Valerie Bertinelli’s departure from “Kids Baking Championship” is not a cut-and-dry case of Food Network firing the “One Day at a Time” alum from her role as co-host and judge of the show. Rather, it’s the aftermath of the Warner Bros. Discovery-owned channel deciding not to renew Bertinelli’s larger exclusive deal with the network when it ended in 2022, sources tell Variety.
Bertinelli signed a multi-series deal with Food Network in 2018, which expired in 2021. Valerie Bertinelli took to Instagram to show her followers her natural gray roots.
In the video, which she captioned, “PSA about filters and grey roots,” Bertinelli talked about receiving negative feedback when using face filters and rumors that she wears a wig.
“I’m filming with no filter today because some of y’all get really bent out of shape when I choose to use a filter, which I’ve told you about,” Bertinelli said. “Sometimes I use a filter, and sometimes I don’t. Most of the time, I do use a filter because this is me with no makeup, and this is no filter.”
Bertinelli also addressed rumors about wearing a wig.

The death of Norman Lear at the age of 101 ended the reign of one of the most prolific television producers in the industry’s history. Lear was known for pushing viewers’ buttons in some of his most unforgettable television series, including All in the Family, Maude, Sanford and Son, One Day at a Time, The Jeffersons, and Good Times. Lear never shied away from tackling the tough topics. Here are 5 of Norman Lear’s most controversial TV episodes.
‘All in the Family’: Edith’s 50th Birthday
The two-part All in the Family episode titled “Edith’s 50th Birthday” was a dark look into Edith Bunker’s (Jean Stapelton) attempted rape. It was the first time a television sitcom dealt directly with the subject.

Wolfgang Van Halen‘s Mammoth Wvh have shared the video for “I’m Alright,” the latest single from the upcoming Mammoth II full-length, out Friday (August 4th).
The five-minute track is a propulsive hard rocker highlighted by a strong vocal performance from Wolfgang. He shows off his soulful side here, extending notes and hitting some impressive melodic vibratos. And as we’ve come to expect from Wolfgang and his band, there’s plenty of surging guitars and stadium-ready chords.
“’I’m Alright’ is the single that is coinciding with the album release,” explained Wolfgang in a press release. “I think it’s really funny that the lyrics are quite angry but delivered through the lens of sort of a comfy rock song. If there ever was an anthem for myself about standing up for what I believe I should be doing — as opposed to what people expect — this is certainly that song.

Not every TV show features older characters that a specific audience can relate to, but there are many cases in which these characters prove age doesn’t matter, and they do it in different ways. While the main purpose of TV shows is to entertain, not all of them feature relatable characters for viewers of all ages, often forgetting either children or elderly people. In the case of the latter, TV shows more often than not fall into the cliché of mentally unstable or always grumpy characters, but there are many others that have featured some truly cool older characters that don’t care about age.
Although they don’t happen often, there have been a couple of TV shows in which their main focus is elderly characters, while in most TV shows they are often recurring characters. Elderly characters don’t need to be grumpy and boring, and many...

Robert Irvine has weighed in on the end of his long-running Food Network series Restaurant: Impossible. The series followed Irvine as he made over struggling restaurants in just two days and with a $10,000 budget. But the show no longer fit with what Food Network viewers wanted to see on TV, leading the network to cancel the series, the chef and TV host recently shared on social media.
‘Restaurant: Impossible’ canceled after 22 seasons
Restaurant: Impossible was a Food Network staple for years, originally airing from 2011 to 2016. The show then went on hiatus for three years before returning in 2019. It wrapped up its 22nd season in April 2023. Those episodes proved to be the last for the show. In May, Irvine responded to a fan question about the program’s future with some disappointing news.
“@FoodNetwork hasn’t told me anything yet,” he tweeted. “So I assume it’s done.”
