Devotion Cinema Classics
My favourite films. Mostly based on reoccurrence, re-watchability and overall cinematic greatness. But Seed of Chucky is in here and I gave that a 6 but y'know - flexible ratings and that movie sucks, but it's one of my favourite movies... Don is a genius, the guy can't miss. Even when he does... Fuck, man. These movies are good.

- DirectorDavid LynchStarsIsabella RosselliniKyle MacLachlanDennis HopperThe discovery of a severed human ear found in a field leads a young man on an investigation related to a beautiful, mysterious nightclub singer and a group of psychopathic criminals who have kidnapped her child. The greatest film by the greatest director of all-time and the first score collaboration between the aformentioned auteur, surrealist legend David Lynch and EXCEPTIONAL New Jersey native Angelo Badalamenti. The duo would go on to change my life (and the lives of many, many others) with many more beautiful collaborations but this film is just something special. I know I have a lot of personal biases for this film, but I KNOW even more about the influence and objective auteur brilliance this film brought to the table. Bravo, Mr. Lynch. R.I.P Angelo. Go watch Twin Peaks, and watch and listen to all of their stuff.
- DirectorStanley KubrickStarsMalcolm McDowellPatrick MageeMichael BatesIn the future, a sadistic gang leader is imprisoned and volunteers for a conduct-aversion experiment, but it doesn't go as planned.Malcolm sells the film, Kubrick was a dick but a genius and some scenes shouldn't have been shot but it's a fucking masterpiece, man.
- DirectorRobert EggersStarsRobert PattinsonWillem DafoeValeriia KaramanTwo lighthouse keepers try to maintain their sanity while living on a remote and mysterious New England island in the 1890s.James Whale gone Lynchian... and a lot of other immaculately-woven nuance I am too lazy to get into on the IMDB notes.
- DirectorKevin SmithStarsBrian O'HalloranJeff AndersonRosario DawsonA calamity at Dante and Randal's shops sends them looking for new horizons - but they ultimately settle at the fast food empire Mooby's.Political correctness out the window and balls-to-the-wall but never, ever hateful or spiteful or mean. Not for a second. Kevin Smith has a beautiful, beautiful heart and this is a beautiful fucking man. What a human being. Bless Kevin. Oh, and this movie is funny as fuck if you are high or stupid or initiated enough. Just don't let Kevin ever say this film sucks ever again, that man is reborn. Love you, Lunchbox, xoxo.

Objectively better than Halloween, but it doesn't take the preference for me. Still a perfect film in my eyes, I don't know why I just compared it to Halloween... don't compare Carpenter's films, dick.

- DirectorChuck RussellStarsHeather LangenkampRobert EnglundCraig WassonA psychiatrist familiar with knife-wielding dream demon Freddy Krueger helps teens at a mental hospital battle the killer who is invading their dreams.I don't think this film is objectively an 8, and I rate some films objectively but mostly on opinion so it's kinda bias and confusing but it's from the heart, man. This film was way better than 2 though, I had really bad rose-tinted glasses for that one. I didn't even NOTICE the homo-erotic stuff forced into it when I was a kid rewatching it over and over... and that was just about the only good part about my most recent Halloween October marathon watch of this film.... or that film... that isn't on this list... but 3 is pretty good still, yeah. Have I watched this in a while though? fuck lmao.

Watching it on the SCREAM (Canadian horror channel, run a quick YouTube and Google search on it and look at the logo and bumpers, lmao - ahhhh, the nostalgia. A lot of these films I watched there first or a lot on repeat - but the TCM franchise used to air in the mornings and I'd wake early before school and watch them. I miss that dearly, just as the world misses Tobe Hooper. R.I.P, my brother.) uhhhhhh where was I?

Masterpiece. Plus; Baltimore is scarier and nastier than this film, especially nowadays so I'd say Waters was (once again) ahead of his time. - DirectorJohn WatersStarsJohnny DeppRicki LakeAmy LocaneIn 1950s Baltimore, a bad boy with a heart of gold wins the love of a good girl, whose boyfriend sets out for revenge.Criminally underrated amongst John's work, collossally overrated by Depp thumpers.
