Zack Snyder recently revealed the details of the scrapped Wonder Woman 1854 movie for the Dceu franchise.
Back when the director was heavily involved in the Dceu, he had plans to do a Wonder Woman prequel movie that would take Diana Prince way back to the past before the events of the first film.
However, the project never saw the light of day and they opted to move forward in time as they ended up doing a sequel that is set in 1984, which received polarizing reception from fans and critics.

The glamorous (and handsomely paid) actors and actresses who bring our favorite films and TV shows to life often captivate us, but let us not forget that the real heroes are the artistic wizards behind the camera: the directors. They are in charge of choosing the ideal cast and setting the overall direction of the production, which includes what you see on screen.
Christopher Nolan, the genius behind Inception and Interstellar, and James Cameron, the maestro of Terminator to Titanic who maintained the excitement for Avatar 2 in 2022, more than ten years after the first film’s release, are two auteurs who established their careers through writing and directing in their own iconic styles.

As the co-ceo of DC Studios, James Gunn has laid a roadmap of how his new Dcu will be and what characters are to be included in it. While he has announced a plethora of projects that will be a part of his new Dcu, he and Peter Safran are the only ones who know how multiple films and characters tie in and the ramifications it will have in the larger Dcu.

Lynda Carter, who became a television icon as the star of the live-action “Wonder Woman” series from 1975 to 1979, delighted comic book fans when she popped up at the end of Patty Jenkins’ “Wonder Woman 1984” as Asteria, a legendary Amazonian warrior previously thought to be dead. The tease led many to believe a third “Wonder Woman” movie would unite Carter and Gal Gadot on the big screen, but the sequel was announced as dead in August 2023.
In a new interview with Yahoo Entertainment, Carter heavily suggested that she would’ve been back as Asteria had Jenkins and Gadot’s “Wonder Woman 3” taken flight at Warner Bros. She described Jenkins’ plans for the sequel as “really interesting, wonderful and about something important. Not just your typical thing.”

At one point, Warner Bros.’ “Wonder Woman” was arguably the most successful and beloved of the DC properties, and the studio was going to move forward with franchise director Patty Jenkins’ “Wonder Woman 3” and lead actress Gal Gadot. Of course, all that changed when James Gunn and Peter Safran took over DC Studios and made a hard creative reset of the DC Universe instead.

Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman made her debut in the Dcu in 2016’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and made a great impression on audiences. They loved Gadot’s charm and ease with which she portrayed the character. Her solo film in 2017 further proved that she was not a fluke and was born to play the character.

However, audiences did not enjoy 2020’s Wonder Woman 1984, and it seriously affected the reputation of the character. With James Gunn taking over the brand, the character was excluded from his plans for his new Dcu. Gadot’s co-star from Wonder Woman 1984 is lamenting the decision and questions the new Dcu for not recognizing Wonder Woman’s immense potential.

Gal Gadot might have replaced Lynda Carter as the iconic superhero Wonder Woman, but Carter will forever be remembered for the role. Known best for the role as well as her advocacy for many crucial causes, the actress and singer returned to the land of DC in Wonder Woman 2.

Needless to say, fans were elated to have her, even though it was Gadot who donned the lasso of truth. Slated to appear in a third part as well, the threequel has been long dead. And while there has been no news of the character in James Gunn’s version of DC, Carter made some bold claims about Diana Prince which James Gunn should address soon to avoid any controversy.

Lynda Carter didn’t have the Golden Lasso of Truth surrounding her. But what she said about a possible Wonder Woman 3 makes sense.
Carter spoke to Yahoo! Entertainment and said that she thinks the only way a Wonder Woman 3 will ever get made is if there’s a fan demand and outcry.
“I don’t think they want to do it unless there’s enough pressure from fans,” said Carter. “I just don’t think they have the mind to do it. And I don’t understand that, because it seems to me that Wonder Woman is different from other characters. She’s not just a superhero. Her whole thing is about peaceful solutions. She’s not aggressive to be aggressive. It’s a different story. It’s about inner strength, outer strength. I don’t know why they tabled it, because it’s a great franchise.”

