He always carried a loaded .38 or Beretta pistol in a holster on his
back.
He got his start in Hollywood in the mail room of the William Morris
talent agency. He eventually opened his own public relations firm, and
his clients included Tony Bennett, Faye Dunaway and Brooke Shields. He
left PR work to work as a producer, and also promoted the careers of
Suzanne Somers and Kristy McNichol, in addition to Farrah Fawcett.
He was known for creative publicity work, such as having Mary Hart's
legs insured for a million dollars when she joined Entertainment Tonight (1981).
