see familiar places and remember that time (my friends back then, where I lived, the music I loved, etc - -). This is one of those comfortable, friently movies for me because it came out during my first year to live in Los Angeles - I enjoy the views of LA and the music of 1984 so much. (...left LA in 1995)
- DirectorJohn FarrowStarsRay MillandMaureen O'SullivanCharles LaughtonA magazine tycoon commits a murder and pins it on an innocent man, who then tries to solve the murder himself. In the 1980s I saw "No Way Out" (Kevin Costner movie). Later, around 2005, I was watching "The Big Clock" (1948) on TCM. I was really loving it and in the middle of the movie I realized I had seen it before, but different. It was the same story as "No Way Out" with changes in location, jobs, and characters, etc - but they were going thru the same emotional or physical events.
Today I like "The Big Clock" more than I like "No Way Out". Try watching the 1948 movie before you watch the 1987 movie. They totally different and yet the same. I like watching them back to back. - DirectorPenny MarshallStarsTom HanksElizabeth PerkinsRobert LoggiaAfter wishing to be made big, a teenage boy wakes the next morning to find himself mysteriously in the body of an adult.
- DirectorMike NicholsStarsRobin WilliamsNathan LaneGene HackmanA gay cabaret owner and his drag queen companion agree to put up a false straight front so that their son can introduce them to his fiancée's right-wing moralistic parents.I do not like Robbin Williams movies. Nothing personal, it's just 'something' - maybe its: His type of humor, or personality, or his delivery, - I don't know what it is,~ but "The Birdcage" is my only 'favorite movie' that stars Robin Williams and I really enjoy him in that role. I fall over laughing at the whole movie - start to finish.
- DirectorArthur PennStarsWarren BeattyFaye DunawayMichael J. PollardBored waitress Bonnie Parker falls in love with an ex-con named Clyde Barrow and together they start a violent crime spree through the country, stealing cars and robbing banks. It's a Classic - I have to love it (it's a Warren Beatty Movie)

- DirectorDavid ButlerStarsDoris DayGordon MacRaeLeon AmesMarjorie Winfield's engagement to Bill Sherman, who has just arrived home from fighting in World War I, serves as the backdrop for the trials and tribulations of her family. It is Only Billy Gray, Mary Wickes and Leon Ames that make this a favorite movie for me. You can take out the music. I like some Doris Day musicals but is just too KORNY for me.
