It has been a lucky 13 years since Tom Hiddleston first played Loki, the God of Mischief in the film “Thor.” He returned to the role recently for season two of the TV series “Loki.” This Disney+ show provided a beautiful end (we’ll see) to the character’s epic arc.
The sophomore outing of the series seee Loki trying to save the universe with the help of Sylvie (Sophia Di Martino), Mobius (Owen Wilson), and Ouroboros (Ke Huy Quan). Kang (Jonathan Majors) is once again at the center of the trouble. The series is fantastical and is held together by the superb performance of Hiddleston. Once again, this classically trained actor brings Shakespearean authority to the role. He is also able to infuse increasing vulnerability to the former villain, making Loki one of the best characters in MCU history. Critics agree, “Loki” is the Tom Hiddleston show.

“Loki” could conjure up a Best Drama Series nomination this year and give Disney and Marvel representation at this year’s Emmys. The second season of “Loki” continues the journey of Tom Hiddleston‘s titular former villain as he attempts to save the multiverse. Loki traverses the multiverse with the help of Owen Wilson‘s Mobius, Ke Huy Quan‘s Ouroboros, Sophia Di Martino‘s Sylvie, and Wunmi Mosaku‘s Hunter B-15. They are hoping to repair the damage caused to the multiverse during the events of the first season, with Kang (Jonathan Majors) again at the center of the trouble.
Season one was greeted with rapturous applause and this sophomore outing has been met with the same response.
Bob Strauss (The Wrap) observed: “Characters with compelling issues, high existential drama, quirky comedy and world-threatening action are blended better than in any other Disney+ show to date.”

The second season of Loki successfully delivered an emotionally satisfying conclusion to the series and elevated Tom Hiddleston’s Loki to a selfless heroic character. The addition of Sophia Di Martino’s Sylvie contributed to the show’s exploration of Loki and his unexplored traits. The second season ended with Loki becoming the overseer of the various timelines at the end of time.

Loki and Sylvie’s future in the MCU is unknown at the time and the actors themselves are kept in the dark about it by the studio. However, this doesn’t stop them from expressing their hopes for the character if they return. Di Martino wants to see more of her character in the MCU including an arc with Loki’s brother Thor.

Sophia Di Martino dresses perfectly for spring while attending a PaleyFest LA panel discussion and screening of Loki held at Dolby Theatre on Saturday (April 13) in Hollywood.
The 40-year-old MCU star joined her co-star Tom Hiddleston on the red carpet at the event.
Earlier that day, they also attended an FYC Emmy screening and Q&a with Owen Wilson, where she revealed another Marvel character that she would like her character Sylvie to share the screen with.
Find out what she said inside…
“I think it would be great to see Sylvie and Thor,” she told Variety‘s Marc Malkin. “I think it would be fun to see them get wound up, especially if Loki is in the equation. Three siblings together? The dynamic would be interesting.”
She also shared her thoughts on the possibility of a third season of Loki.
“I have no idea, honestly,” Sylvie said about the chances.

Ask the stars of Disney+’s “Loki” if there’s going to be a third season and all will insist they don’t know.
“I have no idea, honestly,” Sophia Di Martino, who stars as Sylvie, told me Saturday morning at a “Loki” FYC Emmy screening and Q&a at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills.
That doesn’t mean Martino wants her time with Marvel to come to an end. “I’m open to more,” she said. “But honestly I think the [Season 2] finale was great and if that’s it, I’m very grateful for what we’ve had. But they don’t say anything. The veil of secrecy extends to us, too.”

Loki stars Tom Hiddleston, Owen Wilson and Sophia Di Martino joined Deadline’s Contenders TV event Saturday to discuss set design, character motivations and the potential future of the Disney+ series beyond Season 2.
As the Marvel Cinematic Universe continues to churn out box office hits, it’s hard to believe that Hiddleston’s star-making turn as the celestial trickster brother to the hammer-wielding god Thor started well over a decade ago.
“I’ve absolutely loved playing Loki; it’s been 15 years, and it is the most magnificent and emotional roller coaster for the twists and turns,” Hiddleston said. “He has so much range and so much complexity, it never feels like [I’m playing] the same thing. But I know the reason I’m standing here in front of you today is that the audience has such curiosity and passion for and a connection to him.”

Ed Ruscha, running late to class one day in 1950, accidentally stiff-armed a glass-panel door at his junior high in Oklahoma City. “My hand went right through that door, all the students looked up, and there I was just dripping with blood,” says Ruscha, sipping a macchiato while seated behind a marble-topped desk in the skylit library of his Culver City studio, a sprawling 9,000-square-foot affair that was previously a movie prop house and before that an aerospace factory for Howard Hughes.
“I had this scar on my wrist for years,” he explains, rolling up the sleeve of an indigo button-down to inspect his left forearm, a rakish smile curling over his lips at the prospect of unearthing some remnants of that lacerating memory. “It’s almost gone by now.”

