There’s really only one story this week. “Music’s biggest night,” as they term the Grammy Awards, is under a cloud this year, as CEO/President Deborah Dugan was placed on administrative leave earlier this week by the Recording Academy as an investigation is underway into complaints about her tenure.
Considering Dugan has only been on duty since August, the action was shocking. The first female head of the Recording Academy, her enemies are already dirtying her up in the press, dropping hints of cruelty to an underling, inability to work with the Board of Directors.
Her attorney has already indicated Dugan will fight back when she gets the opportunity, so expect either a quiet settlement or a truly ugly battle that will rend and tear the institution.

It was a week filled with wheeling and dealing, as new pacts to build, merge, spin-off and create were announced by real-world and digital entities. There was also a pause to remember Robert Freeman, who photographed some of the early and influential Beatles albums.

When Lillo Brancato Jr. was chosen to play Robert De Niro‘s son in 1993’s A Bronx Tale, he was considered one of Hollywood’s hottest young actors. With all the offers that entailed.
At the time, De Niro took the then-17-year-old under his wing and gave him some fatherly advice. “Early on in my career I spoke to Bob and Chazz about how profound changes would occur in my life,” Brancato, now 41, tells People. “They said once this movie goes out, you will have people around you who will expose you to dangerous things and you have to be careful.

I know it’s hard to fathom, but believe G.W. when he tells you that the tastiest piece of red meat he’s eaten all year was at a titty bar on West 28th Street in Manhattan. For weeks, good buddy Noel Ashman has been trying to cajole G.W. into having dinner at the legendary “Mammary Mecca” (as Richard Johnson prefers to call it) more commonly known as Scores. “Trust me,” he kept insisting, “the food is pretty incredible.” One recent Wednesday night, G.W. finally took him up on the offer. As we settled into a banquette in the cozy restaurant of this notorious strip club—rock music blaring and topless trollops shimmying on dance poles—we were treated to the most delicious, flawlessly prepared, humungous T-bone steak ever! Yes, a memo to majordomo food critic Sam Sifton: G.W. can declare unequivocally that he has found New York’s best steak.

Guns N' Roses frontman Axl Rose and fashion designer Tommy Hilfiger got into a furious row at actress Rosario Dawson's birthday party on Thursday night. The pair were at The Plumm nightclub in New York City, where Rose played a surprise acoustic show, when they got into a heated argument which ended with Hilfiger allegedly hitting Rose. The designer was promptly escorted out of the club by security guards, according to PageSix.com. Rose told his side of the story yesterday morning during an interview with Kroq radio station in Los Angeles, explaining that the fight started when he politely asked the designer to move his date's drink so it wouldn't get spilled. Hilfiger allegedly went ballistic, "smacking" the singer in the arm and cursing at him. According to Plumm owner Noel Ashman, Hilfiger took two swings at Rose. He says, "Axl was a gentleman and had the good sense not to retaliate, as he would have done some serious damage to Hilfiger." Dawson's mother Isabelle told Tmz.com the designer politely told Rose to watch out for his date's drink, which caused Hilfiger to begin screaming and swearing at him. She goes on to say that Hilfiger stood up and started punching Rose, getting in a few good shots before his own security guards escorted him out. The singing star filled out a police report and later dedicated the song "You're Crazy" to "My good friend Tommy Hilfiger." Birthday girl Dawson was unaffected by the scuffle and thrilled with the band's surprise performance saying, "They've never played all acoustic, this is history in the making, how much does this f**king man rock?!"...
