For sure one of the best horror films in recent years. You got the perfect 70s pseudo grindhouse porn look, the weird camera angles and music, and a tremendous cast and characters (and the lead girl is just double as good!). But the main thing: a really good plot, that takes its time to complete its change from pseudo porn to brutal gory slasher not to stall the audience but because THIS slasher is not only out for blood but for some deeper shit too that need the time and space to unfold in the subtext of the movie properly until it's ready to release the carnage. You don't see something like that often in a horror flick other than as an on the nose plot device. Here it's owned and cleverly embodied so that you can think about X from a lot of different angles. Well done, Mr. West. Well done! - Jay (Germany) - DirectorZach CreggerStarsGeorgina CampbellBill SkarsgårdJustin LongA woman staying at an Airbnb discovers that the house she has rented is not what it seems.9,2 Stars

A really nice film - I'm still thinking a lot because the film is told from the father's point of view and that of course gives a lot of room for criticism, but I personally thought it was appropriate - because it might be able to reach more people that way. Definitely a good family film. - Anna (Germany) - DirectorAndrew DominikStarsAna de ArmasLily FisherJulianne NicholsonThe story of American actress Marilyn Monroe, covering her love and professional lives.7,9 Stars
Awesome movie, well done.
Not knowing anything about Marylyn's life is shocking. The poor little girl who struggles through life and isn't really seen. - Christina (Germany)

Do old people still have sex and if so, could they please keep quiet about it? That's what many people think - until they get old themselves, that is... Given the movie's subject, I expected a raunchy comedy. What I got was a sometimes funny, but mostly thoughtful, often touching little movie. Emma Thompson gives a fearless performance. I love about her that she just doesen't give a fuck about other people's opinions. If the sight of a naked lady in her 60s bothers you, or if frank discussions about sexuality make you uncomfortable, you might want to skip this movie - but you may need some help in your personal life. - Steffen (Germany) - DirectorAkiva SchafferStarsAndy SambergJohn MulaneyKiKi LayneThirty years after their popular television show ended, chipmunks Chip and Dale live very different lives. Writer/Director Tom Gormican is no Charlie Kaufman and this is no "Being John Malkovich" - but it's a fun, crazy, sometimes surprisingly sweet story with a very game Nicolas Cage. And the flick recognises the genius of "Paddington 2", so thumbs up. - Steffen (Germany)

Karl Urban's manly voice makes for this movie's highlight. Very linear and trying to play along the lines of "How to train your dragon". Typical trying to make Tom Holland look like a tough guy but still looking like a kid. It's totally realistic and believable with characters you wished you cared about and plots so full of holes and history nonsense that it could be enjoyable. It's not. They say, It's a re-quel because it isn't just a sequel and doesn't reboot the original either but hangs closer to the first one than to the rest of the series... Tomato tomato. But does it work? I kinda liked it. Maybe I go down a notch with my vote in a few days because it fails to bring something really new to the table. But the rest is quite entertaining. And hey, it brings Scream back. David Cronenberg is back. With a freaky tale from the future that could have been easily an episode of Black Mirror. But with this unsettling Cronenbergish look and deeply nightmarish feel. You wanted Cronenberg and you got Cronenberg. Don't complain about an unsatisfying ending. You could make the case that the movie promises at times more than it delivers. Enola Holmes 2 - I kind of liked the tricky case with a lot of plot twists and of course Millie Bobby Brown. The style of the movie is also well chosen and realized with a great sense of humor as well as many artsy parts of ironic self reflection. - Max (Germany)

This is NOT a remake. But clearly, some producer thought: "Hey, why don't they make movies like "Romancing The Stone" anymore? Maybe I should give it a shot." So here we are. Nothing in this movie is original or innovative, it's just a bunch of charming people making fun of themselves. And why the heck not? Breezy, lighthearted fun, easy to digest. - Steffen (Germany)
One pretty awesome "Oh shit! Didn't see that coming" scene. Points just for Sandra Bullock acting abilities to make it believable that an author with zero survival skills can make it through a jungle on a bright, purple onesie, high heels and perfect hair. Points for Channing Tatum's charms as well. God, he's been trying so hard to shed his boyish, only-good-for-dancing-and-modeling. Pretty much everyone knows of the 12 boys and their coach getting
trapped in a flooded cave in Thailand 2018 and the ensuing rescue
mission. Director Ron Howard wisely chose to tell the story as a
relatively straight-forward docudrama, not a Hollywood tearjerker, and
it works all the better for it. - Steffen (Germany) - DirectorHenry SelickStarsLyric RossKeegan-Michael KeyJordan PeeleTwo scheming demon brothers, Wendell and Wild, enlist the aid of 13-year-old Kat Elliot to summon them to the Land of the Living.6 Stars

For those in the know, Scott Adkins is a bona fide action superstar. A
gifted martial artist. A not quite so gifted actor, but he’s gotten much
better over the years. And the Accident Man is his best role yet. This

This movie is so hard to watch, it is brutal. I love it for Brendan Fraser and the performances are on point. But with themes of isolation, religious abuse and the deterioration of relationships, it is not an easy watch (bit like August: Osage County was for me).
I found it so hard to rate for that reason. Simultaneously brilliant and awful. - Mei (Australia) - DirectorAlessio Maria FedericiStarsIlenia PastorelliMatilde GioliGiuseppe MaggioIn this rom-com challenging the concept of soulmates, parallel storylines portray four single friends as they pair up in different couple combinations.5,94 Stars

Saw through the plot after 15 minutes in. The flair and charm of that age never dulled though. On an artistic level, it's beautiful. Apart from the main character playing Poirot, the detective, you just sense the other actors/actresses trying way too hard on their accents. - Eddy (Malasyia)
Kenneth Branagh´s Latest Version of a classic with a stunning cast. Lots of Drama and lots of green screen. Not everything looks perfect and some is a bit overdramatic… as we know Branagh. The Foo Fighters are making a horror film about how their latest album came about? And not bad at all. The second flic of D.J. Caruso this year. More the kind you'd expect from him. A well done grim little chamber-thriller. Very effective. Is it the ani-thesis to "redeeming love"? Not quite. Surprisingly it plays with some biblical themes too. Rainey Qualley does a remarkable job as the lead. And it was nice to see Vincent Gallo again. - Jay (Germany) - DirectorD.J. The book is more rewarding than the movie. Perhaps it's the graphic parts that I imagine is very different than what was presented. - Eddy (Malaysia)
D.J. Caruso made a christian movie? Yes he did. He even adapted the screenplay. And the title is program. Does it work? Sort of. As a movie it's well crafted. And the story is heart wrenching. But also chesy as fuck. Is this my inner zynic talking? I honestly don't know. Because on the other hand I was moved too. Who doesn't long to be loved by someone in the way the male character (the Jesus figure) loves the wayward girl? You have to be an asshole to deny that. But obviously it's overdone for my taste.
