Praetorian Jack's role in Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga could be pivotal, potentially explaining why Furiosa stays loyal to the villain. Tom Burke's character may be just as important as Immortan Joe and Dementus in the upcoming film's storyline. Despite limited screen time in promotional materials, Praetorian Jack could play a major part in shaping Furiosa's character arc.
Although Chris Hemsworth’s Dementus and Lachy Hulme’s Immortan Joe have gotten a lot of attention since Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga’s second trailer arrived, these two villains aren’t the Mad Max spinoff's most mysterious character. story of Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga promises to delve into the origins of Charlize Theron’s Fury Road heroine, Furiosa. Anya Taylor-Joy plays a younger version of Furiosa who is kidnapped from the Green Place by Chris Hemsworth’s villainous biker gang leader, Dementus. Immortan Joe will also be in the mix.

Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga delves into the tragedy of the Green Place, showing its significance before Fury Road. The prequel reveals the downfall of the lush oasis, contrasting Furiosa's childhood memories with its current state. Furiosa's journey showcases her devastating loss, making the Green Place tragedy in Fury Road more poignant.
Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, which stars Anya Taylor-Joy as the titular character, leans into its power as a prequel by making one sad Mad Max: Fury Road story even more tragic. Written and directed by George Miller, 2015's Fury Road revived the cult classic post-apocalyptic action film series, with Tom Hardy playing Max Rockatansky. A survivor who's haunted by his past, Mad Max is captured by warlord Immortan Joe. Soon enough, one of Joe's lieutenants, Imperator Furiosa (Charlize Theron), flees in a War Rig with Joe's five wives, leading to an unlikely alliance between Furiosa and Max.

Hollywood has a problem. A problem with names. If you are not American, or English (and even that is a problem sometimes), then chances are people have been butchering your name since forever. Irish, Afrikans, Indian, Eastern European, or really, anywhere that is not American, it won’t be a surprise for people to learn that even after decades, some celebrities have been called by names that is not really theirs.

Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga aims to rectify the lack of character development in Mad Max: Fury Road through a more emotional and engaging storyline. The prequel sets up bigger emotional stakes and a Yojimbo-style narrative for Furiosa as she seeks revenge against a personal enemy. Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga strikes a balance between action-packed sequences and intimate character study, promising a captivating cinematic experience.
Based on its trailers, Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga – George Miller’s Furiosa-centric prequel – seems to be fixing the one major flaw from Mad Max: Fury Road. Furiosa seeks to fill in the backstory of Charlize Theron’s scene-stealing character from Fury Road. In the prequel, Furiosa is played by Anya Taylor-Joy. She’s captured from the Green Place of Many Mothers by a Biker Horde, and sets out to exact revenge against the villainous Warlord Dementus, played by an against-type Chris Hemsworth (who...

New actors play familiar characters in the film set before Fury Road, including Chris Hemsworth as a new character, Dementus. Furiosa strikes a deal with Immortan Joe in the trailer to take out Dementus, setting up a tragic turn of events for the heroine. Furiosa's backstory in the upcoming prequel will likely explain her short-sighted decision to work for Immortan Joe in Fury Road.
As surprising as it sounds, Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga’s second trailer heavily implies that the Mad Max franchise heroine was instrumental in her own downfall in Mad Max: Fury Road. When viewers met Charlize Theron's Furiosa in 2015’s Fury Road, the heroic character was working for the monstrous warlord Immortan Joe. Although she soon betrayed him to save the women he kept hostage, the movie never explained how Furiosa ended up in his employ in the first place. Now, the upcoming Furiosa: A...

“There will always be war,” intones an authoritative voice at the end of the second trailer for Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga. “But to get home, Furiosa fought the world.”
A narrator isn’t exactly something new to the world of Mad Max, as the 1981 sequel Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior opens and closes with voiceover, as does 2015’s Mad Max: Fury Road. But in those cases, the narration served a basic expositional purpose, providing basic information for those who have not seen the previous films — something particularly important for The Road Warrior, as few Americans had the opportunity to watch 1979’s Mad Max.
But as Anya Taylor-Joy steps in for Charlize Theron in Furiosa, the narrator serves a different, more important in-universe purpose.

