Workday is getting ready to go back on tour.
The human-resources and finance software company is ready to launch another leg of the ad campaign it launched in 2023’s Super Bowl Lvii, in which popular musicians set the record straight on whether high-performing corporate types ought to be called “rock stars.” In this go-round, two new ads will be seen during The Masters between April 8 and April 14 and in five key overseas markets: Australia, Canada, France, Germany, and the United Kingdom.
“We gained a ton of momentum” from the initial campaign that featured, among others, Ozzy Osbourne and Joan Jett, says Emma Chalwin, Workday’s chief marketing officer, during an interview. The company saw a 24% increase in audience consideration of Workday a a brand that could be trusted and a 50% increase in leads, among other notable spikes in metrics, Chalwin says. “It was kind of a no brainer to do a version two.

Maren Morris Announces 2024 Tour
In recent years, Marren Morris has stepped away from making country music, which was what first put her on the map. These days, she is taking a Taylor Swift approach to her career, branching out into a more Pop/Edm sound. One recent example is her collaboration with Diplo on the track 42.
The 2024 RSVP Redux Tour will include dates across North America to commemorate the fifth anniversary of Morris’s album, Girl. This is also an attempt to make things right after Morris had to cancel her original 2020 RSVP tour due to the global pandemic.

Ozzy Osbourne, Steve Stevens, and Billy Morrison team up on the new song “Crack Cocaine” from the latter’s upcoming album, The Morrision Project. The single is out now, along with a music video starring Paris Jackson.
Morrison — longtime rhythm guitarist in Billy Idol’s band and former bassist for The Cult — previously premiered the video for the album’s lead single, “Drowning,” right here at Heavy Consequence. His guest-filled LP also features contributions from Idol, Corey Taylor, Al Jourgensen, John 5, Darryl “Dmc” McDaniels, and Linda Perry, among others.
Morrison and fellow Billy Idol guitarist Stevens trade licks on “Crack Cocaine” as Ozzy delivers his haunting vocals on lines like, “Loving you is driving me insane/ I put you down and pick you up again … like crack cocaine.”
“The music was a direct result of sitting in a room with Steve, both with de-tuned guitars, and writing what we...

It’s easy to draw a lot of conclusions from the title of Ozzy Osbourne’s new single with friend Billy Morrison, “Crack Cocaine,” without listening to it. But the singer says it’s more nuanced than that. “The song’s not about crack cocaine,” the Prince of Darkness tells Rolling Stone on a call from his L.A. home. “It’s about being in love with a chick. But it’s kind of what you might think Ozzy Osbourne would do. It’s, like, the two loves in my life: drugs and women.

Prime Video’s “Ricky Stanicky,” the latest comedy from director Peter Farrelly, is filled with outrageous moments revolving around John Cena as Rod, a down-on-his-luck performer hired by a group of friends to pose as their nonexistent pal. The undeniable highlights, however, are the moments in which we see the Atlantic City lounge act for which Rod dresses as iconic performers, from Peter Frampton and Britney Spears to Billy Idol and Boy George. The musical numbers walk a fine line, presenting Cena with costumes that immediately summon up associations with their sources while remaining just a bit off in order to show that Rod is not exactly one of Atlantic City’s top acts.
Cena credits the costume and hair and makeup departments with creating a wide variety of hilarious looks — and doing it on a ridiculously compressed schedule. “Not only did they transform me to look like Dee Snider,...

John Cena certainly isn't the first wrestler to become a movie star. Hulk Hogan, Jesse Ventura, and Andre the Giant brought their muscles to the big screen decades ago. The late '90s and early 2000s saw Bill Goldberg and Dwayne Johnson enter the fray, with the latter becoming one of the biggest stars in Hollywood, and he's still going strong. But it wouldn't be until the likes of Dave Bautista and John Cena that we'd get a pair of wrestlers who truly stepped into the world of acting without relying mostly on their muscular presence to do the heavy lifting on the big screen for them, both literally and figuratively.
Dave Bautista has proven to be a reliable supporting star in the superhero blockbuster franchise "Guardians of the Galaxy," but he's also delivered more haunting turns in the likes of "Blade Runner 2049," "Dune," and M. Night Shyamalan's "Knock at the Cabin.

