[on being cast in The Bible in the Beginning... (1966)] The reason I went to Rome is that I had never been there before and I was getting paid to go. I didn't think anything would really come of it. I didn't think things like that happened any more.
I did teach Latin for a while in a secondary school, but discovered that the students just didn't want to learn. I've always been interested in films as long as I can remember. Actually, I wanted to do anything not to become a teacher.
