This article contains spoilers for Smallville.
There’s no doubt that Lois (Erica Durance) and Clark (Tom Welling) were the right endgame for Smallville. And not just because Lois and Clark almost always inevitably end up together. Their years of loathing turning to respect and then love makes for some great TV, and Durance and Welling’s chemistry is incredible. However, even though Smallville mostly hit the mark with Clark’s love-life by the end of the series, his first love, Lana Lang (Kristin Kreuk), deserved so much better than the arc she was given.
By the time Clark and Lana get together in the series, Lana already knows that something is up with Clark. He’s somehow always there to save her when she’s in danger or just generally involved with all of the weird stuff going on in town. His farm boy charms also aren’t really...

Last year was a standout year for animation, and 2024 is already shaping up to be another banger. While a majority of the high-profile animation releases are due out later this summer, the first quarter of 2024 has already been promising. We at /Film are constantly singing the praises of animation as a medium, and doing our best to course-correct the ignorant idea that animation is only for children. Admittedly, this list is going to look mighty small for the time being, but it will be updated throughout the year as more films become available. As we noted last year, animation is one of the only mediums where global cinema is given an equal footing to studio-produced films in America, with the artistic visuals serving as a universal language that we can all enjoy. Meaning, this list is not limited to Hollywood animation releases ... and that's a good thing. As for now,...

Chloe Grace Moretz would be an ideal candidate for Abigail due to her experience in playing rebellious and action-packed characters. Chris Evans could play Alex in a Stardew Valley live-action movie, given his history of portraying sport-focused characters. Kristen Schaal's ability to play quirky and humorous characters makes her a great choice for portraying Caroline in a live-action film.
Hit video game Stardew Valley has generated plenty of speculation recently that it'll receive a live-action movie, leaving many to ponder over an appropriate cast. Created by ConcernedApe, Stardew Valley is an addictive farming simulation game that allows players to build up their own farm, fight in the mines, and befriend or even marry villagers. These days Marvel has been doing a pretty poor job of making films, before 2019 the franchise was a powerhouse, constantly delivering cinematic entertainment, with smash-hit box office records; all along with narrating a captivating superhero tale. However, the franchise has faced a steady decline in its popularity because after Avengers: Endgame, only a few films have marked a lasting impact in the minds of its viewers.
Batman and Catwoman in Batman: The Long Halloween, Part One
Nevertheless, the franchise should learn from their rivals, DC as Butch Lukic, the producer of Batman: The Long Halloween shares how they all agreed to come up with the idea of adapting the storyline of The Long Halloween. The film was a massive success, featuring Jensen Ackles lending as the voice behind Bruce Wayne/ Batman in the fan-favorite animated film.

Michael Rosenbaum, who played Lex Luthor in Smallville, is opening up about the idea he has for a sequel series in an animated form.
In a new interview, Rosenbaum revealed he and Tom Welling were developing an animated series with the original cast and creators of the show that originated in 2001 on the now-defunct WB network.
“All I could share is that it’s a great idea. We have Al [Gough] and Miles [Millar], the creators of Smallville, backing us up,” Rosenbaum said in an interview with Screen Rant. “When it’s the right time, we’d like to go and do this: pitch to Warner Bros. Film viewers only knew Tom Cruise as Reacher earlier, however, fans of the books still frown upon the casting of Cruise despite his stellar performance. Ritchson appealed to both audiences as the perfect Reacher, but fans would be surprised to know that he almost missed the opportunity if it was not for a second look at his passed-over audition tape.

The news about a potential Call of Duty film first surfaced in 2015 when Activision Blizzard launched a production studio called Activision Blizzard Studios. Many sources confirmed at the time that the motion picture production company was working on a live-action movie based on the Call of Duty video game franchise. However, the production was shut down in 2020 as the movie was not the studios’ priority.

Scooby-Doo and the Mystery Inc. are now into their fifth wild and frightful decade of adventure. Over the years, Scooby-Doo has embarked on some truly bizarre team-ups with characters from the DC Universe, creating some of the most unexpected and entertaining crossovers in animation history.
This isn’t an odd thing – as the likes of Batman: The Animated Series also used to get cameos of its characters in various shows. Similarly, the gang also used to appear in various setups in live action, whether it be the DC Universe, the Star Wars Universe, or even a crossover with real-life superstars, such as WWE athletes, and Hollywood actors.

Barely scratching the surface of their appeal, they proved their wide-ranging appeal when in 2014 they released, Scooby-Doo! WrestleMania Mystery, a movie in which the team is flung into a wild-rumpus adventure with WWE superstar John Cena.

