- There have been times when it's been hard for me to find work. I'm still a young man and I have a lot to give. If I don't get any more chances on a major level, there's not much I can do about it.
- NYPD Blue (1993) will not be successful when I leave.
- [on his successful comeback in Hollywood, as the star of CSI: Miami (2002)] For somebody who fell to the place that I fell in terms of unemployment and a damaged reputation, the fact that this town was willing to give me another chance is incredible.
- If you're not willing to risk, there are no rewards.
- I was a guy who abandoned a TV show. I didn't care about people. They didn't want to see good things happen to me.
- [on doing movies after NYPD Blue (1993)] It really comes down to the fact that, because I was perceived as a bad guy for leaving the show, I think people were rooting against the movies. That was really unfortunate.
- My leaving of NYPD Blue (1993) had become notorious. I became the guy who had this great opportunity and walked away from it. People still see me as this enigma. It was my fault. The whole thing came and went in two years - NYPD Blue, Kiss of Death (1995) and Jade (1995). My exit from the show was so notorious that I felt it colored the release of the two movies. I don't think the pictures were looked at fairly because they were under the umbrella of this guy who had this great opportunity and walked away from it. And I'm still living with that today.
