- DirectorStewart HendlerStarsBriana EviganRumer WillisCarrie FisherA group of sorority sisters try to cover up the death of their house-sister after a prank gone wrong, only to be stalked by a serial killer.Despite not being a major success, it was fairly popular at the time and home video sales were very profitable. Which would have been a no-brainer for a sequel as straight to video horror was still very big at the time. The movie ended with a hint that a sequel could happen and people involved were suggesting it could as well. Fan fiction screenplays have surfaced over the years, but unfortunately all has gone cold with this could-be slasher franchise. Summit Entertainment had released this movie and at the time their primary focus was of course, the twilight franchise. So of course anything that was not making more money than those movies was considered a dud in their eyes. Just a few years later, Lionsgate would, of course, acquire, summit entertainment, and their primary focus was, of course, the saw franchise.
- DirectorPatrick LussierStarsJensen AcklesJaime KingKerr SmithTom returns to his hometown on the tenth anniversary of the Valentine's night massacre that claimed the lives of 22 people. Instead of a homecoming, Tom finds himself suspected of committing the murders, and it seems like his old flame is the only one that believes he's innocent. This remake of a Canadian slasher film was the start of reviving, the 3D film experience. It was a very big success, despite the fact that it was released an entire month before Valentine’s Day, in order to not coincide with the remake of Friday the 13th. The team behind this film along with all of the main actors that their characters survived. We’re all willing to do a sequel. In fact, a screenplay had been at the minimum started, and a treatment had definitely been completed. Unfortunately, just like sorority row, my bloody valentine was not a top priority for its studio. At this time, Lionsgate was still very much putting all of their eggs in one basket with the saw franchise. Any other horror movies were second fiddle, which unfortunately was, of course, my bloody valentine. Coincidentally the “final” saw movie was released in October 2010. So it would have been a no-brainer to have other horror franchises established. There has been no news on the possibility of doing MBV2, however, fans still would love to see it happen.
- DirectorDwight H. LittleStarsDonald PleasenceEllie CornellDanielle HarrisTen years after his original massacre, the invalid Michael Myers awakens on Halloween Eve and returns to Haddonfield to kill his seven-year-old niece. Can Dr. Loomis stop him?The 10 year gap between Halloween II and Halloween 4 has always been a very big mystery for the Halloween fandom. There have been attempts to make a sequel in various formats the books, comic books, animation, and of course a live action movie. Unfortunately, so much time has gone on that it seems less and less likely to ever bridge that 10 year gap between the two sequels. However, I feel that because of the popularity with the universal pictures Halloween trilogy there is a possibility that we could finally get something that would bridge the gap. My guess is it would likely be animated simply because of the fact that they would likely not want to hire a bunch of actors that look similar to the actors that are now of course 40 or so years older and it would likely cost too much to the age most of the actors. There has been no official word, however, of all of the Halloween sequels that have never happened this somehow always tends to be one of the more popular of that bunch.
- DirectorRob ZombieStarsScout Taylor-ComptonTyler ManeMalcolm McDowellLaurie Strode struggles to come to terms with her brother Michael's deadly return to Haddonfield, Illinois; meanwhile, Michael prepares for another reunion with his sister. At the time Halloween II was considered absolute trash by a big portion of the Halloween franchise. I was very much on the fence with this movie and felt that it was rushed, sloppy, and poorly edited. However, I don’t think that it even remotely deserved the majority of the heat that it received simply for trying something different in the franchise that has had plenty of really rough and experimental additions. I also was looking forward to the already talked about Halloween III, which would feature Scout Taylor Compton, returning as Laurie strode, and any mental institution following the events of the previous film. I think that it could have been a very interesting and unique installment in the franchise if it fully explored the true and horrific trauma of Laurie strode the sister of Michael Myers, went through. Right off the bat, Rob Zombie had denounced his involvement with the franchise any further. He had not even wanted to do Halloween II, but felt obligated, and from what he had said, his experience with the sequel was not the best. Initially the team behind My Bloody Valentine 3-D we’re going to take on this proposed sequel and were prepared to move forward with it. However, there were constant delays, and the project remained in development, held for several years until the team had dropped out of the project to work on a different project. Questions about whether or not this sequel would ever happen, remained for many years until it was eventually announced that Jamie Lee Curtis would return in a reboot sequel that would overhaul the entire franchise. Questions still remain on whether or not this sequel will ever happen. My guess is it probably will never happen. However, it would be an interesting decision and an interesting direction to go in with a franchise that has had one of its all-time worst, reviewed, rated and critiqued movies ever with Halloween ends.
- DirectorFede AlvarezStarsJane LevyShiloh FernandezJessica LucasFive friends head to a remote cabin, where the discovery of a Book of the Dead leads them to unwittingly summon up demons living in the nearby woods. Before this revival of the Evil Dead franchise was released, there was a clear plan from Sam Raimi; Evil Dead, Evil Dead 2, direct follow-up to Army of Darkness with Ash, crossover movie with Ash & Mia. Unfortunately, plans shifted after the movie was released and a TV series, Ash vs. Evil Dead (2015-2018) was released. A direct follow-up to the 2013 revival was quieted down as director Fede Alvarez suggested he did not want to helm it. A fifth film installment to the franchise is slated to be released in April 2023, 10 years later. However, like ED2013, Evil Dead Rises is being labeled a "standalone" film unrelated to the main storyline of the franchise.
