India’s biggest celebration of music, The Global Indian Music Academy (GiMA) has unveiled its most illustrious nominee list for the year. Only the most outstanding in the industry have the honor of receiving a GiMAnomination, with only the finest getting a chance to walk awaywith the most coveted music award in India- the GiMA award.
For the film category, Bajirao Mastani bagged the maximum nominations by receiving a nod in nine categories. Following closely with seven nominations is the super hit movie Tamasha and Roy with six.

The BBC Asian Network today announces that it is to bring listeners a choice selection of exclusive content from some of world’s biggest Asian stars.

The 7th Seattle South-Asian Film Festival that will take place from October 7-9, 2011 will screen Deepti Naval’s Do Paise Ki Dhoop, Chaar Aane Ki Baarish (Two Paise for Sunshine, Four Annas for Rain) as the opening film. New Delhi, Jan 18 (Ians) It was an emotional moment for legendary singer Kundan Lal Saigal’s grandson Rabinder Chopra as he witnessed the re-release of the national-award winning biography on his grand father in a paperback edition Monday.
‘It is a great honour to be his grand son and be part of the family tree of a legend. Though I could not meet my ‘nanaji’ (maternal grand father), I feel proud to be associated with him,’ said Rabinder Chopra, son of Saigal’s late daughter Bina Chopra. The re-release of the singer’s biography also marked his 63rd death anniversary.
Titled ‘Kundan’, the book has been.

Mumbai, Dec 6 (Ians) Legendary actress Bina Rai, who won the Filmfare award for her performance in “Ghunghat” (1960), died of cardiac arrest here Sunday.
She is survived by two sons - Prem Kishan and Kailash Nath. She was married to actor Prem Nath, who was well-known filmmaker Raj Kapoor’s brother-in-law.
Bina, who went on hunger strike to convince her parents to allow her to act in movies, entered Bollywood with director Kishore Sahu’s film “Kali Ghata” in 1951. Later she featured in movies like “Vallah Kya Baat Hai” (1962), “Bandi” (1957), “Changez Khan” (1957), “Durgesh Nandini” (1956), “Marine Drive” (1955) and “Aurat”.
She is survived by two sons - Prem Kishan and Kailash Nath. She was married to actor Prem Nath, who was well-known filmmaker Raj Kapoor’s brother-in-law.
