I Like Football. … There I said. I feel like some great big linebacker size weight has been lifted off my chest (please hold the jokes until the end of the article). It’s not always an easy thing to admit in front of your fellow horror lovin’ dorks. “Hey, guys did you watch Eli Manning throw for 300 yards and then dodge that sack to throw the game winning touchdown?” Crickets. If you had simply offered up your opinion on the necrophile antics of A Serbian Film you might have received a verbal response and possibly entered into a night long debate about whether shock films of the present can compare to shock films of the 70’s. The simple fact that you know who Eli Manning is beyond a Toyota commercial might just force you to hand over your geek badge.
I would definitely not call the horror community judgmental, but...

"True Blood" may be over for the season, but any show that features vampires, fairies, werewolves, shape shifters and were-panthers is going to come up in conversation. It got us thinking about Halloween-themed beverages that we might bring to our costume parties. Here are some of our favorites.
True Blood: The ... ahem, life's blood of the vampires on "True Blood." We're pretty sure that it's not carbonated on the show, but if you get it in real life, it's more like a soda. Blood orange flavor, of course. You might feel a little dumb drinking it in public, but we're sure it makes a lovely punch, spiked with tons of adult beverages.
Black Death Vodka: This drink was banned by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms in 1992, which asserted that the liquor's name and label-featuring a sinister image of a grinning skull in black top hat-created "the misleading impression of bubonic plague and poison.

Those two gentlemen to the left are Rogue Brewmaster John Maier (with the face furniture) and Rogue Spirits Master Distiller John Couchot. Between them they’ve created a new series of Rogue beers – the John John Ales.
Rogue also makes a range of spirits including Dead Guy Whiskey, which is made from the same wort as Dead Guy Ale. It’s taken to the distillery where magic things happen to turn it into whiskey which is then put into oak barrels for 30 days. When those are emptied and the whiskey is bottled for further ageing, they’re refilled with Dead Guy Ale and this is left to mature for 2-3 months.
As with any beer aged in wood, the oak and the whiskey both impart their own flavours, but in this instance neither are overpowering or detract from the sweet, bready maltiness of Dead Guy. Although it’s a bock,...