Wunmi Mosaku, best known for her work in Marvel Studios’ Loki and HBO’s Lovecraft Country, has joined Michael B. Jordan in the untitled supernatural horror thriller that Ryan Coogler is directing for Warner Bros.
The buzzy project, the object of a high-profile bidding war in January, heads before cameras later this month in New Orleans and is furiously casting up. Delroy Lindo and Jack O’Connell closed deals last week.
Little is known about the project — and what is known has yet to be confirmed by either the studio or Coogler. Insiders say the feature is set in the Jim Crow-era South and possibly involves both vampires and Southern supernatural traditions. Jordan may be playing dual roles — as twin brothers.
Sources say that Mosaku may be one of the feature’s female lead and playing the wife of one of Jordan’s characters.

Since the teaser trailer for ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ dropped, we’ve known the Tva would be a big part of the movie. Fans expected to see Owen Wilson return as Mobius, but sadly, that won’t be the case. Instead, Matthew Macfadyen steps in as a mysterious character named Mr. Paradox, bridging the gap between the organization and our troubled heroes.
As for the movie’s plot, it’s still a mystery, but one thing’s for sure: it’s going to be a Multiversal mayhem. In the trailer, we catch glimpses of Deadpool interacting with the Tva, particularly with Mr. Paradox, who seems to be briefing him on what they’re all about.
Paradox presents him with an offer, promising Deadpool a chance to become a “hero among heroes.” However, this plan seems to go awry when Deadpool is shown taking out Tva agents with precision, leading to a confrontation with the Wolverine variant.

After he gets fired from his job at an Indiana sporting goods store and his wife walks out on him, Pryce hedges his bets entirely on a troubled 17-year-old golf phenom, played by Dager.
The Apple Studios production will be directed by Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris and executive produced by Propagate’s Ben Silverman, Howard T. Cavalero is best known for his breakout performance as Keefe, the lovable ex-Satanist turned fan-favorite mullet man, in Danny McBride’s cult hit HBO series. “The Righteous Gemstones” was renewed for a fourth season last July.
With “Lips Like Sugar,” Cavalero joins a buzzy ensemble which also includes Oscar nominee Juliette Lewis, Sasha Calle, Kathryn Newton and Erin Moriarty. Three and a half years ago, Sony’s Columbia Pictures announced that they were developing a reboot / reimagining of the 1997 “nature run amok” thriller Anaconda (watch it Here), with the intention of “taking what was a simple and relatively cheap programmer with a B-movie concept and event-izing it in scope and budget.” Tom Gormican is on board to write (and possibly direct) the film as his follow-up to the well-received action comedy The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, and we’ve heard that this new take on the concept of Anaconda might be taking a meta approach, with “actors playing loose fictional versions of themselves who go off to make an Anaconda movie and all hell breaks loose.” There was a rumor that Pedro Pascal and Paul Rudd had been offered roles in the film… But while we wait to see how that project is going to pan out, Sony Pictures...

After spawning three sequels and a spinoff crossover film with the Lake Placid franchise, Anaconda is plotting a return here in America, with a new movie reportedly in development.
Additionally, we’ve now learned, the ’90s classic Anaconda is getting a Chinese remake!
From directors Xiang Qui Liang and Xiang He Sheng, the upcoming Anaconda remake has unleashed a wild official trailer this week, and it’s loaded with giant snake carnage.
In the 1997 movie, a film crew is taken hostage by an insane hunter, who forces them along on his quest to capture the world’s largest – and deadliest – snake. The Chinese remake looks to feature a mostly similar storyline, centered on a massive killer known as Scarlet Naga. It also seems to feature zombies from the Qing Dynasty, which definitely weren’t in the 1990s movie.

With the 96th Oscars done and dusted, we can now reflect on lessons learned throughout the awards season. Specifically, which precursors most closely matched — and perhaps had the greatest influence on — the motion picture academy. Let’s look at the four top televised or streamed awards shows.

Nominated for seven Academy Awards, filmmaker Wes Anderson won his first Oscar this past weekend, the Best Live Action Short Film for his 33-minute short, “The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar,” starring Benedict Cumberbatch. But during the Oscar ceremony, Anderson was nowhere to be found and couldn’t accept in person.
Was the director thumbing his nose at the Academy? Not at all. As many suspected, Anderson wasn’t available as he’s about to shoot his new movie, rumored to be called, “The Phoenician Scheme.”