Batman Beyond successfully builds upon Batman: The Animated Series while standing on its own in the DC Animated Universe. The show moves into the future without losing its creative edge.
A still from Batman Beyond
But fans of the acclaimed animated series might be surprised to learn that the iconic villain, Mr. Freeze, almost had a very different depiction than the one showed in the series.
While the episode featuring Freeze, Heart of Ice, went on to win an Emmy for Outstanding Writing, the initial plan for the character in Batman Beyond could have deviated from that well-established legacy.
Batman Beyond‘s Mr. Freeze Arc Could Have Taken a Wrong Turn
According to the initial script of Batman Beyond, Terry McGinnis (the new Batman), would have stumbled upon a gruesome scene while grabbing a drink from the Batcave refrigerator: the severed head of Mr. Freeze.

Vintage hour-long shows from the pre-peak television era get an bad rap for being rigorously formulaic and self-contained borefests, primarily because they tended to run 20+ episodes a season and thus aren't terribly bingeable in an era when too many people believe bingeability is a vital virtue. For example, "The A-Team" lasted five seasons, but each individual season lacked an arc that progressed from episode to episode. It was just five fugitive Vietnam vets evading law enforcement and, once a week, helping poor, victimized people fight back against gangsters, corrupt local government, and other small-time forces of evil.
On one hand, I agree that shows like "The A-Team," "Riptide," and "Hunter" are nowadays nostalgia pieces that don't have a lot to offer narratively or thematically. They were designed to be easily digestible for hard working folks craving an escape from their nine-to-five drudgery. They did the trick, and, outside of reboots or film adaptations,...

Wonder Woman took cinemas by storm when it was released in 2017. Despite being a period piece set during World War 2, it managed to bring in droves of fans to witness Diana Prince’s origin tale. So, with the same creative team returning for a sequel and the ever-popular decade of the 80s being its setting, this could outdo the first in every way. But with expectations comes disappointment as the film released during Covid caused quite a stir for its creative partners and had some rather questionable CGI. So today on DC Revisited, we’re getting into it all as we dive into Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman 1984.
After the first film made $822 Million worldwide, a sequel was announced just one month after release. A few months later, it was announced that writer/director Patty Jenkins and her co-writer Geoff Johns would return and serve the same roles for this new venture.

In our previous article, we spotlighted male actors over 70 who continue to captivate young audiences. This time around, we’re shifting focus to their female counterparts who are 70 years and above.
Several actresses who have crossed the septuagenarian threshold have garnered exceptional demand within the first five months of 2023, a feat achieved by less than 0.04% of talent in the American market. Topping this list is the most popular TV Wonder Woman and Miss World USA 1972, Lynda Carter. The surge in popularity of the “Wonder Woman” franchise’s recent renditions has also played a crucial role in renewing interest in her.
Following Carter there’s Morgan Fairchild, renowned for her portrayal of poised, determined women in soap operas like “Dallas” (1978); Cassandra Peterson, best recognized as Elvira from sketch comedies and horror films; and Jane Fonda, who’s also known for her activism. These three actresses all boasted demand levels over 38 times the average during this period.

There are very few comic-book movies that have gone through the development hell that The Flash has gone through over the past decade, but it seems as though fans will finally get to see their favorite scarlet speedster get his own standalone film. With the DC adaptation set to premiere in June, as well as two trailers being dropped with massive implications about what the movie will hold for DC’s future, it’s safe to say that fans are already counting down the minutes until they can race to the theaters to see it.
All of that being said, there is a huge question mark looming over the superhero movie that unfortunately won’t be answered for seemingly years to come. James Gunn, the new co-ceo of DC Studios and the man at the helm of the new Dcu, stated back in January that The Flash will be “resetting...

Back in 2011, more than three decades after Lynda Carter signed off as the character and some five years before she’d make her big-screen debut in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Wonder Woman starred in her own modern-day TV show…well, sort of.
Writer-producer David E. Kelley and Warner Bros. Television managed to sell the idea of a Wonder Woman TV series to NBC, which ordered a pilot. Adrianne Palicki – best known for Friday Night Lights and, more recently, The Orville and Agents of Shield – was cast as Diana, while the supporting players included Elizabeth Hurley, Cary Elwes, and a then largely-unknown Pedro Pascal.
The pilot was shot in early 2011, and although the series was anticipated to be part of NBC’s lineup that fall, the network passed in May of that year.

