Jon Almaas is a Norwegian actor, producer and host. Jon Almaas went to the Steiner-school in Oslo, this was his primary school, secondary school and high school. After he finished he went on to getting an American bachelor's degree in international business from 1992. He started his career in on the TV program "Rik og berømt" working for TV3. He later moved onto working for the NRK (Norwegian state television) where he spent the years 1997-1999 producing three series: "Ja takk, begge deler", "Krakk" and "Helg i solnedgang". He also worked as an actor during this period. In 1999 he moved on to being the host of the popular Norwegian humor news show "Nytt på Nytt". In 2001 he was one out of two hosts for the awarding of the Spellemann Prize which is the awards handed out to Norwegian artists that have excelled positively that year. In 2020 he participated in a season of "71° nord - Norges tøffeste kjendis" that he also ended up winning.
First person ever to win the Norwegian Gullruten award (television
award) for best male host two years in a row. Both times for the show
"Nytt på nytt" in 2002 and 2003.
Jon Almaas went to the Steiner-school which is an alternative to the official Norwegian school.
