- Joe Talbott is an award-winning writer, producer and director of film, television and, most recently, the interactive website cavemanscrib.com, where users become guests at a swank penthouse party hosted by the GEICO cavemen. Talbott's breakthrough feature comedy, Eat Me! (2000) was featured at the Cannes Film Festival as part of filmfestivals.com screenings and is distributed by 3DD Entertainment. Some of Talbott's other producing and directing awards include three CINE Golden Eagles, five Telly awards, and the International Television Association Award of Excellence. Other recent directing credits include the award-winning Special Mike & Honey Girl (2001) and The Pitch (1999).
Talbott has been intimately involved in the Washington, D.C. independent film community and is a frequent lecturer on independent film at area universities. Talbott is a graduate of Salisbury State University, and has studied in graduate film programs at the New York University Tisch School of the Arts and the Rockport Workshops. - Talbott grew up near the tobacco farms of Upper Marlboro, Maryland where his family ran the town blacksmith shop for generations. His brother and father are both working farriers in the horse racing industry.
- As a teenager, Talbott moved near the oystering and crabbing waters of St. Michaels, Maryland, where he was a part time waterman and oyster shucker.