Batman will be featured in 5 upcoming movies across live-action and animation, including new Elseworlds stories. Jensen Ackles voices Batman in the Tomorrowverse. The Batman reboot movie The Brave and the Bold will introduce Damian Wayne as Robin and feature other Bat-Family members.
Batman will soon join the new DC Universe; however, that will not be the only time fans get to see the Dark Knight in a film, as DC has five Batman movie appearances planned at the moment. While Batman might be DC's most popular hero, even him getting so many simultaneous live-action adaptations comes as a surprise. In a two-year span, live-action Batman actors Ben Affleck, Michael Keaton, George Clooney, and Robert Pattinson all appeared in theatrical films as their versions of the Dark Knight. The first three were part of The Flash, while Pattinson led The Batman.
With the Dceu over, Batman will soon be recast for James Gunn's Dcu.

Alan Ritchson's experience with DC heroes like Aquaman and his physicality from Reacher make him a strong fit for Batman. After 15 seasons, Supernatural saw the Winchester brothers travel all across the United States to save as many people and hunt as many things as they possibly could. As Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) rambled along, they passed through and became familiar with plenty of states in the Union. But as the series went on, Supernatural was less of a "road-show" and localized itself to a more central location (i.e. the Men of Letters' Bunker). This made it easier for the brothers to lie low and plan their next steps in preventing the latest Apocalypses. But early on, Supernatural lived on the road. The dingy motels, open highways, and classic rock became staples of the paranormal series that have lived on beyond the show's tonal shifts and ever-changing showrunners.

Supernatural has always been a different kind of beast. The series, which stars Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles as monster hunting brothers Sam and Dean Winchester, had an impressive 15-season run, though it wasn't an easy journey. Its entire history was riddled with controversy, fan disappointment, and a convoluted story that, unlike its female characters, just couldn’t seem to stay dead. Supernatural is known for weird episodes and its glaring shortcomings.

We all know the story. Two brothers get in their father’s old ’67 Impala and drive through countless small towns to hunt down the things that go bump in the night. Supernatural stars Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles will forever be known for their roles as Sam and Dean Winchester, and it's easy to see why. The series' impressive 15 seasons pushed the horror and fantasy genres to new heights. But it was the show's earliest years that were most impressive, particularly the first few seasons where the Winchesters tackle some of the scariest demons, monsters, and pagan gods to ever roam the back roads of America. The truth is, Supernatural was always at its best when it leaned into its horror roots, and the show was never the same without them.

Jensen Ackles' experience and skills make him a popular fan cast choice for the role of Batman in The Brave and the Bold. Ackles has the right voice, proven experience with Batman characters, and can effectively play both Bruce Wayne and Batman. With physical traits resembling Batman and a history of committing to roles, Ackles could be an ideal choice for the iconic superhero.
There has still yet to be an announcement of who will play the Dcu's Batman in The Brave and the Bold, but that hasn't stopped fans from hoping Jensen Ackles will get a shot at playing Bruce Wayne in live action. Ackles has already played Batman in several animated projects, and has a history of working with DC going back to 2004, when the actor started his ongoing role in Smallville. The Boys Season 4 is one of the most awaited releases on Prime Video. It’s expected to be the most intense part of the series yet. The last season finished in 2022. Then, in 2023, a new series called Gen V was released to connect the story until Season 4. Now, Season 4 is getting ready to answer any questions, and seems like it will be a crucial part of The Boys’ story.
It might bring big changes for Hughie and Butcher, but not necessarily good ones. In the previous season, Butcher and Hughie gained superpowers from Temp-v, Homelander became even more unstable, and Soldier Boy seemingly died. The ending hinted at what’s to come in Season 4.
Homelander is now taking care of his son Ryan, and it looks like he’s teaching him to be violent. With the story reaching even higher stakes, fans are eagerly waiting for Season 4 to hit Amazon Prime Video.

Supernatural season 16 faces a no-win scenario with Dean and Castiel due to unresolved romantic ambiguity in their final scene. The nature of Dean and Castiel's relationship in the series finale leaves room for interpretation, sparking debate among fans. Any future continuation of Supernatural would struggle to navigate the romantic undertones between Dean and Castiel post-series finale.
Supernatural season 16 remains a possibility, but any potential continuation would inevitably face a no-win scenario with Dean and Castiel. Supernatural season 15's ending may have come in 2020, but following the cancelation of prequel spinoff The Winchesters, season 16 is looking increasingly likely. Hopes of seeing Sam and Dean saddle up in the Impala again received an even bigger boost after Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki confirmed during a convention appearance that conversations about the franchise's future were happening behind the scenes.
Another huge talking point since Supernatural ended has been the nature of Dean and Castiel's relationship.

Prime’s The Boys has gained immense love and appeal from its fans, as it has shown a refreshing take on superheroes, which goes beyond themes like nobility and selflessness. The series showcases a darker side of heroism and how individuals would act if they had superpowers. With relevant themes and equally dark humor, the show is definitely a fan favorite.

