Pairing two of the most iconic figures on the Spanish-language business scene, actress-producer Kate del Castillo, star of Telemundo smash hit “La Reina del Sur,” is teaming with former Netflix VP Erik Barmack to produce and star in a womanhunt thriller.
Provisionally entitled “Cold, Dead Hands,” a title that may well change, the movie is set up at Del Castillo’s Cholawood Productions, Barmack’s Wild Sheep Content, both in L.A., and Park City-based Top Dead Center Films, headed by Gary and Julie Auerbach, creators of the film. Gary Auerbach (“Hampton High Revealed”) directs.
The film went into production on Jan. 4, shooting in Utah. It opens with Del Castillo’s character waking up in a log cabin in deep forest, having been drugged and abducted. A message on a stereo tells her to press “play.” “I’m a hunter,” a voice says, explaining she’s been placed there because she’s a “worthy prey.

TV's 2014 Upfront presentations are currently under way, and while the horror news has been light so far, today it was AMC's turn, and they have several projects in development that caught our eye.
First, the thus far untitled "The Walking Dead" companion series has landed Dave Erickson ("Sons of Anarchy") as an executive producer and co-writer along with Robert Kirkman.
As Kirkman said previously, "After ten years of writing the comic book series... I couldn’t be more thrilled about getting the chance to create a new corner of 'The Walking Dead' universe. The opportunity to make a show that isn’t tethered by the events of the comic book, and is truly a blank page, has set my creativity racing."
Now, as for the rest, along with "The After," which is heading to Amazon, Chris Carter has "Area 51" in the works at AMC. Written by Carter and...

Producers: GoGo Luckey, Gary Auerbach and Julie Auerbach.
Discovery Channel's "The Exorcist Files" makes huge assumptions: the devil is real and that we are in the middle of an epic war that he is waging against us. It is a battle that is being fought man against man and soul versus soul. There are only a handful of men in the world to help. They are the lay exorcists and this television series documents their true stories.
If that intro is to be believed, then humanity is screwed.
Executive producers Gary and Julie Auerbach have an interesting product, but it can be a turn off because of the heavy emphasis on religion. The Auerbachs in this show are not related to Loyd Auerbach, an author, lecturer, and frequent consultant to television networks about all things supernatural.
As for whether or not these hauntings are real, that's subject to what the viewer wants to believe.

Warner Bros. had high hopes for original web series when it launched its own network back in 2008. TheWB.com came out with guns blazing, part of a re-launch of the defunct former TV channel TheWB, signing big productions from the likes of McG (Sorority Forever) and Gary Auerbach (Rich Girl, Poor Girl). Now there are just 10 web original series still available on TheWB.com, and all of them are mid-2010 releases or earlier. The summer 2010 release of a flurry of series like Downer’s Grove and Exposed was thought to be the return to original web series on the network, but turned out to be its final bow. This week’s email newsletter (below) from the network plugged full episodes of aging (and off-air) TV series like The O.C., One Tree Hill and Friends and movie trailers for the The Hangover Part II: Related News:‘Ghostfacers’ Pairs McG and...

MTV has confirmed to THR that a reality show about an aspiring raunchy girl band favored by the boss, Viacom chairman Sumner Redstone, remains in development despite the embarrassing controversy of last week -- and objections by some at the network.
Gary Auerbach's production company Go Go Luckey, credited with MTV's "Laguna Beach," episodes of "Ghost Lab" for Discovery and "Hot Girls in Scary Places" for E!, is taping the bisexual young women in the Electric Barbarellas on their quest for fame and fortune.
Redstone has been at the center of a media firestorm over his taped phone message demanding that reporter Peter Lauria of the Daily Beast reveal the source of his story about the octogenarian billionaire's attempts to force reluctant MTV executives to create a show for the band.
In the message, Redstone offered to reward the reporter for disclosing the source, adding that Viacom management wouldn't "kill" the responsible party.