Wes Anderson Shares What His Oscar Acceptance Speech Would Have Been, And Why He Couldn't Deliver It
During this year's Academy Awards, at least one longstanding wrong was finally righted. Even as someone who's generally found Wes Anderson's work to be somewhat hit or miss, it's always felt like a serious oversight that the acclaimed filmmaker had yet to win a single Oscar. You're telling me the guy behind "The Royal Tenenbaums," "Moonrise Kingdom," "The Grand Budapest Hotel," and "The French Dispatch" could only muster a grand total of seven nominations over the course of 20+ years? Poppycock, I say!
Well, that ignominious streak finally ended this past Sunday. But while Anderson's long-overdue win came in the live-action short film category for "The Wonderful Life of Henry Sugar," he wasn't even in attendance to accept his award. Some viewers may have interpreted his absence as an intentional thumbing of the nose towards a voting body that hasn't exactly shown him much love over the decades, but...

With eleven feature films under Wes Anderson’s belt, we can now quickly add another. While the director’s recent batch of Roald Dahl adaptations were released as short films––so the first could compete for the Oscars––now that Anderson has indeed taken home his first Academy Award, he’s realizing his complete vision for the project.
Just after he nabbed his Oscar, Netflix announced they will release Wes Anderson’s anthology feature The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar and Three More, combining all four shorts and adding a new original song by Jarvis Cocker, this Friday on the platform. Just as another Netflix anthology release, Coens’ The Ballad of Buster Scruggs, is considered a feature, from this day henceforth let it be known The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar and Three More is Wes Anderson’s twelfth feature.

After missing the chance to accept his first Oscar in person, following his win for Best Live-Action Short for The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar, Wes Anderson has addressed the circumstances surrounding his absence and what he would’ve said in his speech.
“If I could have been there, I (along with [producer] Steven Rales) would have said ‘Thank You’ to: the family of Roald Dahl; the team at Netflix; Benedict [Cumberbatch] and Ralph [Fiennes] and Ben Kingsley and Dev [Patel] … and more [of the cast and crew],” Anderson stated. “And also: If I had not met Owen Wilson in a corridor at the University of Texas between classes when I was 18 years old, I would certainly not be receiving this award tonight — but unfortunately Steven and I are in Germany and we start shooting our new movie early tomorrow morning, so I did not actually receive the award [in person] or get a chance to say any of that.”

Wes Anderson took home his first-ever Academy Award on Sunday night (March 10th), winning the Oscar for Best Live Action Short Film with The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar, one of four Roald Dahl adaptations he made for Netflix in 2023. Now, the streaming giant has announced a repackaging of the four short films into an anthology entitled The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar and Three More, due out March 15th.
In addition to The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar, Anderson and Netflix’s The Swan, The Rat Catcher, and Poison round out the titular “three more.” Each short pulls from a star-studded pool of actors, with Benedict Cumberbatch, Ben Kingsley, Ralph Fiennes, Dev Patel, and more appearing and reappearing throughout the collection. What’s more, the anthology will feature an original song by frequent collaborator Jarvis Cocker, as Anderson revealed in an official statement (via TheWrap).

In one of the biggest ironies of the 2024 Oscars, Wes Anderson — whose fans had been waiting for him to win an Oscar since The Royal Tenenbaums‘ nomination in 2001 — won his first-ever Academy Award but was unable to accept it in person. While the auteur didn’t get a chance to give his acceptance speech onstage, Netflix shared his statement on his win.
“If I could have been there, I (along with [producer] Steven Rales) would have said ‘Thank You’ to: the family of Roald Dahl; the team at Netflix; Benedict [Cumberbatch] and Ralph [Fiennes] and Ben Kingsley and Dev [Patel] … and more [of the cast and crew],” the filmmaker wrote.
Anderson’s adaptation of Roald Dahl’s The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar received the Academy Award for best live-action short film. Benedict Cumberbatch stars as the titular character, who develops clairvoyant abilities, allowing him to cheat at gambling.
Anderson’s statement continued, “And also: If I had not...

More than 20 years after his first nomination, Wes Anderson is an Oscar winner. The beloved filmmaker triumphed at the 96th Academy Awards this weekend, winning Best Live-Action Short Film for The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar, one of four Roald Dahl adaptations he directed for Netflix.
Anderson, who’s prepping his next film in Germany, couldn’t attend the ceremony but provided the following statement: “If I could have been there, I (along with Steven Rales) would have said ‘Thank you’ to: the family of Roald Dahl [Luke and Liccy]; the team at Netflix [Ted, Scott, Racheline, Lisa/Catherine, many others]; Benedict and Ralph and Ben Kingsley and Dev and Richard and Bob and Adam and Jeremy and John and Jim and Rich and Jim and Polly and more. Also I would have said: If I had not met Owen Wilson in a corridor at the University of Texas between classes when...

Wes Anderson was not in Los Angeles on Sunday night to accept his Oscar for Best Live-Action Short Film. But it turned out he had a pretty good excuse. The filmmaker was in Germany, prepping his next film, “The Phoenician Scheme,” which is set to begin shooting (checks pocket watch quirkily) today!
The writer-director-aesthete did send a message via Netflix, the producers of the award-winning “The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar,” one of four shorts based on Roald Dahl stories currently streaming on the platform.