Everything you need to know about the new movie Ricky Stanicky is on the poster with its stark message plastered right across it: Warning! An R-rated Comedy. Oh, and the fact that it is directed and co-written by Peter Farrelly also tells you a lot. This is undeniably a return to the kinds of outrageous, raunchy, anything-goes style of comedy that made the Farrelly brand a household name with films like Dumb and Dumber, Shallow Hal, Kingpin, Stuck On You and the “Citizen Kane” of the genre, There’s Something About Mary. More recently Farrelly, who also managed to put heart in even the wildest of situations, took his career in a different direction with his wonderful and emotional Oscar-winning Green Book, as well as the terrific true story The Greatest Beer Run Ever which starred Zac Efron. The latter is now reunited with the filmmaker and the results are laugh-out-loud hilarious in Ricky Stanicky,...

After showing his serious side with Green Book, the most derided Best Picture Oscar winner since Crash, then taking a critical drubbing with the Zac Efron vehicle The Greatest Beer Run Ever, Peter Farrelly returns to the kind of unapologetically silly comedy he and his brother Bobby parlayed into box office gold in the ‘90s. At least in theory. Efron gets stuck with another slipshod script in Ricky Stanicky, a sad demonstration that what was once considered outrageous, transgressive and anarchic now just seems crass, tired and witless.
Streaming on Prime from March 7, the movie might tap into the nostalgia of audiences raised on the Farrelly brand of goofy raunch, gross-out laughs, slapstick, escalating chaos and sticky sentiment. The virtual extinction of the midbudget R-rated studio comedies that thrived in the ‘90s might also help, as the success of Anyone But You recently showed.

Peter Farrelly’s Ricky Stanicky concerns a trio of best friends who create an imaginary person to blame for their misdeeds. As the years go by, Dean (Zac Efron), Jt (Andrew Santino), and Wes (Jermaine Fowler) continue using “Ricky” as an excuse any time they want to skip, say, a family gathering or sneak out on a boys’ weekend. In such moments, they simply tell their significant others that Ricky really needs them right now.
That’s a solid enough setup for a film, a kind of coming-of-middle-age comedy in the vein of Jeff Tomsic’s Tag, where the characters’ commitment to a childhood tradition ends up jeopardizing their adult lives in the process. But where the antics of Tag’s characters effectively captured the stupid joy of acting like your younger self while hanging out with your oldest friends, Ricky Stanicky is stupid in a much less joyful way.

The Black Keys are ready for Valentine’s Day (or, more accurately, the Day After Valentine’s Day) with their cover of William Bell’s “I Forgot to Be Your Lover.” The two-and-a-half–minute apology recreates the song faithfully (and “faithful” goes a long way, as the Keys’ lovers will remind them), evoking the soulful regret Bell originally sang for recognizing he had become an inattentive, self-absorbed oaf.
The song finds Dan Auerbach plucking doleful chords and crooning through orchestral strings words like “Oh, I forgot to be your lover/And I’m sorry,...

Already one of France’s most beloved and bankable actors (“The Stronghold”), Gilles Lellouche is about to graduate as a big-shot filmmaker five years after delivering his sophomore outing, “Sink or Swim,” a B.O. hit which lured more than four million moviegoers (over $35 million) in theaters.
His next movie, “Beating Hearts” (“L’amour Ouf”), budgeted in the €30 million range, is epic in many ways. And not just because of its breadth and running time exceeding three hours. A crime romance loosely based on Neville Thompson’s 1997 novel “Jackie Loves Johnser Ok,” the movie is an emotional rollercoaster spanning over 15 years in the lives of star-crossed lovers. It took Lellouche over a decade to write (alongside Audrey Diwan and Ahmed Hamidi) and four months to shoot with a cast mixing rising and famous actors, a pulsating soundtrack of cult 1980s and 1990s songs, topnotch key crew and dream-like musical interludes created by (La) Horde.

Kiss recently played their final concert ever, but singer-bassist Gene Simmons is not ready to quit performing quite yet.
Simmons has booked a date with his solo project, Gene Simmons Band, at the Brazil edition of the Summer Breeze festival on April 26th in São Paulo. It’s the first post-kiss activity from any of the remaining band members, and the announcement comes just over a month after Kiss retired from performing in human, non-avatar form after two concerts at Madison Square Garden.
Simmons’ solo band last played in 2018 and typically runs through a setlist comprised of Simmons-penned Kiss material and deep cuts. The band’s current lineup is rounded out by guitarists Brent Woods and Zach Throne (Corey Taylor) and drummer Brian Tichy.
For Simmons, the solo shows have offered a more intimate setting — and one where he can dig deep into Kiss’ songbook.

Marc Charles Williams, better known as Mars Williams, the front-and-center saxophonist of ’80s New Wave bands The Waitresses and The Psychedelic Furs, died Nov. 20 of the rare and aggressive ampullary cancer in a Chicago hospice facility. He was 68.