Anya Taylor-Joy didn't shave her head for Furiosa, but according to the film's costume designer, she wanted to. George Miller wasn't on board with the idea of Taylor-Joy shaving her head, likely because she needed long hair for most of the film. Furiosa promises to give a backstory for its lead's iconic look, revealing why she shaved her head and how she lost her arm.
Anya Taylor-Joy is taking on the lead role of Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, and the Fury Road prequel's first trailer ends with her sporting the character's signature look: a shaved head and mechanical arm. This may leave viewers wondering if Taylor-Joy actually shaved her head — and the answer might surprise them. Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga will dive deeper into Furiosa's backstory, providing insight into her childhood with the Vuvalini of Many Mothers. Furiosa's mom, Mary Jo Bassa, emerges as the original hero in the franchise, leading the fight against villains before Furiosa becomes a warrior. The portrayal of Furiosa's mom could potentially set up another Mad Max prequel movie, exploring her story further and delving into her time raising Furiosa.
Anya Taylor-Joy steps into the lead role as Furiosa in Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, but the movie is introducing someone else as the franchise's original hero. George Miller launched the Mad Max franchise in 1979 with Mel Gibson occupying the lead role. Gibson remained in the role for the original trilogy, before Mad Max: Fury Road recast him with Tom Hardy. The movie was also responsible for introducing audiences to Charlize Theron's Furiosa, who became so popular that Miller began planning for a prequel.

A symphonic remix of David Bowie's "Man Who Sold the World" sets the tone for Furiosa's dark origins and struggle with identity. The song reflects the thematic elements of the film, echoing Furiosa's search for self in a harsh post-apocalyptic world. While showcasing high-octane action scenes, Furiosa promises to delve into the emotional journey of its iconic character.
In Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga's new trailer, audiences might notice a familiar track, which perfectly fits the film and its overarching Mad Max universe. Anya Taylor-Joy’s Furiosa is all set to be the next installment of the Mad Max franchise, with the Dune 2 alum all set to brave the desert again. While Taylor-Joy might be able to pull some audiences to the theatre, it seems that fans are more enamored by another actor who is in the film as well.
Chris Hemsworth as Dementus in a still from Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga
Chris Hemsworth will be essaying the role of Dementus, a powerful warlord of the Wasteland, who might have become somewhat of a fan favorite. Hemsworth is being praised for whatever little of him was seen in the trailer, that too in the guise of a full-fledged villain, a stark contrast from his more heroic and straightforward roles like in the MCU or Men In Black franchises.

The narrator in the new Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga trailer was not just a feature for promotional purposes.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, director George Miller explained that the voiceover is actually a character in the franchise. "That's a narrator called the History Man," he said. "In this story, we meet the History Man, and because it's a saga. Fury Road happened over three days and two nights. This movie happens over basically 16 years from when she's 10 to 26. It goes on a little further when she becomes 28, but it's basically over those 16 years - and we meet this character, and he is integral to the story. So, he's the narrator."

It is a well-known fact that George Miller is one of Australia’s best directors and filmmakers. His best-known work is the Mad Max franchise, which starred with Mel Gibson in the titular role; he was later replaced by Tom Hardy in Fury Road, a movie that also introduced the character of Furiosa, initially played by Charlize Theron. Furiosa was such an amazing addition to the franchise that Miller decided to give her a standalone prequel movie, where Anya Taylor-Joy will be playing a younger version of the character.

Immortan Joe's shadow looms large in the background, hinting at his rise in power before Fury Road. Furiosa's journey to confront Dementus and face Immortan Joe's looming presence in the franchise is just beginning.

Furiosa's improved CGI in the second trailer has put to rest initial concerns about the film's quality mentioned by fans. With George Miller's patient approach, Furiosa is set to be a major sci-fi blockbuster of 2024, challenging other big releases. The origin story of Furiosa, played by Anya Taylor-Joy, promises to be a thrilling addition to the Mad Max franchise.
The new trailer for Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga has reaffirmed that one of the biggest initial complaints about the movie was always ridiculous. When the first trailer for the heavily anticipated Mad Max prequel was released in late November 2023, many viewers were quick to comment on its notable use of CGI. This had caused some Mad Max fans to wonder whether the entire film would rely too heavily on CGI, unlike the 2015 instant classic Mad Max: Fury Road that looked incredibly realistic by comparison.

Young Alyla Browne stars as child Furiosa in the Mad Max prequel, showing her early life in The Green Place of Many Mothers. Browne's performance will be crucial to Furiosa's story, impacting the character's narrative throughout the entire Mad Max franchise. Back in 2010, it was reported that director George Miller would be shooting two new entries in his Mad Max franchise back-to-back: the sequel Mad Max: Fury Road and a follow-up called Furiosa. But things didn’t work out that way, and making Mad Max: Fury Road on its own proved to quite a struggle – a five month shoot in the deserts of Namibia, with two lead actors (Tom Hardy as Max Rockatansky and Charlize Theron as Furiosa) who couldn’t stand each other. Miller didn’t let the grueling process put him off making more Mad Max movies, though. Immediately after the release of Mad Max: Fury Road in 2015, Miller announced that he had already written a screenplay and a novella of further stories… and Max himself would return in a film called Mad Max: The Wasteland. But eight years have passed, and while Furiosa is ready to go (with...

