The Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg-produced World War II series Masters of the Air has something that its predecessors did not: a bona fide movie star in the lead role. Thanks to his award-winning role as the King himself in 2022’s Elvis, Austin Butler has burst onto the scene as a major acting force. And he brings that gravitas with him to portray Gale “Buck” Cleven in the nine-episode Apple TV+ series about WWII bomber pilots.
Cleven is the perfect role for the brooding Butler – a quiet, confident figure that the rest of his crew looks up to. Cleven also serves as the culmination of years of work for the actor just as much as the Elvis Presley gig did. As a teen, Butler made the Disney and Nickelodeon TV show circuit via a mix of one-off and recurring roles on Zoey 101, Hannah Montana, iCarly, Wizards of Waverly Place,...

Ashton Kutcher wears a lot of hats these days. He’s a producer, entrepreneur, husband, and father. But most know him for his acting in comedies like That 70s Show and Two and a Half Men. His latest film Your Place or Mine is currently streaming on Netflix. But recently, the popular actor took a trip down memory lane with Vanity Fair to talk about his cult classic film, Dude, Where’s My Car? Kutcher talked about one interesting scene from the film.
‘Dude, Where’s My Car?’ became a cult classic
In 2000, Kutcher starred in Dude, Where’s My Car? with Seann William Scott. They played two stoner friends who wake up after a night of partying to realize they don’t remember where they left the car owned by Kutcher’s character, Jesse. Hilarity ensues as the duo retraces their steps to find the vehicle and get into all sorts...

Your Place or Mine is a romantic comedy starring Reese Witherspoon and Ashton Kutcher. You can see it on Netflix. It is written and directed by Aline Brosh McKenna.
Two Hollywood stars in the same movie, attractive, one in his home in Manhattan, the other in her house in Los Angeles… we are approaching Valentine´s Day and we know that there are things that can be guessed at a mile away.

Early on in Aline Brosh McKenna’s romantic comedy Your Place or Mine, rebranding consultant Peter (Ashton Kutcher) hits the nail on the head about this particular genre of movie: His work is “to teach you to tell a story to other people about you that is better than the story that you tell yourself. Because the stories that we tell ourselves are very limiting.” Rom-coms contain all manner of characters stuck in narratives of their own making: A man who can’t be friends with women (When Harry Met Sally), “always a bridesmaid, never a bride” (27 Dresses), and so forth. But the problem with setting up a movie that initially posits that two former lovers would make better long-distance best friends is… if the leads are never in the same room, it’s difficult to really sell their love.

Ashton Kutcher and Reese Witherspoon’s awkward red carpet photos from the premiere of their Netflix rom-com “Your Place or Mine” have been the source of viral social media memes for over a week now — so much so that Kutcher’s wife, Mila Kunis, emailed the two actors about it. What does Kutcher have to say about it? During an appearance on the “Chicks in the Office” podcast, Kutcher said walking the red carpet with Witherspoon was more or less a losing battle for him.
“Here’s the thing: if I put my arm around her, and was like all friendly with her, I’d be having an affair with her. Like, the rumor would be that I’m having an affair with her,” Kutcher said. “If I stand next to her and put my hands in my pockets so there’s no chance that that could be the rumor,...

Netflix’s upcoming romantic comedy “Your Place or Mine” pairs Reese Witherspoon and Ashton Kutcher, two actors who dominated the genre in the early 2000s. But instead of heralding the duo’s return to the beloved genre, fans have spent much of the last week grilling Witherspoon and Kutcher for their lack of chemistry on the red carpet. Photos from the “Your Place or Mine” red carpet have gone viral on social media due to the awkward energy between the co-stars.
During a recent interview on “Today” (via Entertainment Weekly), Witherspoon revealed that chatter around her and Kutcher’s lack of red carpet chemistry became so big that she got a message from none other than Kutcher’s wife, Mila Kunis. Kutcher and Kunis have been married since 2015 and have two children together.
“She even emailed us last night,” Witherspoon said of Kunis. “She goes, ‘You guys look so awkward on the red carpet together.