David Fincher films are often described as cold. This seems frankly unfair, at least in most cases. Fincher’s films can take on a clinical and even deceptively disinterested perspective, but this coolness belies the passion that is always bubbling beneath the surface. Right down to the most meticulous of acting choices, and minute of set design details captured in a moving frame, Fincher’s movies uniformly radiate an obsessive, nigh maniacal, fervor for the art of storytelling. And it’s hot to the touch.
As arguably the greatest success story of the filmmaking class who came up through music videos during the glory days of MTV and networks that actually played videos in the 1980s and ‘90s, Fincher worked with seemingly everyone in that era of popular music: Billy Idol, Aerosmith, Michael Jackson, and, most prominently, Madonna. His precise and razor-sharp composition choices made him a sought-after commercial director,...

Back in 1998, Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler charmed the world with their film "The Wedding Singer." Set back in 1985, Barrymore played Julia, a catering waitress who is engaged to a complete jerk named Glenn (Matthew Glave). She meets wedding singer Robbie (Sandler) at the reception hall where they both work, and it's the very definition of a meet-cute. However, Robbie is also engaged to a jerk named Linda (Angela Featherstone), who doesn't appreciate his low-paying job. Of course, Julia and Robbie end up together after he serenades her (with rock star Billy Idol's help) on the flight to her wedding in Las Vegas. Look, this would be a pretty awful situation in the real world, but in a film, it's adorable.
Since then, Barrymore and Sandler have re-teamed for two other romantic comedies: "50 First Dates" in 2004 and "Blended" in 2014. The two actors have been friends for years, as well as co-stars,...

Guns N’ Roses played the penultimate show of their 2023 tour at L.A.’s Hollywood Bowl on Thursday night, and they used the occasion to debut “The General.” “This could be very interesting,” Rose told the crowd. “If there’s ever a better place to fall on your face, I think this fuckin’ counts.” Check out a fan-shot video.
“The General” is one of many Chinese Democracy-era songs fans learned about long before the album came out. Former Skid Row vocalist Sebastian Bach raved about it in a series of interviews.

Claudio Simonetti’s Goblin — founding keyboardist Claudio Simonetti’s modern manifestation of prolific Italian prog-rock composers Goblin — hits the road today to perform a live score to Demons followed by a set of other classic Goblin tracks across North America.
“Normally I play the same films, like Deep Red and Suspiria,” Simonetti tells me. “I have seen Demons with the actors at conventions, and I think that people love this film. It’s a cult film. I said, ‘Why don’t we try to do Demons live?’ It’s the first time. I never did it before. We have had a lot of rehearsals this summer.”
Originally, Simonetti wanted to do a Dawn of the Dead tour in celebration of the film’s 45th anniversary. “It’s one of my favorites, of course, but we are having some troubles with the producer for the rights to play the score live.

Dave Grohl honored Kent Stax, the late drummer of Grohl’s former band Scream, during Foo Fighters’ set at Louder Than Life Festival by dedicating “Everlong” to the artist. Watch the performance below.
“I wouldn’t be here today if it weren’t for Scream, and the man whose place I took in that band, Mr. Kent Stax,” Grohl said. “One of the best punk rock drummers of all time. He passed the other day. So this one’s for Kent.”
Scream announced Stax’s passing on September 20th, just one day after the DC hardcore legends announced DC Special, their first full-length album since 1993. According to the band, Stax died after “a bout with metastatic cancer.”
“Kent is the original heartbeat of Scream,” the band shared in a statement. “Though we have had to continue on without him before, we have always known Kent is irreplaceable. He was one of a kind.

Marc Bolan has been pretty well served with documentaries over the years, to the point that most fans have heard numerous anecdotes about his fabled life many times over. Ethan Silverman’s Angelheaded Hipster at least brings something new to the party by framing the story around the making of a tribute album (released a couple of years back), allowing the film to focus on Bolan’s songwriting rather than the more iconoclastic, flashy or tabloidy aspects of his life and, indeed, death.
The beats of the Bolan story, after all, are pretty well known: the working class Jewish kid dragged up in post-war London, who becomes a proto-mod at 13, spends the mid sixties, alongside David Bowie, doing everything possible to become a popstar, drifting into Tokienesque hippiedom in the psychedelic era before donning glitter on his cheeks and a feather bower to kickstart the age of glam rock in...