Supernatural stars Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles starred as brothers Sam and Dean Winchester in the Eric Kripke-created cult show, which had and continues to boast a grand fanbase. Like their on-screen counterparts, the two share a dynamic off-screen that highlights their camaraderie and brotherhood.
Although there were a couple of bumps along the ride the pair had to navigate, Padalecki and Ackles’ friendship has birthed some of the most unforgettable banters and shenanigans.

Former Arrowverse executive producer Marc Guggenheim has walked back comments he made in a recent X post about a potential Superman Returns sequel series starring Brandon Routh.
In a new post on Substack (via ComicBook.com), Guggenheim clarified that the talks he had with Routh happened a long time ago and that Warner Bros. and DC Studios have given no indication of actually moving forward with the potential Superman project, which would feature Routh returning to the role of the Man of Steel following the events of the Arrowverse crossover, Crisis on Infinite Earths. However, as a consolation, Guggenheim did share new concept art of Routh's Superman, which was created for the Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover back in 2019.

For 15 long years, Jensen Ackles played one of the protagonists, Dean Winchester, in Eric Kripke’s fantasy drama series Supernatural. In August 2020, it was announced that Ackles and Kripke were joining forces once again in the third season of the latter’s satirical superhero series, The Boys. Ackles, who played Ben / B.C.L. Red / Soldier Boy joked in an interview that Supernatural might be the reason why his arc in The Boys was made so dark and Nsfw.

Supernatural ended its fifteen-season run in 2020, giving Sam and Dean Winchester a chance to relax from their monster-hunting days. As soon as the series finale aired, there were already talks of a possible sixteenth season that would revive the series. With the recent cancelation of the spinoff The Winchesters, it may be a little too soon to put Sam and Dean back in the game.
Supernatural officially came to an end after 15 seasons. But ever since the cult-favorite series has gone off the air, fans have been asking themselves if this really is truly the end. Supernatural has become synonymous with things coming back from the dead, so who's to say the same can't be said for the show itself. In fact, one of the show’s leads, Jensen Ackles, hinted on Michael Rosenbaum's podcast, Inside of You, that he might be willing to don Dean Winchester’s flannels again.

Everyone dies on Supernatural, or at least that's how it seems after following Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles) across fifteen seasons. Nobody is safe from a bloody end on this show, and there are very few characters who make it through Supernatural unscathed by the end. Not even Supernatural itself could escape a horrific end at the hands of the CW, who axed the series back in 2020. But with rumors that the series might return for a potential Season 16, it seems like the perfect time to revisit the worst death on the show, one that we felt long after the fact. That's right, we're talking about Alona Tal's butt-kicking hunter Jo Harvelle, who we lost in Season 5 on the way to kill the Devil.

Don't hold your breath on a new Supernatural revival series.
Following the end of Supernatural, there have been subtle teases from the show's stars that Sam and Dean Winchester may reunite for a 16th season or another spinoff. The chatter has generated enough excitement with the fan base that the CW's president of entertainment, Brad Schwartz, was asked for a status update in a new chat with TVLine. The answer he provided was unenthusiastic, revealing that no formal talks had actually taken place about the possibility of any new Supernatural shows. However, Schwartz gave credit to the show for its continued popularity, and he reminded fans that Jared Padalecki is still a big part of the network with another season of Walker on the way.

Jensen Ackles is a popular choice to play Batman in the upcoming DC Universe, as shown in a fan trailer. Ackles has previously voiced Jason Todd and played Batman in animation, showcasing his familiarity with the character. Warner Bros. has the opportunity to make up for a previous missed chance to cast Ackles as Batman in live-action, as filming schedules didn't align in the past.
A new The Brave and The Bold fan trailer pitches Jensen Ackles as the perfect Dark Knight for James Gunn's DC Universe. Following the end of the Dceu movie timeline, the new DC Universe is getting closer to happening as DC Studios get ready to start shooting Gunn's Superman: Legacy movie in March. However, another major Justice League character who is getting rebooted for the DC Universe is Bruce Wayne, a.k.a. Batman, as the Dcu still developing the hero's solo movie, The Brave and The Bold.

Supernatural's final season provided a fitting end that grounded the story and justified the outlandish events of the show. The longevity of Supernatural on The WB and The CW was a result of the dedication and talent of the cast and crew. The final season of Supernatural defended the series as a whole and showed that the stories and characters mattered to both fans and those involved in making the show.
In Supernatural Season 5, Sam and Dean Winchester stopped the Biblical Apocalypse, and the show ended with 10 seasons left to fill. Audience members who grew up with the Winchesters left the show behind and a new audience would find it. When it was time to close the book on this story, even Chuck Shurley couldn't write an ending that would satisfy everyone. Looking back on Supernatural's final season, it's a much more fitting end than viewers thought at the moment.