Largely beloved upon its arrival in 2015, George Miller’s “Mad Max: Fury Road” is now considered a 21st-century classic. And while the adrenaline-pounding film was supposed to be a Mad Max story, clearly one of the more compelling characters was Charlize Theron’s Furiosa, who went toe to toe with Tom Hardy’s Max in the movie. When Hardy announced a sequel or rather a prequel centered on Furiosa, fans had hoped that Theron would reprise the role; Theron herself was also dying to give the wasteland another try.

When it comes to the summer blockbuster slate, aside from a new thriller from M. Night Shyamalan and the first two parts of Kevin Costner’s western saga, the only other studio release that brings much interest is George Miller’s Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga. Ahead of a likely Cannes premiere and theatrical release in May, WB has now dropped the second trailer, while Miller has revealed more about the casting of his lead as Anya-Taylor Joy steps in for Charlize Theron.
“It definitely would have been Charlize [had Furiosa been filmed before Fury Road],” Miller explained to IGN. “I began thinking, ‘Oh, maybe we could do de-aging.’ Then I watched really masterful filmmakers like Ang Lee and Martin Scorsese, doing Gemini Man and The Irishman, and I saw that it hadn’t been licked. All you’d be watching is, ‘Look how well the technology works?’ It would not have been persuasive.”

We've already had a glimpse of George Miller's latest shiny and chrome return to his dystopian Mad Max world, Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, via the first trailer that dropped late last year. A new one, featuring more about the title character's story and Anya Taylor-Joy being a badass, is now online for you to witness:
Turning back the clock to the younger days of Charlize Theron's Fury Road character, this new look at the prequel film offers more details on what happened with Furiosa (Taylor-Joy).
We'll meet her as a girl (played initially by Alyla Browne) brought up in the lush, verdant Green Place of Many Mothers, one of the few vegetated areas still thriving in the aftermath of nuclear apocalypse. But she falls into the hands of the warlord Dementus, and so begins a vengeful quest to rescue her mother from the clutches of the villain.

Warner Bros. has released the second trailer for George Miller’s “Furiosa”, the post-apocalyptic prequel to “Mad Max: Fury Road.” The film stars Anya-Taylor Joy as wasteland warrior princess Imperator Furiosa, a role originally plated by Charlize Theron in the 2015 series reboot.
The film follows a young Furiosa as she is ripped from her refuge in the Green Place of Many Mothers and, for the first time, forced to face the insanity of the desolate world beyond. Chris Hemsworth and Tom Burke star alongside Taylor-Joy.
The new trailer shows Taylor-Joy going full Furiosa by cutting her hair and wearing her robotic arm prosthetic. It begins with a flashback to an even younger Furiosa getting kidnapped by a gang of marauders on motorbikes. As a young adult, she then goes on a revenge rampage against Hemsworth’s unnamed ringleader. Just like “Fury Road,” there is plenty of car carnage and wasteland weirdos teased in the trailer.

It didn’t used to be an issue when a character was recast with a younger actor for a prequel or flashback scene, but with digital de-aging, directors can choose to have the same actor portray a character throughout their life. When it was announced that George Miller would be directing a Mad Max: Fury Road prequel featuring Furiosa, some were upset when he decided to recast the role rather than de-age Charlize Theron.
While speaking with Empire (via IGN), George Miller explained why he recast the role of Furiosa with Anya Taylor-Joy instead of de-aging Charlize Theron.
“It definitely would have been Charlize [had Furiosa been filmed before Fury Road],” Miller said. “I began thinking, ‘Oh, maybe we could do de-aging.’ Then I watched really masterful filmmakers like Ang Lee and Martin Scorsese, doing Gemini Man and The Irishman, and I saw that it hadn’t been licked. All you’d be watching is, ‘Look how well the technology works?...

As shown by an MCU fan on Reddit, every MCU movie released so far features at least one Oscar winner, except for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Robert Downey Jr.'s 2024 Oscar win retroactively gives Avengers: Age of Ultron its only Academy Award winner. The MCU continues to attract top-tier actors, with upcoming Phase 5 projects featuring Oscar-nominated performers such as Hugh Jackman, Harrison Ford, Florence Pugh, and Mahershala Ali.
A surprising MCU statistic shows the impressive amount of A-list talent Marvel Studios has amassed throughout the years, revealing how every movie in the franchise has had at least one Oscar winner, except for one Phase 5 installment. Throughout the McU's 16-year history, dozens of accomplished performers have joined the franchise, including multiple actors who have won Oscars for Best Actor or Best Supporting Actor, either before or after their MCU debut. The 96th Academy Awards presented Robert Downey Jr. with...