Ashton Kutcher is returning to romantic comedies.
The actor hadn’t been in a rom-com since 2011 when he appeared in “New Year’s Eve” and starred opposite Natalie Portman in “No Strings Attached.” But 12 years later, Kutcher toplines the new Netflix smoocher “Your Place or Mine” with Reese Witherspoon.
“Honestly, I think I had more fun shooting this movie than I ever had,” Kutcher told me Thursday night at film’s premiere in Los Angeles. “It was genuinely a choice. I didn’t need to do it. I didn’t have to do it. It wasn’t like a career-building block. It was like, ‘I want to do this.’”
He gushed over working with Witherspoon. “I got to be in scenes across from a genuine movie star,” Kutcher said. “She’s such a movie star. It was so wonderful and fun and funny and light. There was never a dark day.

Reese Witherspoon and Ashton Kutcher play longtime friends who swap homes and wonder about their relationship in the trailer for Netflix’s rom-com Your Place or Mine.
In the film, written and directed by Aline Brosh McKenna (The Devil Wears Prada, 27 Dresses, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend), Witherspoon’s Debbie and Kutcher’s Peter met 20 years ago and slept together but have remained friends.

While at each other’s homes, Debbie and Peter hang out with each other’s friends and family, with Debbie seeming to develop a friendship with Peter’s neighbor, played by Zoe Chao.
And when Debbie starts dating a man she meets in New York, played by Jesse Williams, Peter appears to chafe at this news.

Your Place Or Mine Trailer: Reese Witherspoon And Ashton Kutcher Star In The Netflix Romantic Comedy
Got Valentine's Day plans? Then get ready to cancel them! Or, at the very least, make sure to carve out two hours of couch time to bask in the glory of Netflix's star-studded rom-com, "Your Place or Mine," a love story about two best friends who swap houses. Think "The Holiday" minus the, uh, actual holiday. Instead, it follows two people who desperately need a change of setting but, in the process, find themselves stumbling across potential love.
Reese Witherspoon and Ashton Kutcher star as longtime friends Debbie and Peter, who met 20 years prior after a memorable night in their young adult lives (*cough* a one night stand *cough*). But that's in the past now and just because they ooze chemistry in their every interaction doesn't mean that they're in love! Anyway, both of these adults already know what they want in life — and it's not each other. Probably.

When Reese Witherspoon and Ashton Kutcher announced they’d be co-starring in a Netflix rom-com, a generation of moviegoers were elated at the idea of two of the genre’s most bankable stars teaming up for the first time.
That movie is “Your Place or Mine,” and Netflix has dropped the first trailer previewing the pair’s on-screen chemistry. Witherspoon and Kutcher star as Debbie and Peter, who’ve been best friends for 20 years after a “memorable” first meeting (read: one night stand).
“Do you remember the first night we met?” Witherspoon’s Debbie asks early on in the clip, as the two reminisce over the phone. “Never stops being weird,” Kutcher’s Peter replies, and they laugh off the memory.

“Do you remember the first night we met?” Witherspoon’s Debbie asks early on in the clip, as the two reminisce over the phone. “Never stops being weird,” Kutcher’s Peter replies, and they laugh off the memory.

Romantic comedy veterans Reese Witherspoon and Ashton Kutcher team up for Your Place or Mine, written and directed by Aline Brosh McKenna. Netflix just released the first photos from the rom-com which finds longtime friends swapping homes for a week.
“I think of it as a body-swapping movie, but without the body-swapping,” explained Brosh McKenna in an interview with Netflix’s Tudum. “They each get to walk a mile in each other’s shoes. And by doing that, they learn things about each other they never would’ve found out otherwise.”
Netflix has set a February 10, 2023 premiere date for the comedy and Brosh McKenna believes it’s perfect Valentine’s Day viewing.

When most people think of foster care, they usually think about what they've seen on TV, which isn't a lot.
It's just one of those things writers don't tend to dig deep into, except for a few choice storylines that usually end up on the cutting floor.
If you're a fan of family dramas, though, there's a good chance you know about The Fosters.
The Fosters was a Freeform series that featured a family thrown into disarray when a teenage girl (Maia Mitchell) and her younger brother (Hayden Byerly) end up placed in their care.
There's also a good chance you remember its spinoff, Good Trouble, which is currently in its fifth season and features several characters from the latter living their college lives in Los Angeles.
While both shows showed you a side of the system not typically shown on broadcast, another, just three years before, was also doing that.