Twitter has entered a whole new era.
After months of threats, on Thursday, the Elon Musk finally made good on his promise to remove the blue verification checkmarks from users who don’t pay for Twitter Blue.
Since taking over the company last year, the owner and CEO has allowed users to get a coveted blue checkmark by simply paying for the $8-per-month subscription service.
The blue checkmark began its life on Twitter as a method of verifying the identity of notable figures like celebrities and politicians, protecting them from impersonation. It eventually expanded to include journalists and others.
Last month, Twitter announced that starting April 1, blue checkmarks would be removed from accounts not subscribed to Twitter Blue. The date was then pushed back to April 20.

In the 1950s, the motion picture industry wanted nothing to do with the young medium of television — but Jack Warner soon realized that was a losing battle.
Warner Bros. was among the first to dive into TV production, when ABC approached the studio about acquiring a theatrical film package. But instead of just running films on TV, the result was “Warner Bros. Presents,” an umbrella series that debuted in 1955 and comprised programs based on existing intellectual property including “Casablanca” and “Cheyenne.”
The success of “Cheyenne” ushered the era of the Western to television, as Warner Bros. brought a movie studio approach to the small screen. “There’s a spirit of independence and innovation that’s so much a part of the legacy of the studio,” says Warner Bros. TV chairman Channing Dungey. Other early Warner Bros. TV hits included “Maverick” and crime dramas such as “Hawaiian Eye” and “77 Sunset Strip.

Stella Stevens, the screen siren of the 1960s who brought sweet sexiness to such films as The Nutty Professor, Too Late Blues and The Ballad of Cable Hogue, has died. She was 84.
Stevens died Friday in Los Angeles, her son, actor-producer-director Andrew Stevens, told The Hollywood Reporter. “She had been in hospice for quite some time with Stage 7 Alzheimer’s,” he said.
Shining brightest in light comedies, the blond, blue-eyed actress appeared as a shy beauty contestant from Montana in Vincente Minnelli’s The Courtship of Eddie’s Father (1963), portrayed a headstrong nun in Where Angels Go, Trouble Follows! (1968) opposite Rosalind Russell and frolicked with the fun-loving Dean Martin in two films: the Matt Helm spy spoof The Silencers (1966) and How to Save a Marriage and Ruin Your Life (1968).
Stevens also starred opposite Elvis Presley in Girls! Girls! Girls! (1962), a movie she said she detested.

Films and television shows based on comic books are ubiquitous nowadays. In the 1970s, however, superhero fare wasn't exactly the drama mine it is now. We had the light and entertaining "Wonder Woman" TV series with Lynda Carter, and the campy and comedic "Batman" series with Adam West was in the rearview mirror. Comics were still mostly for kids, and we were years away from seeing Michael Keaton dramatically don the Batsuit. The genre wasn't taken particularly seriously.
In the mid-1970s, Universal got the rights to some of Stan Lee's Marvel comic book characters, including the Hulk. Though the resulting TV series "The Incredible Hulk" produced a two-hour pilot and had five subsequent seasons, not everyone was on board with the idea of a show about a man who gets mad and turns into a hulking green dude. Series writer, producer, and creator Kenneth Johnson wasn't interested at all at first,...

James Gunn, co-ceo of DC Studios, finally made the announcement this week that DC has the next decade entirely mapped out with new and exciting projects that they’ll be bringing to the big and small screen. Gunn made fans incredibly happy with the announcement of 10 new movies and tv shows all set to air within the next 8-10 years, as well as confirmed that audiences won’t have to wait years to see any of this new content since the next 4 movies (all set to air this year) will still be connected to the bigger DC Universe that Gunn is attempting to create.
That said, Gunn also confirmed that any other projects that the studio makes will be set outside the connected Dcu and will take place under a new label known as DC Elseworlds. This isn’t to be confused with the long-running DC Elseworlds comic-book run which...

NBA star LeBron James was among the first to react to newly-released footage of the deadly arrest of Tyre Nichols on Friday (27 January).
The unarmed 29-year-old died three days after being beaten by five Memphis Police officers who, yesterday, were all charged with second-degree murder.
In the footage, Nichols is pursued, punched and pepper-sprayed. The officers are later seen bragging about punching him.
You can follow live updates following the video’s release here.
President Joe Biden called the video “horrific” and said it was a “painful reminder” of the fear Black and Brown Americans face regularly, while calling for peaceful demonstrations.
James first responded “Too Factual!!!” to an MSNBC journalist’s tweet about how “we’ve failed to fully understand race and it’s construction as a *systemic tool.* The entire system of policing sees the Black body as a problem. No matter who pulls the trigger.”

