On July 25, Tad Cummins, the 51-year-old Tennessee man accused of kidnapping his 15-year-old student for 38 days and taking her across the country, will go on trial in federal court.
Cummins is currently behind bars in Nashville, charged with kidnapping and sex crimes in the alleged abduction of Elizabeth Thomas, then a freshman at Culleoka Unit School in Maury County. Meanwhile, Elizabeth’s father says the family is still coming to terms with the “horrific experience” he allegedly put them and their loved one through.
“It’s a highly emotional issue,” Anthony Thomas tells People. “ is going to be very difficult for everybody.

Elizabeth Thomas, the Tennessee teen allegedly abducted by her former teacher before being recovered weeks later in Northern California, turns 16 years old today, People confirms.

Elizabeth Thomas — who authorities allege was kidnapped by her 50-year-old high school teacher last month — is only at the beginning of her recovery after being reunited with her family in Tennessee on Friday.
But as her relatives tell People, she has the help of “some of the best in the country” and, more importantly, she is surrounded by love.
“And she needs love over anything else. Love is what’s going to heal her,” says Elizabeth’s older sister Kat Bozeman, one of her nine siblings. “We’re going to show her we love her unconditionally.”

Elizabeth Thomas‘ father believes Tad Cummins is unequivocally a kidnapper — despite a claim by the 50-year-old former teacher’s lawyer that he didn’t force or coerce the teenage girl to flee with him from Tennessee more than a month ago.

In the months leading up to the disappearance of Elizabeth Thomas, the 15-year-old was allegedly “groomed” by the man authorities believe abducted her: her 50-year-old teacher, Tad Cummins.
But nobody saw any signs.

Now, as the search for Thomas continues since she went missing March 13, alleged details about her and Cummins continue to emerge. Cummins was allegedly caught kissing Thomas in January at the Culleoka Unit School, where he was a teacher and she was a student.

With how rapidly David Guetta was becoming the butt of every joke in the world of Edm, he had to do something to re-establish his credibility. This past weekend, he did just that, by delivering an “Influences” Essential Mix for BBC Radio 1 that’s chock full of the ’80s house and techno that inspired him to become a DJ in the first place.
We’ve briefly mentioned Guetta’s illustrious musical history recently, and it looks like the proper house bug has bit him again as the mix features some amazing classics. DJ Sneak and Laurent Garnier grace the many seminal names on the track list, all of whom contribute to the retro wonkiness of the mix as a whole. If Guetta feels it necessary to go to these kinds of measures to appeal to an increasingly discerning world of music fans, we’re not complaining.

On Tuesday, Feb. 25, PBS' "Frontline" digs into "Secrets of the Vatican." Director Antony Thomas offers a preview to Zap2it.
Zap2it: Per the investigation for the documentary, what appear to be the top reasons Benedict XVI chose to resign the papacy?
Antony Thomas: I think Pope Benedict was speaking absolutely truthfully in his own statement, when he was talking about his age and his physical weakness. I think that's genuine. But I do think that VatiLeaks, and everything that happened in 2012, had a terrible impact on him. The year 2012 was a devastating annus horribilis for him.
Zap2it: Was the election of Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio as much of a surprise as it seemed to non-Vaticanistas?
Thomas: There are some wonderful statements from people who were actually standing in the square that night--they had never heard of him and were all Googling to find out who he was!

That ear-piercing scream of glee you heard yesterday probably came from the region of the SciFi Mafia headquarters. Yes indeed, The CW has announced the pickup of the pilot for… wait for it… Arrow, the tv version of the Green Arrow comics, as well as the pilot for Beauty and the Beast.
We told you about the possibility of a Green Arrow pilot just last week, and now it has come to pass. According to Deadline, Arrow is to be a modern retelling of the DC Comics hero. It’s written by Andrew Kreisberg (Warehouse 13) and Marc Guggenheim based on a story by Greg Berlanti and Guggenheim. Kreisberg, Guggenheim and Berlanti are all credited as writers/executive producers on the pilot. David Nutter is expected to direct.
The other pilot, Beauty and the Beast, is another one about which we gave you a head’s up, this time back in September.

Jamming and power cuts fail to prevent documentary going viral

It is available on YouTube so can be seen by anyone with access to the internet.