For audiences, television is entertainment, but for the companies behind the scenes, TV is big business. From the late '20s through the early '80s, American Broadcasting Company (ABC), National Broadcasting Company (NBC), and Columbia Broadcasting System (CBS) had no lasting competition and they ruled the television landscape. In their heyday, the big three produced loads of classics like "The Three Stooges," "The Lone Ranger," "Gunsmoke," "Howdy Doody," "The Ed Sullivan Show," and "Bonanza," just to name a few. I've never seen an entire episode of any of those shows, but I recognize their names and know, generally, what they are about, which proves they have a firm foothold in popular culture. Cementing such a place in entertainment history is something every television show hopes to do, but doing so got a lot harder in the '90s.

New Amsterdam took a bold swing with this landmark installment.
They went for a nuanced but topical hour as New Amsterdam Season 5 Episode 7 focused on the personal and professional ramifications of the overturning of Roe v. Wade.
And we got what is undoubtedly a polarizing hour, but in this case, it was meant to be that way.
The direction of this hour was strong, thanks to Shiri Appleby. One thing that stood out, in particular, was the opening scene of Max and the others as they initially found out that the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade.
We were treated to a silent montage of this news affecting the most prominent characters and how it all came together as they did in the halls of New Amsterdam as they watched the news, still in stunned belief before Karen barked out that they should get back to work.

Spoiler Alert: Do not read if you have not yet watched “How’s It Going to Be?,” the Sept. 5 series finale of “Roswell, New Mexico.”
In May, The CW pulled the plug on seven shows, including “Roswell, New Mexico,” which was airing its fourth season. On Monday night, the drama aired its final episode — one that showrunner Chris Hollier and the writers planned on being the Season 4 finale, not the final episode ever.
During the last episode, Max (Nathan Parsons) headed off to save the world through portal — one that would allow him to return and live happily ever after with Liz (Jeanine Mason), who he still intended to eventually marry.
“There was one change afterwards where the console melted, and Liz would feel like, ‘Oh no, I just got engaged and maybe he’s trapped there forever.’ It was the only thing we removed,” he tells Variety, noting that...

Nathan Dean as Max Evans and Jeanine Mason as Liz Ortecho in ‘Roswell, New Mexico’ season 4 episode 13
The CW’s Roswell, New Mexico season four episode 13 serves as both the season and series finale. Picking up seconds after the end of episode 12, “How It’s Going to Be“ begins with Clyde easily stopping Isobel and Max’s attack. Rosa (Amber Midthunder) concentrates on tuning in on Clyde’s frequency and manages to free herself from his restraint.
Rosa surprises Clyde by smashing him over the head with a board, which gives Max (Nathan Dean) time to prepare to use the blue flame. Unfortunately, Clyde also uses the flame and knocks everyone over before kidnapping Rosa and escaping in a car.
The #PodSquad discuss their next move and Bonnie suggests they need to destroy the portal before Clyde can use it. Michael (Michael Vlamis) thinks they should hold off on that drastic move and Max agrees.

Roswell, New Mexico star Michael Trevino is stepping behind the camera for what he’s calling “the Avengers assembling to come together for one common goal” episode of the series. In August 8’s “Wild Wild West,” it’s up to everyone to save Liz (Jeanine Mason) after Shivani (Rehka Sharma) exposed her to the alien-power mist. As a result, Liz ends up in a mindscape set in the wild, wild west, and it soon becomes not just about saving her, but Max (Nathan Dean) as well. Trevino previews the episode (including Shiri Appleby’s appearance), talks about directing, and teases how it will all end for Kyle and his relationship with Isobel (Lily Cowles). What made this episode the right one for your TV directing debut? You did a short [Two Roads] previously. Michael Trevino: I did. I did a short film after Season 3. I’ve been shadowing all the directors on our series since the pilot,...