Listen up, Buffy the Vampire Slayer fans! Many of the original stars of your favorite television series about kicking vampire ass and taking names are returning for Slayers: A Buffyverse Story, an original audio event set 20 years after the series finale of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. James Marsters is reprising his role as the bleach blond, Billy Idol-like villain-turned-hearthrob Spike, with Charisma Carpenter, Anthony Head, Juliet Landau, Emma Caulfield, Amber Benson, James Charles Leary, and Danny Strong, as well as newcomer Laya DeLeon Hayes.
Entertainment Weekly exclusively revealed on Wednesday that Slayers “begins as Spike has gone deep undercover in Los Angeles, convincing the forces of darkness that he’s back to his evil ways. But when his cover is compromised by 16-year-old Indira Nunnally (Hayes), Spike finds himself on baby-slayer-sitting duty once more. Most early episodes of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" kick off the same way — a new evil rolls into town, and by the end of the week, the slayer turns it to dust. Some villains last a whole season and become the Big Bad, while others meet their ends more quickly. But one antagonist was so well-liked that he stayed on the show well past his original expiration date.
When Spike arrived in Sunnydale, he became an instant fan favorite. The bottle-blond Billy Idol look-alike was only supposed to hang around for a few episodes, but he was so beloved that the powers that be had no choice but to keep him on the show — albeit begrudgingly. So how was Spike supposed to be killed off, and why did everyone behind the scenes want him booted out of Sunnydale so soon?

Viewers of Claim to Fame Season 2 watched with mouths agape as the cast struggled to unveil Chris’s celebrity relative. If his likeness to his father, Donny Osmond, wasn’t clear enough, the many clues about him being a 1970s teen icon from Utah should have made it clear that, at the very least, the mystery person wasn’t British musician Elton John or Billy Idol. Chris tells TV Insider he couldn’t believe the theories either, and they taught him a lot about his family’s fame. “It’s very apparent to me, now that I’ve been on this show and [have seen[ what people are saying on social media, that the Osmonds, they were very prevalent in the seventies, and then they kind of split off and did their own thing,” Chris explains. “My dad did his own thing. My Aunt Marie [Osmond] did her own thing, and the brothers did. And I’m just realizing the ...

He made that show so interesting because no one could guess which celebrity he was related to,” the beloved singer wrote. “I’m proud of my son.” ABC/John Fleenor He then signed off the post in comical fashion, writing, “Signed, Nicholas Cage. As Aerosmith get ready to embark on a farewell tour, it’s no secret that guitarist Joe Perry and singer Steven Tyler have had their share of discord over the years. Such was the case around 2009, when Perry was seeking out a potential replacement for the band’s iconic vocalist.
In a new interview with The Dave Rickards Podcast, singer Chris Daughtry revealed that he was one of the candidates that Perry approached to take over for Tyler, who at the time entered rehab for painkillers and then emerged to become a judge on American Idol.
Frustrated with the lack of Aerosmith activity, Perry sought out possible replacements for Tyler. Over the years, it has been reported that Perry may have reached out to such singers as Sammy Hagar, Chris Cornell, Paul Rodgers, and Billy Idol.

George Harrison wrote songs for Tommy James and the Shondells after the success of “Mony Mony.” Tommy James rejected the songs for one reason. “Mony Mony” inspired a hit cover by Billy Idol.
Tommy James and the Shondells gave us some of the best classic rock songs to come out of the 1960s. In addition, they could have recorded a George Harrison song. Tommy James himself explained why this never happened.
George Harrison wrote songs similar to Tommy James & the Shondells’ ‘Mony Mony’
According to a 2009 article from Songfacts, there was a rumor The Beatles wrote a song for Tommy James and the Shondells that the latter band rejected. James set the record straight. He recalled that the Fab Four had just started Apple Records and were looking to work with other artists. Notably, Tommy James and the Shondells’ “Mony Mony” had just become a massive hit in the United Kingdom.

It's been 20 years since "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" concluded and no character went on a more transformative journey than Spike (James Marsters). Blond, British, and rarely without his black leather duster or a clever insult, Spike was half Billy Idol, half Nancy Spungen, and all vampire. Introduced in season 2, he wound up stealing the show, going from Buffy's enemy to ally of convenience to lover. Spike's development hadn't been intended from the outset; he was introduced as a villain and meant to die quickly after as one. Yet, fans loved him so much that keeping him around became a necessity.
Marsters spoke at length about his "Buffy" experience to Radio Times. He admits that the show's writers "never knew what to do with" his character, because Spike's sexy swagger undermined the story's themes:
