It represents a much needed first victory, a slight ease of pressure, and further indication that if we stop booing him, Gabriel Obertan might actually be a good player. His goal was a rare high point in an otherwise dull match, and while Newcastle should have had a few more, the team is still some distance away from being worthy of remaining in the Premier League.