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Roswell, New Mexico Season 4 Episode 5 “You Get What You Give.”] It was only a matter of time before something happened between Isobel (Lily Cowles) and Kyle (Michael Trevino), given their chemistry. And in the latest episode of Roswell, New Mexico, something did. Following a painful end to her relationship with Anatsa (Sibongile Mlambo), Isobel followed Kyle to Mexico as everyone continues to investigate the new aliens. There, they not only found a lead (they’re on track to find Shiri Appleby’s Allie!) but also share a dance that leads to a kiss! Cowles breaks down that big moment and teases what’s ahead, including how the series will end for Isobel. Let’s talk about that kiss. There are moments leading up to it in previous episodes, yes, but just in this episode — there’s his reaction to her hand on his shoulder, then the dance. How does Isobel feel about Kyle? ...

Two classics — Eobard Thawne and Lian Yu — are back, baby, in TVLine’s exclusive sneak peek from this Wednesday’s episode of The Flash (airing 8/7c on The CW).
In Season 8’s Episode 17 of 20, which was directed by cast member Danielle Panabaker, The Flash (played by Grant Gustin) goes “off the grid” to look for answers about a new meta in town. Specifically, he heads to good ol’ Lian Yu of Arrow/Oliver Queen fame, where Argus has a holding cell for the worst of the worst — a powered-down Eobard Thawne (played again by series alum Tom Cavanagh) now included.

Smallville gained another hero on Tuesday’s Superman & Lois, which found the Man of Steel in need of an extra hand… or two.
That hero was none other than Natalie Irons, who finally got to test out her super suit during the team’s latest run-in with Ally. Of course, it took a bit of convincing for John Henry to “allow” his daughter to join the fight. To say that he wasn’t thrilled upon discovering Natalie’s suit would be an understatement. It was kind of like when King Triton stumbled upon Ariel’s hidden trove of human treasures.

Roswell, New Mexico‘s fourth season wasn’t originally supposed to be its last, but based on the events of Monday’s premiere, you’d have thought that was the plan all along.
Not only are everyone’s favorite small-town hotties standing at life-altering crossroads — including Max and Liz (almost!) getting engaged — but a trio of new extraterrestrial baddies introduced in the premiere are scheming to enact “the alighting,” an event the show has referenced with considerable dread for the past few seasons. “This year, we wanted to define what the alighting actually is,” executive producer Christopher Hollier tells TVLine.

“Roswell, New Mexico” returns for its final season premiere on Monday night, and it’s bringing an old friend back into the fold — at least temporarily. Max Evans’ old partner and friend Jenna Cameron is back, and she needs his help solving what very well may be a crime committed by aliens.
Of course, this time around, Jenna Cameron (Riley Voelkel) is actually Agent Cameron, having taken a job with the FBI. But to be fair, she’s not the only one with a new title. Max (Nathan Dean Parsons) has one too; he’s currently the sheriff of Roswell (even if only in the interim). Their banter is as strong as ever, as Jenna needles Max by informing him that she only took the job “so I could outrank you, Evans.”
Jokes aside, there is a reason that Max was the one called in to help solve a bank...

Have you caught your breath yet?
Talk about one hell of a cliffhanger! Roswell, New Mexico Season 3 Episode 13 left viewers with a plethora of questions and Shiri Appleby! That's right, the Og Liz was on-screen, and the reveal gave me goosebumps!

There was a tremendous amount of information dumped on the audience throughout those two hours, with Roswell, New Mexico Season 3 Episode 12 being the softer of the two, with a greater focus on the quieter moments between characters.
Hour two was heavier on the action but still gave us some beautiful scenes as well.
When asked about the importance of including those moments into a science-fiction show, Hollier remarked, "It's very important. We always break from a place of character, right? And we were also looking too,...

In keeping with an ongoing theme of addressing many issues and disparities of the healthcare system, the hour focused on maternal health.
Each of the doctors had a maternal/pregnancy case on New Amsterdam Season 3 Episode 8, and the installment produced some powerful content yet again.
It also was directed by none other than Shiri Appleby.
How often can we discuss how Iggy continues to shine this season in all aspects of his life? It's getting redundant at this point, yes?
Part of devoting time to maternal health meant showcasing the sexism, racism, and ageism that coincides with it.
In the case of Ydalis, we saw a young woman suffering from cryptic pregnancy. She refused to believe that she was not only pregnant but in labor, and most of the doctors didn't know what to do with that.
The frustrating part about the Obgyn's involvement was how she dismissed Ydalis without a second thought.
