Debunking fun and exciting rumors is a dirty job sometimes, but someone has to do it. It stands to reason that a movie like "The Batman: Part II" would attract plenty of attention and interest, given the accolades that rolled in immediately following star Robert Pattinson's highly-anticipated introduction as the grungiest and most emo version of Bruce Wayne/Batman we've seen on the big screen yet. Director Matt Reeves didn't just helm another successful reboot for the most popular DC superhero while putting his own unique spin on it, but he did so by assembling a cast full of our greatest actors around. With stars like Zoë Kravitz, Colin Farrell, Jeffrey Wright, John Turturro, Andy Serkis, and even Paul Dano surrounding Pattinson, it's no surprise that fans would look forward to what other talent might be coming on board for the sequel.

Most of the plans for the Dceu movie series were scrapped, and the actors were let go. But there was one franchise that survived outside the Dceu umbrella: Matt Reeves’ Batman Universe. This project, separate from the Dceu, has several films in the works.
After ‘The Batman’ hit theaters, talks about ‘The Batman – Part II’ began. In December 2021, Robert Pattinson and Matt Reeves brainstormed ideas for future Batman films, considering introducing Robin and featuring villains like the Court of Owls. Then, in April 2022, Warner Bros. announced the next Batman film with Matt Reeves directing and Robert Pattinson returning as the lead.
After a period of silence, it was announced that the movie, originally set for release in October 2025, has been pushed back by a year, now aiming for an October 2, 2026 release. The reasons for the delay remain unclear, but it’s speculated that the strike may have played a part,...

Since his introduction in Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back, Lando Calrissian has been something of a mainstay in the Star Wars franchise. After his betrayal on Cloud City, Lando quickly redeemed himself by abandoning his people to save Han Solo from the clutches of Boba Fett. Fans were drawn to the complicated morality of the character and, of course, the unending charm of Billy Dee Williams.
Despite being a significant part of the second half of the original trilogy, Lando has somewhat fallen to the wayside of fans' attention since then. His triumphant return in The Rise of Skywalker put him back in the spotlight for a moment, but canon Lando content is few and far between. Still, there remains a lot of Lando lore that even the most well-versed fans might not be aware of.

Star Wars fans haven’t seen Lando Calrissian – that is, the Billy Dee Williams version – on the big screen in five years. But will we ever again? With so many Star Wars projects on the horizon, it’s possible that Lando could turn up in some corner of the galaxy…But would Williams ever don the cape again? Sure – provided you show him the dough.
As Billy Dee Williams told Radio Times on any potential return to the character, “Pay me a lot of money and I’ll sell my soul.” As portrayed by Williams, Lando Calrissian first appeared in 1980’s The Empire Strikes Back, a former friend of Han Solo’s and one-time owner of the Millennium Falcon, the lore of which would be explored later in the Star Wars saga. Williams would return as Lando for 1983’s Return of the Jedi but wouldn’t reprise the character again – in the flesh,...

Star Wars and Star Trek are two extremely popular American science fiction franchises set in space. Yet the two could not have been more different. Star Wars is known for its epic space battles, Jedi knights, and the force, while Star Trek focuses on exploring new worlds, the art of diplomacy, and scientific discovery with a humanitarian agenda. Both franchises have a massive fan base and have influenced popular culture significantly.
Star Trek has been more inclusive than Star Wars
Yet it seems Star Trek is miles apart from its contender when it comes to diversity, inclusivity, and equality. And the Star Wars actor, Amandla Stenberg’s latest diversity comment about the universe certainly feels like a massive slap in the face for any and every Star Trek fan.

However, I am the type of writer that is not interested in an emotional cliffhanger. I want you to feel like you've had a particular type of catharsis, and an emotional experience in watching those eight episodes because I like rewarding the audience with that." Billy Dee Williams claims ownership of the Lando Calrissian character, and he is willing to reprise the role for a large paycheck. Williams advised Donald Glover to be charming in his portrayal of the younger Lando in Solo: A Star Wars Story. Memories of Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford were cherished by Williams during his time in the Star Wars franchise.
“There’s only one Lando Calrissian.” Those are the words of Star Wars Og actor Billy Dee Williams himself. And while Donald Glover has played a younger Lando on the big screen, and will again, Williams insists that he is the one who “created that character.” George Lucas might have something to say about that. Nevertheless, Williams also revealed what it would take for him to reprise the role once more, while speaking with the Radio Times magazine. Williams said during his interview (per the Radio Times):

Whenever Jamie Foxx steps up to a microphone, one can expect to be entertained.
And that’s precisely what the Oscar and Grammy-winning superstar plans to do when he hits the road to discuss the circumstances around his sudden hospitalization nearly a year ago.
On Sunday afternoon, Foxx offered attendees of the African American Film Critics Association’s (Aafca) Special Achievement Awards luncheon a sneak peek at the tone of that material — a mix of heartfelt reflection with some top-notch zingers — while accepting Aafca’s Producers Award alongside his Foxxhole Productions partner Datari Turner.
2023 was a big year for the company thanks to the back-to-back successes of Netflix’s “They Cloned Tyrone” and Amazon’s “The Burial.” But while Foxxhole’s movies were shooting to the top of the streaming charts, Foxx was fighting for his life after suffering a medical emergency — the nature of which has not been disclosed.

Many iconic Batman villains were considered for Tim Burton's Batman sequels, like Two-Face and Riddler, showcasing Burton's imaginative vision. Stars like Billy Dee Williams and Robert De Niro would have been stand-out contenders for major roles in Burton's Batman universe, with perfect casting potentials. Had Tim Burton continued his Batman series, actors such as Tim Robbins and Anthony Hopkins could have brought new depths to classic villains.
The two Batman movies made by Tim Burton remain a well-loved piece of the character's history, but had he made any more movies about the hero, he would have needed to cast other major villains. Even decades after their release, Tim Burton’s superhero movies still rank highly in Batman's movie history, as Burton’s unique style and his approach to both the hero and the wider superhero genre made for two exciting adaptations. However, Burton’s run of Batman movies ended after just two films,...