As reported by ABC, Barbara Walters, arguably the greatest celebrity interviewer in journalistic history and undisputed queen of television news, has passed away. The legendary figure was 93.
Walters was a trailblazer in the world of TV news, shattering glass ceilings for women everywhere, and serving as the highest-paid television journalist at one point. Walters got her start on "The Today Show" as a writer and segment producer of "women's interest stories," and became so popular, she became the co-host of the program, the first woman to ever hold such a prestigious position. In 1976, Walters would continue to make history, becoming the first female co-anchor of a network evening news program, when she joined Harry Reasoner on the "ABC Evening News."

Two performers defined horror in 2022: Jenna Ortega and Mia Goth. No others quite compare to the sheer emotional brawn both actors brought to the screen. While they have each been working for years in various TV and film roles, the stars aligned over the last 12 months to catapult them into the stratosphere. From Goth’s stunning turn in Pearl to Ortega’s career-making performance as Wednesday Addams, the breadth of work on display is unmatched. Their magnetism is unequivocal. They have a talent of outlining full-bodied characters with bright definition and intention. Together, they make a tour de force of talent that leaps beyond the horror world.

Director Patty Jenkins grabbed her version of the lasso of truth Tuesday, and offered a different version of what went wrong on ‘Wonder Woman 3,’ and other projects that have stalled. It had been previously reported that she walked away from making the film when the studio offered notes.
The A-list director took to Twitter, a service she rarely uses, writing that she is not one to usually talk about private career matters, but was perturbed by inaccuracies in the press. What followed was a full page of what she called “the facts.”
She began by addressing “Rogue Squadron,” the Star Wars project that was announced two years ago with a slick teaser promotion. She explained that she left that film when it became clear that working on it would delay “Wonder Woman 3.” A new deal was put in place to allow her to come back to it, and,...

Filmmaker Patty Jenkins has broken her silence over the news that she parted ways with Warner Bros. on a sequel to 2020’s ‘Wonder Woman 1984’.
“I never walked away,” Jenkins shared in a post on Twitter, reports ‘Variety’.
“I was open to considering anything asked of me. It was my understanding there was nothing I could do to move anything forward at this time. DC is obviously buried in changes they are having to make, so I understand these decisions are difficult right now.”
Jenkins’ statement comes almost a week after news first broke that Warner Bros. leadership had passed on her treatment for a third “Wonder Woman” movie, which set off a torrent of speculation about what the news might indicate about the future of DC.
It also sparked headlines suggesting that Jenkins had rebuffed efforts to reshape the film to fit into the nascent plans for DC Studios...

When news broke last week that Patty Jenkins' version of "Wonder Woman 3" would not be moving forward at DC Studios, a whirlwind of speculation began to brew over the cause and what this meant for the perpetually-in-flux franchise. When anonymous sources at The Wrap claimed that Jenkins left the project after receiving pushback from Warner Bros. executives Michael De Luca and Pamela Abdy, many online took that speculation to heart. However, according to a new statement posted by the director on her Twitter account, those rumors may not have shown the full story.
"When there started being backlash about 'WW3' not happening, the attractive clickbait false story that it was me that killed it or walked away started to spread," Jenkins wrote. "This is simply not true. I never walked away."
She went on to clarify that she had been open to making any changes necessary to make "Wonder Woman 3" work.

Earlier this month, former LAPD commander Cory Palka made headlines for purportedly conspiring with CBS and its former CEO to prevent an explosive sexual assault allegation from going public. But long before the onetime head of the Hollywood Division began working behind the scenes to suppress claims against Les Moonves, he had revealing associations with the entertainment business and was the subject of multiple in-house LAPD investigations.
Palka’s complicated past was glimpsed in the settlement between New York Attorney General Letitia James’ office, CBS and Moonves that first disclosed his private-sector work on behalf of the once-powerful network head. Palka had previously served as a “security aide” to Moonves at the Grammy Awards (distributed by CBS) between 2008 and 2014, the Nov. 2 settlement showed. But Palka, the son of an aspiring actor and onetime industry grip, also moonlit in his early days as an actor,...