Hamill praises The Empire Strikes Back as a groundbreaking journey with unexpected defeats and a deep, cerebral narrative. The darker and complex tone of The Empire Strikes Back contrasts with the celebratory nature of the original Star Wars film. Luke Skywalker's confrontation with Darth Vader in the sequel trilogy explores themes of destiny and the struggle between light and dark.
With his iconic portrayal of Luke Skywalker, the centerpiece character within the Star Wars franchise, Mark Hamill, who was 25 when the first Star Wars film was released in 1977, has achieved virtually unmatched pop culture status and is uniquely qualified to pass judgment on the entire franchise. Indeed, Hamill has been very candid regarding his disapproval of the Star Wars sequel trilogy films. Billy Dee Williams, renowned for his role in The Empire Strikes Back, has opened up about a flirtatious encounter he allegedly had with Marlon Brando in his upcoming memoir titled What Have We Here?
The memoir sheds light on a party that Williams attended at Brando’s residence, accompanied by his friend James Baldwin. Williams recounts a conversation that took place between him and Brando in the library, where he sensed Brando’s romantic interest.
Williams clarified, “I prefer women.”
According to Williams, the conversation with Brando eventually shifted towards leftist politics, which provided a deeper understanding of Brando’s talents as an actor. Williams acknowledges that this experience was not the first time he has received romantic attention, and explained that he has been hit on throughout his life, regardless of the individual’s gender or sexual orientation.

He was a trailblazer in Hollywood and broke the colour barrier in Star Wars. But Black History Month or not, there is one role that Billy Dee Williams has no intention of playing: racial justice warrior.

The best movies showcase the abilities of filmmakers to explore a range of emotions and feelings. The best of these provide uplifting and inspirational moments that can change the tone of the story for the better. Whether in feel-good comedies or touching high fantasy movies, audiences love moments that take them by surprise in how positive and motivational they can be.
The power to move and inspire the viewer is something many filmmakers and actors strive for, though some pull it off better than others. This can be achieved through powerful speeches, catchy musical numbers, and great displays of friendship, some of which end up defining their movie. Audiences love and often seek out uplifting and emotional stories, and many are worth a look.

Emmy winner Donald Glover opened up about his decision to return to the Star Wars universe for Lucasfilm’s upcoming Lando movie.
Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, Glover admitted that it wasn’t an easy decision to sign on to lead his own Star Wars movie, which he is co-writing with brother Stephen Glover. However, being able to make his kids happy and having creative control were some of the main reasons that ultimately sold the project to him. "I said yes because I like the characters and my kids love Star Wars," Glover revealed. "And at this point, I just know when something’s going to be good, because you’re really fighting the industry when you [put your imprint on a franchise of that magnitude]. You'd have to be the world's biggest grump to grouse over Billy Dee Williams returning to the role of Lando Calrissian for "Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker" 36 years after the character's last appearance in the series. First off, it's Billy Dee Williams. The man defined 1970s suave as Louis McKay opposite Diana Ross' Billie Holiday in "Lady Sings the Blues," and was denied a bevy of further star turns for infuriatingly obvious corporate/cultural reasons. Williams didn't disappear from the movies, but he should've been topping marquees for at least a couple of decades.

One of the best things about the old Star Wars Expanded Universe was that it afforded writers a chance to delve deeply into the various supporting players who would pop in and out of the original trilogy with nary an explanation for who they were or what their deal even was. One might call this the Boba Fett Syndrome. Take Lando Calrissian's (Billy Dee Williams) cyborg pal Lobot, who joined the smuggler in going legit after Lando became the Baron Administrator of Cloud City. He makes but a few wordless appearances in "The Empire Strikes Back" only to vamoose, never to be seen or mentioned again.
These days, Lobot has a wholly fleshed-out and consistent canonical backstory thanks to books like the "Lando" and "War of the Bounty Hunters" comics series. However, before Disney assumed control of the franchise, you just had to piece together the character's history as best...

The 1989 Batman film's Joker twist, revealing he killed Bruce Wayne's parents, was so good that no future Batman movie will likely attempt to mirror it. The idea that Joker unknowingly created his own arch-nemesis received high praise and elevates both Joker and Batman. The shocking twist in 1989's Batman worsk well, but repeating it would be a bit less exciting now that it's already been seen on-screen.
There's plenty to love about 1989's Batman starring Michael Keaton as the titular Dark Knight, especially its major Joker twist, which will never be beaten. Played by Jack Nicholson, who provided the first truly dark on-screen portrayal of the Clown Prince of Crime, the script features compelling deviations from Joker's origins in DC Comics. Lando's betrayal in The Empire Strikes Back has haunted Billy Dee Williams for over 40 years. Billy Dee Williams is unsure if the upcoming Star Wars movie will address Lando's daughter plot point. Lucasfilm is uncertain about whether the storyline of Lando's daughter holds any merit based on the studio's indecisiveness about committing to the character. The inclusion of Lando's daughter in the Lando movie could further solidify his character's development beyond the sequel trilogy.
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker teased the possibility of Lando Calrissian having a daughter, with actor Billy Dee Williams recently commenting on the unfinished plot point. While many hoped the Lando Star Wars movie would address this point, the 2022 novel Shadow of the Sith offered some insight into Lando's lost daughter. The upcoming Star Wars movie could still address this character, however, given that The Rise of Skywalker's ending certainly set up a continuation of that relationship.
